OMG, Eddie Van Halen passed away? :( I've heard he had demons. But It's too bad the throat cancer got to Eddie. RIP to one of the men who created Van Halen. :(
"Dime was an original and an original deserves an original" - EVH at Dimebags funeral as he placed his iconic black and yellow guitar in Dime's casket. RIP EVH
A horrible loss, one of the most talented guitarists to ever live. 2020 sucks A legend who wrote some of my favorite guitar lines of all time. There was no musician like him. rest easy Eddie.

Freddie Mercury, Kurt Cobain, layne Stanley, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Gray, a large portion of Lynyrd Skynyrd, John Lennon, George Harrison, Chester Bennington, Chuck Schuldiner, John Bonham, and many more have been lost but us as the rock and metal community have to stay strong and try to move one with there memory in mind. Rock on
I couldn't work anymore after learnimg this today. I was in a cloud of disbelief. My first concert when I was 14 was 1984. It blew me away. Not the best way to start because nothing ever came close the the VH live experience. I still can't believe this is real.
Does anyone remember that scene in "Two and a Half Men" where Charlie was having writer's block and he met EVH coming out of a restroom with his guitar, and the guitarist says "you can find inspiration anywhere." Then he breaks into a SICK guitar solo. After, EVH said "I call that Two Bean Burritos and a Coke!" and walked on. Priceless
I picked up a guitar about 12 months ago. And eddie has, and always was, one of my biggest inspirations for doing so. Coincidentally, I started learning Aint Talkin Bout Love only a week ago, and slowly getting there, its one of my favourite ever songs. Im only 24, but this song and Eddie's work, gives me a sense of nostalgia, which doesn't technically exist due to my age. That's how good he was, he created magic. Rest in peace Eddie. Saying your legacy will live on, will be an understatement 🤘
The year 1979, the year I was introduced to the band "Van Halen". I remember it as if was yesterday, my brother handed me a cassette for my birthday. Van Halen? who the? what the? One listen and the guitarist blew a hole in my mind! Who is this guy? It's Eddie Van Halen. Thank you Eddie for playing at all our countless keg parties and other endeavors over the years. You will never be forgotten Great guitarist never die, their riffs play on through the heavens and straight through the clouds. R.I.P my friend.
More than likely, there will never be another comet like Eddie, Why a comet? Because they are much more rare. Stars are everywhere.....He was a comet...
Everything he did was with a smile, and seemingly so effortless. One of the most iconic and influential guitar players in history. Certainly the most influential of the 1980s. This is a huge blow to rock music. I hope Eddie is up there shredding with Jimi and the rest of the guitar GODS.
@@SeanGTM Of course. They're all doing a big jam session up there I'm sure. Randy and Eddie actually knew each other. I was just watching a video by some guy who was taking guitar lessons from Randy before his plane crash, he said he asked Randy to teach him some EVH licks and that's how he found out Randy was friends with Eddie back then.
Im a Black man who grew up in the MTV video era in the eighties while in Chicago. All I can remember is Jump from the album 1984 being played everywhere including before the Cub games. Today at the age of 50 I am crushed about his passing truly a Genius. RIP EVH.
Millions of us are grieving for a man we might have never met, but his music is in the fabric of or soul. His music will be in our hearts forever. I've Loved Eddie Van Halens music for 41 of my 56 yrs. It didn't matter who was singing as far as I was concerned, It was all about Eddie, His Music. We could be sad, depressed mad at the world & put his music on and soon enough instant better mood. I hope many of you out there got to enjoy a Van Halen Concert and see Eddie play. We truly lost a Legend. Stay well everyone, 2020 really does fucking suck. Rock, Rest in Peace Eddie.
Eddie Van Halen. Possibly the most recognizable name in rock. A guitarist, father, songwriter, but most importantly a legend. RIP Eddie, you will be missed.
Definitely the most recognizable guitars in rock history. Period. I don't think there's another guitar design that is more closely associated with one person as his iconic guitar that's in the Smithsonian Museum. One of the greatest guitar players ever in rock. This is tragic.
@@maxxxmodelz4061 Hendrix and Eddie. They both redefined the Electric guitar. In 2020 they're both getting the respect from the younger players.I Before people down Jimi, he's at least 90% of the reason why Fender is still around.
I was in Daytona Beach, Florida on vacation when I first heard about his passing. My husband had gotten sick off of seafood the night before, so he was napping at hotel room, so I I went cruising down by the boardwalk when i heard it announced on the radio. I absolutely lost it, and crying my eyes out while driving. People at the boardwalk and red light looked at me like I was crazy ! I had literally been playing Van Halen music all night the night before at the pool, and even posted 2 of their videos on a 70’s music Facebook group page, never realizing it was his last night here on earth. I hope he is looking down on us now, realizing how much he was adored and admired by millions of people, and smiling with that gorgeous grin that made me and so very many other females hearts melt ❤️❤️🙏🙏🥰🥰 R.I.P. Eddie, there will never be another even close to you !
I’m only thirteen and to be honest almost all of my friends don’t know who Eddie is it’s sad but he is one my biggest inspiration to play the guitar R.I.P man we will miss you 🤘
Same here. I loved him man, he inspired me to pick up guitar. I know my dad would be more devastated than me, but still man. It’s gonna be real hard for me to get back into guitar now
Glad you are listening to the Master of Shred and enjoying great music. ❤ He is the greatest rock guitarist ever. My advice would be to share with your friends, especially starting with the video of him playing Eruption in concert. Happy listening. 🎶🤟
I was 18 and in high school when Eruption came out. There was no internet or videos or books on exactly how Eddie made Eruption sound or what equipment he used. The Sustain on some of the notes seemed impossible to replicate. I remember EVH fans would ponder for Years, just how he did Eruption and Eruption was played at A LOT of High school graduations. No one had seen anything like Eddie or his tapping. Great band and Great Memorys, thanks Eddie!! RH DSD
@@coreyabell6332 I was '76. I saw EVH quite a few times. Van Halen was so great. Van Hagar, too. Remember people saying that back then? I'm so sure that there is just the hottest band in Heaven. RIP Eddie. See you in about 20 year's.
Eddie inspired soo much guitarists, and the today's electric guitar wouldn't exist without him, thank you Eddie. A last goodbye but we all know you'll never die, rip 🤘😔.
Never have I ever seen anyone play Guitar like Eddie! He had wings already, now they are bigger. Forever loved and dearly missed. God Bless EVH and Family.
His smile made my heart melt every time ! My major crush since I was a teen back in the 70’s when I first saw them open for Black Sabbath, and blow their shit away ! Then saw them in the 80’s with Sammy singing , both were amazing because of Eddie mainly ! Class Act guy ! RIP Eddie ! 🙏🙏🙏🥰🥰🥰♥️♥️♥️
I've always been a VH fan since they release VH1 in '78, but I don't like the bad/cheap work that have been done here... not a single cool transition from a video to another and other details. I didn't put a dislike... but didn't click the like button. That's maybe why the Bieber fans put a 👎🏼 And finally, who cares if some people don't like the same stuff??? The only videos I saw without a single 👎🏼 have always been those getting 1-10 likes. Some dislikes won't change my love for a track, record(s) and a Group or Artist 🤷🏽♂️
I would like everyone who cares to give their prayers to Alex. Not being mentioned. All I know if it was my brother at this point I'd want to be with him RIP
Dimebag and Vinnie, among countless others, will be there to greet him on the other side. Thanks for giving us so much knowledge, inspiration, and timeless music. One of a kind, and undeniably the originator of shredding with soul. R.I.P. Eddie
This is a sad day for most but not for "Dime" who is reunited with his hero....I firmly believe "Dime And Eddie" are gonna be shredding in HEAVEN....listen closely if you hear Thunder🤘
I doubt he'd ever have it there; but yes....the Frankenstrat, a guitar that probably cost $500 to build, is likely now worth millions on legacy alone!!!!
Seeing it at the MET made me smile so hard. Something i only ever seen on tv was now directly in my face. To see the iconic design, the wear and tear, the scratches. How ok I’m about to start crying again. Rest In peace Eddie!
My dad manages a restaurant EVH happened to like. One day when he came to the restaurant, my dad called my mom and told her to bring me and my guitar. EVH signed it and gladly took a picture. Legends never die. RIP EVH.
I cried when I heard the news. Van Halen was one of my biggest inspirations to become a songwriter. Rest In Peace, Eddie! The world will never be the same. 😭😭😭
He's in the clouds with every other great guitarist, he was a staple to the rock world and is one of the most recognizable names in rock. Rest in Piece Eddie Van Halen
The last one gave me goosebumps!! Throughout the video he appears to be channeling a higher power, much like Jimi Hendrix did. He was supremely talented, that's for sure.
Think it’s more a criticism of loudwire cashing in on his death, I didn’t dislike the video but I think they should have removed ads of it because I can see how it could be seen as a cash grab
R.I.P Eddie Van Halen. He will never be forgotten and always remeberd and in my membory. Such a sad day such a sad year. I feel like im gonna cry. Our three best guitarists ae gone now Randy Rhoades, Hendrixs and now Eddie Ban halen. My heart goes out to him and his family ❤❤❤❤❤ to Eddie. Im just out of words.
I was so happy to have gotten the chance to see Eddie Van Halen perform in concert with my father who introduced my brother and I to Van Halen’s music. My dad said when he was young he would always air guitar to every guitar solo Eddie did. Thank you Eddie for your amazing music and creating an incredible bond between my father and I.
I'm not sure if the word is awe, but when you've got someone as talented as MJ kind of at odds as to what to do with himself in his own supreme domain, you know another genius has just entered the building. RIP Eddie Van Halen
Eddie is one of the most iconic, influencial, amazing 🎸 guitarist around & the nicest person i ever met at Warner Bros. Records . (1986 Publicity Dept....I talked with him & the whole band for about 35 minutes)...I was treated like family... I'll will always miss Eddie as a fellow musician & as a friend...R.I.P. Eddie !
😂😂His Guitar made the 1980s I always heard his music when I was in junior high and when I was working at five guys burgers and fries restaurant back in the day!!!!!

Well, a lot of us were secretly hoping his health rumors were just rumors and he'd make this great comeback at some point and shock the world all over again. However, this is the worst shock imaginable. RIP Eddie, you inspired the world
We are just playing roles for a bit in this weird thing called life before we return to the oneness of the universe after death. Shakespeare said something along the lines of the Earth is a stage and everyone in it is an actor, the star of their own play. And damn have there been some amazing plays. The universe is a genius for creating all of us, and we all have our unique contributions, and no one was quite like Eddie Van Halen
I literally get goosebumps whenever I hear this man’s guitar solos! At least once everyday! The last time I saw him was the last tour. I was given 3 rd. row seats! Luckiest thing I will ever get.
The greatest guitarist in history!!! He will be remembered as a great guitarist as well as a great father and brother. He revolutionized rock and helped make it what we know and love today and wrote tons of hits. May his legacy live on forever ROCK ON DUDES!!!
In their defense, maybe because some were not included and some shouldn't be on here. This is just my opinion...I personally don't think the beat it solo should have been included (btw, I think Michael Jackson's musicians didn't like him being there) imho, the delay solo of live without a nets 5150 is one that I feel should have been included. Also, jamming with g.e. Smith on SNL should be there too. Just my opinion. Eddie was my hero, no Ill will, I just think that is why there are dislikes. Before I leave, remember...BOCEPHUS RULES AND KNOWS ALL!!!! VH FOREVER!!!!
Without him the late 70's and 80's would never have happened the way they did, an entire generation of bands and guitarists that made music exciting and dangerous again would have never come into existence.
Ive been a fan since 1980 I camped out for 2 days for tickets one of the many times I had the privledge of seeing them perform in concert. He is one of a kind. There will never be another EVH. He will be missed. Gone but never forgotten. RIP
