Geez, I played so much City Folk. I loved it. And I got chased by a tarantula on July 4th, then broke down because I thought my character died when the tarantula caught up with me. Good times.

You can't see Frillard in New Leaf because between games he died. Shrunk hints at it when he teaches you an emotion previously taught by Frillard.

Man just seeing the city square brings back memories of how much I loved going there, listening to the music, watching Dr. Shrunk's shows, dreaming of buying gracie furniture, going behind the alley to find Redd's shack for art, getting my shoes shined by Kicks. Wonderful memories.

I played about 3 solid years of City Folk and never saw Frillard. I saw the UFO once but missed it, and never saw it again.

I love both games. City folk is more nostalgic. New leaf has lots more thing to do City folk focuses on simplicity. New leaf focuses on complexity.

Watching this now that I have new horizons. The only other animal crossing I really played was for the GameCube. Kinda makes me realize that new horizons feels like it’s missing a lot :/

I loved City Folk! It introduced so much cool stuff and still gets very little love! I wish New Leaf had the shopping card, it would make purchases so much easier!

City Folk was my first animal crossing game. I miss the card, the city, and the observatory so much. They removed so many iconic features and characters in New Horizons :(

I think, if I could pick three of these elements to bring over to the next AC game, it'd be the shopping card (it was such a convenient and cute feature!), the point system at Nook's store (who doesn't enjoy earning points and redeeming them for cool rewards in general?) and the gyroid storage (I basically never kept gyroids in New Leaf because there were so many other things I wanted to keep!). I do enjoy most of these other features, too, but those three are probably what I'd prioritize, personally.

i remember being the most excited for city folk's release for any game EVER. i had a poster in my room of it that i would look at every day, hoping for it to come out already. then me n my friend would stay on the landline for HOURS going to each others' towns, god i love this game

People say city folk was bad, and maybe it's nostalgia blinding me, but there were so many neat things in that game. I wish they'd bring back the fountain Chihuahua. Dare I say... better than New Leaf in my opinion. New Leaf felt like how New Horizons feels to some people. New Horizons is my all time favorite but City Folk is a close second

Seeing this makes me want to play City Folk again! This was my first Animal Crossing game , and seeing this gives me nostalgia. I remember my 11-year old self playing this for the first time like it yesterday and I’m 19 now. Man this was my childhood. Idc what anyone says negatively about this game. I will always love it! Also, GameCube comes close too, when it comes to my fave AC game. ^-^

“Hideous Tabby” Lmao accurate. In all honesty I miss the keyboard functionality so much. City Folk got a lot of smack for being so similar to Wild World, but everything was a giant improvement imo. New Leaf is great, but I always find myself starting up City Folk these days. Makes me miss Wifi with my friends. :(

Honestly, the feature I miss most was the gyroid storage with Brewster. It was so fun to have a place to store all of your gyroids while being able to view/hear them quickly any time! (and without taking up closet space.) I thought about it constantly with New Leaf.

Man this makes me so sad to look back on I loved city folk and me and my momma would take turns playing it and watch eachother side by side on the couch until it was time for me to go to bed then she would play and farm bells and pay my mortgage off hahaha man good times Q.Q

I've played New Leaf and the Original on the gamecube.... All these things are AWESOME! I hope they bring many or all of these back for the Switch version. Would be an awesome call back to the classic games while being new and refreshing.

City Folk was the first game I got on my Wii I ACTUALLY remember MAKING THE TOWN WITH MY MOM AND LITTLE BROTHER ALLL THE WAY FROM 2008!!!?? I was either 5 or 6... I remember naming the town Snowville because I got my Wii for Christmas and there was snow on the beginning screen! I instantly fell in love! I loved THE WHOLE GAME And my dumb jokes about how “Tom Nook is a Crook” 😂 I miss it SOOOOO much!!!!! I got Wild World after I got New Leaf...which tbh is weird considering the fact I had Acnl for a couple of years by then... I loved making the constellations! I loved, he still is my favorite, BOB! Ya know? That boi! And I remember hating Ceasar for literally NO REASON! And how my brothers favorite character was Eloise! I remember looking back at my Wii after having acnl for a while, I still have it, and thinking how weird it was that the villagers had no pants and that I forgot that YOU USE TO NOT HAVE PANTS 😂👖

I've been playing City Folk for almost 10 years and I'm still playing it, I love this game so much, because there is so much things in it, that's mindblowing I even discovered new things while watching this video.

i remember the first time i got ahold of an animal crossing game, it was this one. i checked it out of my local library and couldn't stop playing. i remember i was really bummed out about having to return it, and ended up going out and buying my own copy :) i love the features both new leaf and city folk, but cf will always have a special place in my heart

I’ve been playing animal crossing since I was in first grade (I’m now going into my senior year) and City Folk is still my favorite game in the series, despite my 800+ hours in New Leaf :) maybe it’s cause I grew up playing CF, but it just has certain little quirks and more personality than NL in my opinion. It’s of my favorite games of all time, actually. Great video!

The constellations and shopping card were so nice. I really hope that NH adds them in a future update, but I doubt it'll happen. ACCF had so many great features that made it my favorite game in the series, even to this day.
