Can't wait for future reviews. I have been considering Tonewinner when I am ready to upgrade to separates, I have a 5 channel Rotella amp in my 7.4.4 setup and was thinking about adding a 7 channel amp and then add the processor and then potentially upgrade amps again down the road, but having all 11 channels in one unit is definitely a space saver and there is something to be said about having all channels driven my the same manufacturer. The stats look decent, I was looking to be in the 300+ watts for LCR and 150+ for the rest. I look forward to seeing if you notice a power supply difference in your system. I know the specs of the TW are more than adaquate but I regularly hear it is much better to have more excess power available compared to using 80%+ of the amp power consistently.

Thank you for your review, I had the opportunity to meet Aamir in person and visited HQ where I had the opportunity to see this amp and other amps in person and saw his demo theater as well, I bought 2 of 11 channel amps from him and just got delivered and it was absolute pleasure meeting Aamir in person, I love the amps so far and I am using these in conjunction with Marantz AV10 and driving all my 15 channels with these 2.

I picked up one from Aamir about a month ago also. He's the most down to earth guy. No "hifi pretentiousness"! I have it paired up with my Denon X3800 driving a full SVS Ultra and Elevation set up. Need to run some more speaker cables to bring my system up to 5.2.6 or 7.2.4... still contemplating which! 🙂

Can’t wait to see your full amp review and updated AT-300 processor review. The AT-300 has matured quite a bit, and I have heard great things about it, once you dedicate the time to calibrate and dial in the settings.
@SpecOfTech

From what little playing I have done with the AT-300, it is super smooth. It really is a slick unit for those that don't NEED a world class room calibration software. Honestly, even without room calibration it sounds amazing.

Thanks for the excellent review. I only need 9 channels, I’m currently leaning towards a pair of OSD Nero XA-5180 amps for a similar price and more power. One downside is a pair of these will twice as much as a single Tone Winner.

Great review! Tonewinner does it again! In these times of price gouging and inflation, TW seems to still provide crazy value and quality. I know this as a Tonewinner owner for a few years now. The TW pre and power combo cost is on par with a mid tier big brand AVR. Many people think China made gear is cheap garbage, NOT! Sound quality, performance is there in spades. Possibly one caveat, TW does not have the brand recognition in North America as Marantz, Denon ect. Resale might not be as good? Does that really matter in the long run? For me, I couldn't be happier and satisfied with TW. If anyone is looking for a fantastic HT setup and not break the bank, call Aamir! You won't be disappointed!!
@SpecOfTech
@SpecOfTech Год назад
I am with you 100% on all that. Tonewinner does not live up to the negative stigmas that come along with Chinese made products. Their build quality is top notch...period. Their sound quality is on par with their competition, and in some cases better. They are a great budget option gunning for a seat in the North American market...no question.

I upgraded to the AT-300 and AD-8300 back in November. For the price, they are so hard to beat; plus given they are the manufacturer for Emotiva and other brands, it is great saving some cash buying direct from the manufacturer. In addition, they processor has been getting regular updates and it only getting better. I will say the room EQ is lacking here, and REW is a must.
@SpecOfTech
@SpecOfTech Год назад
I agree, the room calibration is very basic on the AT-300, but for the price it's expected. Even without room calibration I find it to punch far above its weight class. It operates super smooth now too. I have the Emotiva RMC-1L in house, and the AT-300 operates smoother than the Emotiva.

Great coverage. I love seeing more low cost competitors on the market. ToneWinner needs a better marketing arm in the West. Emotiva owns them in this area, even though they are the same OEM. Then again, what they don't spend in slick marketing dollars, consumers benefit with lower cost entry prices.

@@SpecOfTech thanks. It took a minute to process what tone winner was trying to do with their speaker connections. Thankfully the LCR was easy to identify. My initial 15 minutes of setup/listening sounded awesome (and with one amplifier). With the Monolith 7x I had set my starting volume at -37…TW I brought it down to somewhere in the -50s. After I saw your initial video and my monolith stopped working I made contact with HIFI via email and he actually called me (unexpected but welcomed). He responded very quickly…pleasure doing business with him. Looking forward to your next review in May. Thanks for what you do.

I tried it, had issues. Between no audio output from the amp and the loud pop that it sends across my connected speakers (even when my main AVR is powered off; ruling out bad signal from main AVR). My 8300 is being returned for a refund. I shouldn’t have to troubleshoot a brand new amp, as requested by summit-hifi. Intend on getting a refund and buying same brand/quality power amp as my main AVR (arcam). Wont be doing this again or recommending this brand.

@SpecOfTech
@SpecOfTech Год назад
It's a 5 - 12 V trigger input. Not sure why it's listed that way, it's possible there are triggers out there with less than 12V. The important thing is that it accepts 12V...cheers.
@tylormcvey1493
@tylormcvey1493 Год назад
If you daisy chain your turn on signal to multiple pieces, your source is 12v & by the time you run it thru 3+ input/ outputs, you would likely have less than 12v. It seems to me their trigger is more sensitive, just in case you have a situation like that, which is nice. 👍🏼

But it’s made in China…. This isn’t a shot at the quality but We BADLY need to support companies that keep manufacturing in the west. Emotiva and Monolith amps are made in the USA.
@SpecOfTech
@SpecOfTech Год назад
I do agree that there should be a certain level of buying locally happening, but for those on tight budgets, amps like this are a godsend. I also hate to burst your bubble, but Tonewinner literally makes Emotiva. Emotiva just does some of the assembly in the USA. That shouldn't be a point against Emotiva though, as they are the same company and same quality they were 3 seconds ago before you found that out.
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 Год назад
@@SpecOfTech I’d like to know the details of this… did Emotiva design their processors and schematics and contract Tone Winner to build it? Or did Emotiva have Tone Winner design everything… cause that’s a pretty big difference and if tone winner just went on after to build their own very similar product after Emotiva designed it that’s pretty shitty and very common in chicom manufacturing.
@shaneducholke364
@shaneducholke364 Год назад
@@Paranimal86 Tonewinner built all the parts for the amps and Processors long before there was an Emotiva and Emotiva bought what they build. Tonewinner did have a couple specific amps and processors that they sold in China, Emotiva would just tell Tonewinner the specs they wanted as far as channels or processor bells and whistles and Tonewinner designed it and then shipped them broken down units. Emotiva saves a lot of money on import fees by not importing assembled units, it also allows them to state they are assembled in the USA, which is Very different than made in the USA. Tonewinner and Emotiva had an agreement that Tonewinner could not sell in North America for a given period of time and after that, the external visuals had to be different, but the internals can be identical. Since Tonewinner makes a large variety of electronics parts and components, they have the ability to use some upgraded components in their equipment that could make them better. I don't known if and where they do it, but it is very possible and likely that they do since they know exactly what is in the Emotiva and it makes sense to upgrade certain parts that don't cost significantly more. Since Tonewinner is based in China and they use an independent internet system, you have to be in China to access Chinese websites, hence finding info is very, very difficult. I found the info on an AVS forum about 18 months ago, posted from someone who lives in China and could access some information as well as specific specs on what is used in Emotiva and the general process that happens. This info was before Tonewinner was able to sell in North America and was just a supplier for Emotiva. It was posted more of an Emotiva back story and how they could sell gear at such low prices and whether it was quality, so it wasn't a post about Tonewinner specifically, but about Emotiva and the quality levels and how they could sell so cheap. My guess is that within their agreement, Tonewinner is not able to publically state that they supply for Emotiva once they started to sell in North America, similar to the companies that produce Kirkland products for Costco, Duracell can't say that they make Kirkland batteries. As far as supporting local, I am a huge proponent of that and it is a priority to do so, specifically locally owned businesses. In this case, Summit HiFi is a local business and purchasing from them supports local workers and local distribution channels so to me, that is supporting local. 90% of small business owners sell products that are imported but that should not mean we should not support them. If we did, it would be an economic catastrophy as hundreds of thousands of businesses would go out of businesses and tens of millions of people would be out of work. If you purchase anything from a locally owned business, you are supporting local, no matter where those products are manufactured.
@Paranimal86
@Paranimal86 Год назад
@@shaneducholke364 thanks for the in depth info! Yeah I always shop local first we have a hifi shop here in Buffalo, NY called “Speaker Shop” they are incredible unfortunately the other store Stereo Advantage closed there doors a few years back they were awesome too. The employees at Speakershop are incredible, I bought my Sonus Fabers(made in Italy) and Focals (made in France) there… I try support manufacturing outside of China whenever I can. I’m eyeing the new Sony ES AVRs which are made in Malaysia… I just see china being a problem for us down the road, a lot of our companies and politician sold out our labor and manufacturing capabilities to China.
@shaneducholke364
@shaneducholke364 Год назад
@@Paranimal86 I don't disagree with you one bit, I do the same, especially China, but there is only so much extra I will spend to do that. If I am within 10-15% in price, I don't have an issue (even more on lower priced items). I don't have the funds to spend an extra 30-40% on items, especially if we are talking about a price tag of over $1000. In those situations where Chinese products are the only logical option, I try to buy from locally owned and operates businesses and stay away from the big box stores. I built my own custom Marty subs with B&C drivers that I think are from Italy, maybe a couple small components are Chinese but none of the big stuff is. I am buildinh my own Elusive 1099 speakers for LCR and HT8's for the 4 surrounds and 4 Atmos. None of the drivers are Chinese and the wood is local, so other than some interconnects and circuit board oiexes, none is Chinese and everything is bought from a US company. The sub parts were all from a Canadian company. Unfortunately with China dominating in consumer product manufacturing with such low prices, it is nearly impossible not to purchase their products unless money isn't a concern in your life and unfortunately, I don't have an abundance of extra cash laying around. I do wish more people would think that way, I live in a Alberta, as does Barret from this channel, and in general, most people support local since it is such a blue collar province. One thing they will happen within the next 5-10 years is Chinese production will drop significantly and their prices will rise. Their work force is dwindling as the older people will no longer be working and the birth rate has been spiraling downwards that their population rates are dropping by 10's of million per year. There are predictions that China's population could drop by over 500 million within 40 years, if not sooner. Good having this chat, take care

I'm curious what the warranty is like & the customer support if you're ordering from Summit Hifi. No knock against them or Amir, but their business is sales. They won't fix your gear & their customer support would be limited. Emotiva costs more, but they literally do everything. Read that again & realize there is a cost associated with that service plus the value it adds to your experience. Do you think your Ford is 100% American or even exclusively Ford made parts? BMW moved their 3 series manufacturing to Mexico & their parts are "globally sourced " so does that mean it's inferior?

Aamir is the Tonewinner distributor; he has some of the best customer service and warranty support in the business...I kid you not. He is often far to kind to his customers, at a detriment to his business and profit margins. You won't find better support than Aamir at Summit Hifi, and this is coming from someone who has purchased from someone that has purchased from most of the big players. As a matter of fact, here's an example; SVS doesn't extend their "Bill of Rights" to Canadian buyers. Aamir was having none of that, so he offers it to them out of his own pocket.
