Best video I’ve seen on this topic so far. Very well said. I’ve also been spending hours “researching”.

Totally agree with you 💯! 11 inch it’s a good size for tablet.

Really good review. I also bought both and decided to keep the 13 inch. Mainly for use cases where I want a lightweight travel replacement laptop and occasions where I want to be away from my desk but have the ability to multitask as I work remote. In more casual scenarios such as reading, browsing and watching content, the 11 inch is the better choice because of sheer portability and feeling more like a tablet. The weight difference isn't as big as with previous generations, but the 13 inch still feels like half a laptop, whereas the 11 still just feels like a tablet. If you plan on using the magic keyboard a lot, then the 13 becomes the more comfortable option to work on.

i'm going to be a engineering student this year, whether or not to buy a 13" inch ipad pro as a main computer? becoz generally what i hear is that the ipados is not a full fledged computer, it can't run autocad or other engineerinhg related apps as good as a even a basic laptop. so in conclusion is it better for me to get a 11' inch as a note taking/ book reading device and get the macbook air m3 as the main device? what is your suggestions..

Which size is good for watching videos and reading books ? I already have an iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 model…Tempted to get the 13 inch pro because the magic keyboard in 11 inch is almost unusable for me.

For watching videos the 13-inch is more immersive, especially for movies (not to say 11-inches is bad), but for reading the 11-inch is the winner for me (you can read with the 13-inch, bit it just feels a bit awkward juggling a laptop-sized screen in your hands). But maybe consider your use case - like if you’re reading with your iPad, how many hours is it for each day? And then compare that to how long you spend typing with the keyboard during the day to see which use case will benefit you more

@@sukhdeepsm Ok. Yes the 11 inch is easier to hold while reading. Regarding videos I have seen some youtube videos that the 13 inch doesn't really give 2 extra inches for video. You get more black bars up and below. Is that true ? because when you zoom to fill the screen you lose some content, so I don't prefer zooming especially youtube videos.
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 20 дней назад
@@81179venky yeah so because the aspect ratios are different the 13 inch does have bigger bars at the top on most 16:9 videos - you can sort of see the difference in the B-roll I included towards the end when I mentioned the 13-inch iPad feeling like a TV. Despite this though I still found the 13-inch to be more immersive than the 11-inch for consuming content, and I didn’t feel the need to ever zoom in on content

I will be a psychology student and I already have a laptop. I am going to study in abroad and actually I don’t want to bring it with me. So I want to buy an Ipad as both laptop and tablet. Do you think that Ipad pro (13 inch) will be the best and enough option for this purpose?
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 3 дня назад
Good question. I studied a behavioural economics module at university, and I’d say the iPad was sufficient for basically all the tasks I had to do (note-taking, reading dozens (!) of papers, annotating PDFs, collaborating on a group assignment through Teams etc.), but I always regretted not having extra screen space on my 11-inch (especially when going to seminars) so based on that I’d say 13-inch is the way to go - assuming your course doesn’t require any specific software/apps that only runs on a laptop but not iPad

After my GCSEs I’m looking to buy an iPad Pro, and I’m not sure between getting the 13 inch or 11 inch, if I were to get the 11 inch I was wondering if it is worth also getting a monitor so I could use an external keyboard and mouse with the monitor and iPad while at home at my desk, but then I could just use the iPad when I’m at school for example. What do you think? Is there any point also getting a monitor, and should I go 11 inch or 13 inch? I think I’m going to try them in store, and I think I’m leaning towards the 13 inch now as it will be my main computer. What do you think?
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 21 день назад
If the iPad is going to be your main computer I’d personally be leaning towards the 13-inch, it just feels better for productivity imo. Equally, I’m a huge external monitor fan. I think the ability to just plug your iPad straight into a display and turn it into a >21-inch screen is a game changer and definitely worth investing in if you study a lot at home. If I could only pick between the 13-inch iPad or the 11-inch + external monitor, I’d probably go 11-inch + external monitor since that gives you the best of both worlds. Also, if you’re getting the Magic Keyboard case alongside the iPad you could probably get away without using an external keyboard/trackpad and save some money there if that’s of any relief. Hope this helps.

@suli_xli 21 день назад
@@sukhdeepsm ok thanks, yeah now I am a bit stuck, because I think the 13 inch is better than the 11 inch, but the monitor could be more beneficial. However my needs will mostly be for school work, note taking for school, and general RU-vid and relaxing, so what do you think? Do I need to get a monitor? Or is the 13 inch better instead?
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 21 день назад
If you’re mostly using your iPad for note-taking the 13 inch is probably the better option, sure you don’t get as much screen real estate as with a monitor, but hey it’s not like you can use your Apple Pencil to draw on an external display, so it wouldn’t really benefit your use case. And for general content consumption, most affordable monitors come with LCD displays and speakers that pale in comparison to the OLED display and 4-speaker sound system you get on the iPad Pro. But that’s just my take.
@suli_xli
@suli_xli 21 день назад
@@sukhdeepsm yeah i agree, so you think the 13 inch then? I will try them both out in the apple store anyway but I will be mainly on the look for the 13 inch one
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 21 день назад
@@suli_xli yeah that would be my recommendation. But yes, definitely check both out in store to see what it would be like multitasking with both screens and drawing with the pencil

If I’m just going to be using my iPad for watching RU-vid in bed and gaming (I already have a mac for work) which size is the better option for me?
@sukhdeepsm
@sukhdeepsm 5 дней назад
Personally I’d go for the 11 inch - as nice as the 13 inch is for watching content, trying to hold a tablet that big in your hands in bed will probably get fatiguing quite quickly

I had the 13” pro for a week and swapped for the 11” I’m much happier with the size as it’s much more portable and big enough for me.

Better just buying a real computer rather than this oversized and overpowered iPhone. The iPadOS is incredibly limiting. I'm not suggesting that Ipad should run MacOS but it would be better if the software was based on a version of MacOS rather than iPhoneOS as it is now.

Agreed, specially after the wwdc this year for iPadOS is a joke. But the pencil for note taking is so good

Yeah ngl it was a bummer that there were no major iPadOS announcements (I’m guessing it’s because most of their resources were focused on all the AI stuff)
