You guys really turned back time for this 79-year-old Strategic Air Command (Combat Defense Force/security) veteran from the 60’s, and I sincerely that you for that!

I got K9 right after tech school and served 4 years. My captain was a pilot washout who was dumped into Security Forces. We always got officers who failed sophisticated training.

Are there different job responsibilities for being an enlisted in security forces compared to a security forces officer? And if so, what are they?

I like how the Capt brought up he has a friend who was prior-e maintenance and commissioned as a 31P, is there anyway I can try and get in contact with that individual? I’m currently a crew chief and halfway through my bachelor’s in emergency management so I’ve been looking at becoming a SF officer.

I enlisted into security guard forces thinking it would give me an advantage to become a future police officer. Our city PD does not consider guarding parked aircraft, ammo dumps, or missiles police work. Checking ID cards at gates is like pumping gas. Meant nothing to Applicant Investigations. OSI or CID might helo, not being a road guard.
