Just don't use outdated mods and if you see a weapon mod conflicting with anything else - remove it. Read descriptions, reported bugs and posts before installing.

Don't even bother, if it shall be a .44 the best one ever is the "MW Basilisk"! I never ever have seen such good revolver animations even in other games! Only thing, maybe you want to tone down the damage a bit since it may be a bit overpowered depending on max upgrade. (except if you meet a super mutand warlord in front of your face, there you will be glad you got this gun)

Having only just recently discovered your channel I have been working my way through your weapon mod reviews. And can I just say thank you! Thank you for your, some will call it brutal, honesty about which mods are good and which suck. It is really refreshing to hear a reviewer speak honesty about a given mod and call out those that aren't up to scratch. For the .45 Auto Pistol, I would recommend the Unofficial Update by Crash. That one is a lot newer and rebalances the weapon better. Plus it actually fixes the PA double footsteps glitch.

This video is just what i needed. I'm making a personal WWII NPC replacer and the best choice for me was the BH colt. The included shovel happens to be the best you can get on nexus and i love seeing npcs run around the battlefield with it :D

Hi, The mod author of M1911 Commander and Custom here, I'd like to thank you for your brutal and down to the ground honest review, thanks, really! Don't worry, if I'm going to make another mod (anything), I'll be sure to wrap it up as an .ESL or a .BA2 archive, never again am I going to struggle with loose files... But I have to say that you're underestimating that "average" user or gamer, who will according to you, mess it all up... People aren't stupid and know how to read, you know? And I have given instructions on how to install this mod and the with it associated fixes, in a readme file. Other than this, you're mostly correct, the Deliverer animations suck, I know (I'm bad at setting up the already broken animation nodes in nifskope)... And you're also right about the sounds, I recorded those myself, with a blank gun and didn't want to use anyone-else's due to copyright issues. That's all, I wish you a merry crash-to-desktop the next time you'll play FO4 , you brutal man and hope that you'll make many more mod reviews, of all kinds... This community really needs more talented mod reviewers such as yourself or Dak. Have a good one!

The best ever more immersive cooking station mod is sadly removed... I still got it, I never have to uninstall the game or loose my files or it's gone.

@@Phantomvoice95 Yes, better cooking stations it is. But the more importand main reason was, the cooking station themself are much better and more immersive. All seasons have visible and audible fire, smoke, glow, embers, sparks, shadows and flickering lights. For example the stove has a pot filled with kinda soup/goulash where your Char is putting in the meat, and there is boiling sound making you believe there is really cooking something. Or the campfire pot got meat hung op next to it, the barbecue rack got the most importand thing which is missing on vanilla ones, the fire below the rack. Also more stations are added like real funktioning barbecue grills with fire and roast/fry sound.

The saddest thing about the WW2 M1911A1 mod by le02link, is that it had a previous version which was actually better than the currently available version. It had better sounds, a more believable reload than the current animation rip from Battlefield 1's M1911, and to top it all off: it had better recoil animations while firing when aiming down the sights.

There’s also a pretty good mod of the Stallion from Metro Exodus. Which is basically a 1911. Fits the world really well too.

Easter EGGS in this video. At 1:46, the Snake Eater pistol is a referenced to *Metal Gear Solid 3* for Old Snake's CQC 1911 modified with a silencer. It even had the quote of "Try to remember some of the basics of CQC." The Future Shock pistol is heavily referenced to the 1911 45 Long Slide with laser sighting from the movie *Terminator 1* when Arnold Schwarzenegger went gun shopping in Los Angeles per the movie.

I dont know if you have yet (and I just couldnt find it) but a weapon pack comparison video could be very useful. Having tons of individual weapons gets tedious and annoying to manage at a certain point. It would probably end up taking a while though since many add quite a few guns.

But honestly would you ever use peashooters in power armor, and why? Therefore I even hate power armor in general somehow: 1. because it looks ugly- why taking much effort to create your own char if you're just behind ugly boring metal. 2. also super annoying, for every action you need to leave the power armor first. Animations outside of battle to get out and in too long, too, aka annoying. 3. Power armor is illogical made: Except for the good thing you can evade all fall damage, those mere blood sucker mosquitos can pierce their trunk through your armor, or in generall animals and else can poison you or damage you with bloatfly spit... - Bethesda logic! 4. The game is bassically forcing you to only use powerarmor if you're playing on higher difficulty, because only by power armor you can get such ridicolous high defence stats if you don't have any mods, and the most weapons are oversized specially for power armor display...

@@Ghost_Kevlar If you are putting mods then the people who play with power armor will use PA overhauls like Bastion that mades you inmune to almost everything if your armor doesn't break but armor piercieng heavy ammo and explosions. load that with less Fusion Cores spawning and you have an interesting mechanic around your mechanized armor and your need to have it on full condition to enter difficult places like the glowing sea. While the Talos Exoskeleton looks like a boring servo suit from CoD, not a full on mechanized external power armor, a different fantasy and experience.

i like combined arms, but i do feel the 1911 in that mod needed more crafting mods. like the longer and short slides for one example and some finishes. also it's lacking screws on the grips.

The only thing that keeps me from using the .45 Auto Pistol mod alongside the almost perfect WARS is the fact that the ironsight is slightly misaligned to the right just like deadpools 9mm pistol which suffers the same fate unfortunately.

The WARS 1911, weirdly enough might be a little bit taller than irl. I cant say for certain because my reference is a kimber production 1911, which is very modern compared to the OG Colt style the WARS 1911 uses.

I like 1911 Complex mod that requires Condavega's 10mm Anim mode and supports Fake Through Scopes. It gives a Kimber 1911, M1911, STI 2011. It has no injection though its only craftable.

Pancuronium I've been using Painter2099's (also went by DeadPool2099) .45 Auto Pistol (Colt 1911) with Hitman47101 Animations, there's also one with HaRu Animations, but I prefer Hitman's Animations. They may be older mods, but they're still really good, and you kind of overlooked them. There's a patch mod to integrate Dak's WesTek Optics Pak into it for more sight options.

The WARS version is too small and too fast than IRL, the 1911 is a bit slow due to the caliber and packs a punch. The 45 autopistol mod is the best and more accurate

I prefer mods that use the deliverer animation because replacing the animation is easy. I'm currently using Fiddler's Deliverer reanimation mod to replace the animation, and it makes it more bearable. Gives it more compatibility too.

@@PancuroniumB I did. The animation is smooth, but the sound effects are a bit over exaggerated for a compact or full-size handgun like the Walther (deliverer) or 1911. It's closer to the sound of a desert eagle. That's why I like Fiddler's animation or the pistol reanimation pack. They're older mods, but they work great.

@@PancuroniumB I wish there were more 10mm animation mods, though. I tried a few. Most of them conflicted with other mods I have in my load order and completely break the 10mm pistol. Others were terrible to look at. Vanilla reanimation project is way too shaky, and it's a bit larpy for my liking. The entire animation looks like an amateur playing with his gun in an action movie scene. Currently using WarDaddy's animation pack. Along with modern firearms (2.5) and modern siderarms, since they use 10mm animation. I'm using the older modern firearms because I have my game modded to be as chaotic as possible. The modern firearms 2.6 is not broad enough, and not enough enemies are using them to give me the deadly chaotic combat that I want.

@@Nickallsopp92 Yeah Rohnald's animations all tend to have too much camera shake. Might not be bad if he could reanimate every weapon to fit the same style.

@@PancuroniumB The camera shake doesn't bother me nearly as much as the amount of unnecessary extra movement he puts into each animation. Just about all of his animations have way too much recoil. That's not to say I dislike all of his animations. The assault rifle, plasma rifle, and pipe weapon animations are all major improvements over the vanilla animation. But the 10mm and double barrel shotgun are way too extra.

I noticed you never comment on the fact that alot of these pistol mods dont have animated slides in 3rd person...While it may not be a big deal to you, it breaks immersion and realism for alot of ppl.

I'd be repeating myself a lot if I pointed that out every time... and the base game pistols don't have animated 3rd person slides either (at least not consistently), even though Fallout 3 and New Vegas never had this problem. If the vanilla game is screwed up I find it hard to knock modders for simply conforming to Bethesda's lax standards.

Two complaints i have (neither are big but i think you should know) For the wars 1911 there isnt a badtfl hq its just the regional office For the ww2 m1911a1, thise arent custom animations, theyre ported from battlefield 5. Again neither are BIG complaints but i thought you should know.

None of this really matters but I like that you have the same eye for the little details that I do. While your first point is correct, your second is wrong. The WW2 M1911A1's animations were made using the BFV animations as a reference. They were not ported over. I don't believe EA/DICE would allow that.

10mm is more powerful than .45 so it should have less recoil. Making something fully automatic doesn't make it less damaging, thats just a product of Bethesda's lack of balancing beyond surface level. A weapon does not to be highly customizable to be good, especially since most of the in game customizations aren't used because they don't make the weapons more viable.

I use a damage multiplier under the Legendary section to off set the issue. The mod's called Custom Legendary Modifications Remade V1.09 xb1. It will also give Custom Legendary Modification options for armor as well. Pair with Any Armor on Any Clothes works quite nicely. Can make you a little OP, and will take the will of a God not to do so.

sure, but that's besides the point. Ammo doesn't have to reflect its real like counterpart. Decreasing damage is to keep the weapon from overtaking the role of intended SMG/assault weapons, even if feel they could've come up with better solution.

@@peppermillers8361 I prefer a bit more realism in firefights honestly. Fortunately there are animation mods and even damage modifier mods for the Player and NPC's that help it either be a bit more realistic, or make the damage as close to realistic as possible. Couple that with better AI mods, mods that change the amount of health NPC's have, mods that change how tough or how weak NPC's are or both. You then have a drastically different more challenging, and depending on the player a possibly more rewarding and definitely more cautious gaming experience.

Few days ago i found mod that makes customazing weapons so easy that here and out only thing i will focus is how weapon and animations looks and sounds, like that compined arms 1911 on default my charcter build default damage is 72 with best upgrades 107 and with weapon own damage cheats max i was getting on default ammunition was 179. Is 72 damage too mutch worry not equiment and crafting overhaul mod will fix that now lowest damage you can do with that gun is 2. Is 179 damage too little for you, do you wanna one hit deadclaw with 1911 worry not with that mod max damage you can get from that weapon is 540. And it's not just damage, you can change recoil, accuary, weight, ammo type, fire mode etc. So basicly you can turn weapon that is semi-automatic .45 something really cursed like full automatic .50 with no recoil and pinpoint accuary.

I'm on Xbox so some of these aren't available. But i find most of the 1911 mods out there to be.....shall we say, disappointing. Usually it's either the sounds (reused from vanilla) or the animations (ripoffs from CoD usually and very janky looking). Im still waiting for a really good one lol To answer your curiosity in the video, as a 1911 owner, this is pretty damn 1=1 scale of how big one is it real life. They are narrower than most modern handguns.

Have to disagree with you. Once was holding a Smith and Wesson version of it and it's still fitting good in the hand. Means it's likely the same size as at least a G19, and therefor I think the Wars one is indeed a bit too small.

@@KamichamaTechstarify well a 1911 (government model) has a 5" barrel. A Glock 19 only has a 3.9"-4.0" (can't remember off the top of my head) barrel and they are both close to the same width. The 1911 would def look larger. And the whole fitting the hand bit is subjective as everyone has different size hands (obviously). Edit- the G19 is 1.26" wide and the S&W 1911 is about 1" wide. So a G17 is closer to the size of a 1911 than a G19 is.

@@monkeybomb8215 I'd say I got pretty normal hand size, as a usual but bit stronger and even a bit chuby male. As I said, if you are not some giant like Paul Wight, but also not some petite little woman, the grip and else was pretty good fitting, similar to the glock 19 to my hand- which isn't the largest handgun after all compared to the USP or the MK23 for example (well at least the smith & wesson version, dunno if they differ from the original colts). Still if you look at WARS 1911 it looks like it's more a compact version in the hands of the player character. I dunno if the hands of the Playerchar was made larger on pupose to fit for all those oversized Vanilla weapons. But as a matter of fact, since we can't know if it's the case, but it indeed looks kinda bad, like it would be uncomfortable for him/or her since male and female got the same size, holding the gun like a bit cramped-> which wasn't the case for me at all holding it in RL (well to remember S&M version at least). Wouldn't have hurt to create the gun also good fitting for the player hand, it won't look oversized immediatelly (if you're not over exxaggerating it like the super bulky institute laser guns ö.ö )

@@KamichamaTechstarify that's true. And yeah on Xbox for 70 something mb I expected higher quality. I have yet to see a 1911 mod that is good. Most have atrocious sounds or reload animations are hella off. The mod "Kimber 1911" is pretty good if you have a Deliverer Reanimation that looks good (runs on the Deliverer sounds)

@@monkeybomb8215 Yea to admit on console it's bad since you can't just simply change the sound yourself or rebalance it with fallout edit and else. (That's one of the reasons why I ditched consoles in the end. For that I'm playing way to much videogames. Even earlier on Fallout 3 and new Vegas it wasn't even possible to install mods in any way...)

Honestly damage shouldn't be the tiniest issue ever. Just Adjust it for your self with Fallout 4 Edit to fit best for your game. Besides Bethesda themself doing a terrible jop in balancing in general for everything... Just look a the useless vanilla minigun, or some enemies are one shot with a mere laser musket without any perks, and some enemies are stupid ridicolous bullet sponges, especially the legendary ones if you don't throw a nuke at them. - and there we havn't even talked about the difficulties... On very hard and high level 80% of all weapons are useless. You have to waste tons of ammo into some enemies if you ever want to use a laughable 10MM or else. And that's most likely why you magically power up your damage of weapons by perks. (Bethesda logic) Also half of the mods are pretty old already. So I couldn't blame them if not being that high deteiled yet and not having or bad custom animations or alike. - If it's using the delivere animations you can simply use mods which change the deliverer animation, it will work on those guns perfectly! (my fave: another deliverer reanimation by xCADAVVER ) - And why would you ever try out an abandomned mod, it was obvious it will be bad because it's not finished... For me the one from Brotherhood I preffer, too, increased the damage myself a bit to balance the low mag capacity compared to the USP- and of course it should deal more damage than 10MM, .45 rounds are 11.2 MM after all. Best of all it's working with the "loads of ammo" mod even if you change the ammo type! * But he said he is working on a remake of his 1911 with his own animations and updated stuff so you don't need to download the other mod anymore, .45 will be standard (also said actually 10mm option was not planned at first, it was just for testing things), fixing iron sight so you don't need another mod to fix it.

Actually if you are playing on console then damage can be issue when you cant edit it byself. so i would say that it's better to gun be overpower because if you feel it's too op then just simply dont install all the best upgrades (like that ense7en mod where some of them can have over 300 damage without any perks, but dont need to use those upgrades to bring gun at bit more balanced). But i agree abaout bethesda balancing it's damn awufull. And those that are using deliver animations i dont think it's bad thing because like you said it's easy to replace deliver animation for something that you see fitting to yourself.

I always give Nick Valentine a 1911 & an Ithaca pump action shotgun (along with a sharp new grey suit and fedora). Gives him that "Untouchables" vibe. I have been looking at my mods whilst watching this vid and still can't track down what actual 1911 mod I'm using though!
