Here’s 11 unusual and slightly weird writing tips for beginners, novelists and long-time writers alike. Many of these are pulled from my own experience as a writer with adhd who does things a little bit differently. They’re especially useful if you’re trying to write a book or novel for the first time, but they focus on motivation, inspiration and goal setting in a way that I could see being helpful for any sort of artist, storyteller or creative. Share your advice below and join my cozy chaotic community!

Hello! I'm Ren, I'm a young easily distracted writer! My attention span is very very short so i really loved this advice! It was really helpful, I'm very glad to have stumbled on to your channel, it's extremely cozy and calm and it's probably one of the only places on the internet that you can feel at ease! Thank you for creating this space

Hi Julia - I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago and I'm so happy that I did! :) I'm autistic (diagnosed last year at 31!), a writer, a reader, and a lover of all things soft and cozy. Very glad to find myself in your lovely little corner of the internet. Hugs from Ireland x

@@Thecozychaotic I use the bribes and time based goal, I usually set my goals lower with the intention of doing extra. It make me feel better about it even though I knew I was likely going to reach that already.😅

@@R0wan._.666.Yes!! I've lowered my goals lately and it's a game changer. Sometimes big goals overwhelm me and keep me from making progress. I keep telling myself that writing (even for just 20 min a day) is still working on my story!

Hey!! I just discovered your channel a few days ago and have been loving your videos!! I'm a freelance writer aspiring to become a book editor and write fiction in my spare time so I feel like we have so much in common. :)

Hi!!! That's so cool. I haven't met someone else before who writes professionally but is working on getting into fiction. I've definitely found writing a novel to be VERY different from writing corporate pieces or blog posts, so would love any tips if you have any♥️

@@Thecozychaotic Yes it's sooo wildly different!! I've found it pretty hard to prioritize the fiction writing since work comes first and I'm often tired by the time I have free time to work on fiction😅 But it helps to change environment and make fiction writing sessions extra special. So I go to a coffee shop or something and make it feel different than work writing. Alsooo for actually writing fiction, it has helped me a ton to not let myself edit as I go. It's super hard but my #1 tip is to let go of self-editing and trying to make it perfect and just write write write because even though it won't be perfect (or even good) at first, you just need the words down! Then everything else builds off of that. ☺

It’s poetry for meee and journaling 🤍 but I’ve been getting more into songwriting, and short stories. Long term for me would be working on my poetry book or writing a short story (even though it’s a short story) lol it would take me more time or would be like a collection of short stories.

I love that! What types of things do you usually write about? I used to write a lot of poetry just for myself and really want to pick it back up

@@Thecozychaotic soo much really lol, I usually just write about what I’m thinking or feeling, my experiences and things like that but I also use things like oracle cards.
