Thank you Father for leading us to prayer and fasting. I've been trying to fast a meal every other day or so during lent. It can be a challenge at times. I will try to take you up on that challenge as we all try to make sense of this spiritual battle that so many are unaware of. God bless you for speaking out.

Pope Francis’s words are reflecting upon the reality Ukraine has suffered such tragic losses and risks even more massive ones if Ukrainian military persists. It would involve thrusting more Ukrainian men AND women into the meat grinder of the Russian offensive. Russia has a lot more power to expend, and Ukraine finds itself in a circumstance where increased NATO support bears the potential to rapidly expand the conflict to continent-wide or global catastrophe.
You must either be entirely naive or a Russian bot. Do you honestly believe that a Ukrainian surrender will stop Russia from pushing conflict further down the line?
@@willing_spirit6830 I fundamentally disagree. Understanding spiritual maladies helps us see that appeasing one passion of the soul only escalates it to the next passion. Putin’s personal passion is the engine driving this bus. He personally has stated that the greatest geo-political catastrophe the 20th century was the collapse of the Soviet Union. Make no mistake, this is about revenge and it is not about “buffer zones”. He has violated every basic agreement on decency. Why are you willing to acquiesce to the bully and ignore the victim?
@@FrJasonI guess I just wonder if now is a time to surrender to Babylon. The whole world is spiritually bankrupt, and I don't know that fighting wars is going to improve anything. I don't know that I'd be inclined to fight for my own country.
But the despondency you feel toward the situation is not reason for the Christians in Ukraine to surrender their churches, wives and children to the invading Russians. They desire faith and freedom, so why despair for them by your despondency? If it were your wife and children on the line would you be so quick to throw in the towel?
