101 CREATIVE Careers and Job ideas for Young Artists! 

Im 17 years old and I am very skilled in art, writing stories/poems, and also sing/dance and photography . I don't know what to do with my life because I like to do so many things and I still wanna try more things like acting, film etc. I just don't know how or where or what I'm doing or gonna do lol thanks for the ideas though

As someone who has been a professional tattoo artist over ten years my advice if you go that direction is to get a back brace. it looks kinda dumb but its cheaper than paying for a chiropractor every other week. Right now im trying to polish up my illustration portfolio to start moving out of the tattoo industry because my back just cant handle it anymore and im only 36.

I still don't know exactly which job would be perfect for me. I want to be an artist, illustrator, concept artist and animator but my mum wants me to study graphic design to have a stable job, but I don't know if that job would make me happy. Great video! Love it! Toy design sounds so cool!! It's pretty rare though.. That's the sad thing with a lot of creative jobs. (definitely not all of them) Just like with becoming a singer, it's hard to become one. Not a lot of available spots. Like becoming an artist who sells his/her own paintings. Fun and great! But very hard to actually make it in the business. :(

Hi there, I’ve been drawing and illustrating since 3 years old after watching Star Wars for the first time. I haven’t got a clue where to start finding work in the concept art industry. I know i want to do it. I’ve learned from the gnomon workshops, feng Zhu, Ryan church, hardy fowler on top of various RU-vid videos etc. I’m 46 years old at the moment and i want to change careers and earn money doing what i love. Can you help me. I think I’ve picked up a decent skill level but I’m really lost. I work as an ICT technician but I’ve got 20 years of photoshop and Corel painter experience. I love your videos but would love some pointers. I’m going to go through your videos with a fine tooth comb, I’ve only recently watched your videos so the advice I’m looking for is probably in your content somewhere. Thanks for you content.

What was that job title you said involving organizing art? Art Ringer? Because of this video, Ima now start to find a job position that involves putting other peoples artwork together to create something big. Cause if you check out my videos I pick pictures and gifs that go along with the meaning of the song. And I am wondering if hopefully there is a job title for that. Cause I cannot draw or animate anything, but I can put others work together to create an image.

Hi Rob! I really enjoy your video, thank you for sharing... I have a concern though... I'm pretty young still, but not terribly. I'm 32. My job experience is in hospitality and most recently marketing and graphic design. Currently, I'm a traditional art teacher at a studio. My strengths are in pencil drawing, telling stories, etc. but I haven't mastered any of the needed trade skills like knowing camera angles, pacing, etc. Is 32 too late to learn and start building a portfolio for concept art? How do I even get my foot in the door?

Hey rob! Is it difficult to get into the film industry with designing and little drawing? Because i have a ton of visions but cant show them in any way. But when i draw, i can bring the feelings and moods on to paper. I want to be a director. I want to be some one who brings a world and feeling into a visual story. Thats why i have to ask some one who has made a lot of different works and jobs. How can i get into that kind of work?

I can do crafting, drawing and writing. Mostly I draw. I can do character design to some degree and I have ideas and at least two stories that could be adapted into video games or a couple of movies with a bit of editing. I have abstract designs that would work great for decorating pretty much anything that I feel are marketable. I have no help, no money to get started, where do I go from here? I don't know how to do game design, so mostly that's out unless I can team up with someone. Which I have come to understand is impossible, because no game designer wants to team up with a story writer when they already have a number of their own ideas and don't want any more. I would love to turn my art passions into a career just by doing what I do on my own. I mean why not, I'm really bad at everything else. My advice, don't bother, do it because you enjoy it. It will totally take the fun out of it if you're desperate to do it for a living. I stopped caring about that a few years ago and never felt better. I couldn't give a toss about fame either. Absolute nonsense all of it. There are very few jobs and a gazillion artists. Do the math...the competition is huge. It used to depress me. Not anymore thank God
