@@Notconceitedjustbetterthanyou You're right about the recycling, but I still enjoyed every clip. Also didn't know how devastating his loss was on *just* this one show -- nearly half a mil. It seems as though the producers told certain players to needle/target Phil behind the scenes, and before gameplay to make the show more entertaining. Pretty messed up
I can't stand the guy, but he DOES have 16 WSOP bracelets and $16M WSOP earnings. The guy is such an asshole and crybaby that everyone who provides poker videos wants to show him getting beat (cuz that's what poker video viewers want), so that's what we're going to see a lot of. He gets such huge ratings on TV that everyone wants to sponsor him and so he rarely loses money out of his own pocket. I'll speak for myself and I'll guess that a lot of poker watchers have similar feelings: I don't watch him to see him win, that's for sure.
@@1218jmm it's legitimately disappointing that such a crybaby poor sport, let alone such a hypocrite, could really be consistently making it into the top ranks and winning enough to stay there. But it's straight up WEIRD that he can win with the specific faults he has. Like when he talks about his perfect reading abilities while petulantly calling on the producers to punish other players? He really does seem to be quite good at that reading even in the hands he loses whenever they're not "playing badly" while beating him. But he LOSES his money on many of those same hands because he's so easily tilted and can't believe luck is *this* against him. Like a day 1 amateur. People that are this much of a jerk, this hypocritical, this self obsessed and self pitying, this petulant... they DONT generally overcome that when it counts most. So how the fuck does this guy win at all? He really must be the genius he claims to be to overcome being such a childish chode.
Phil is 100% right about one thing: the reason his matchups with Tony G are so legendary is because it’s the game’s sorest loser versus the game’s sorest winner. Epic.
Hellmuth getting peer pressured into running it four times is one of my favourite hands ever. It makes me cry with laughter. Tony at the end is just icing on the cake.
If he legit wasn't such a hypocrite he'd be so much more well-liked. But when he so commonly insults players for plays he LITERALLY would do the same or worse it really makes you happy when he gets destroyed.
Let's be real here. That was an absolutely _crazy_ run of lucky cards for the Cannon, and if you run that same situation 100 times, shuffling the cards from before the runouts after each time, he's taking 3 or 4 99% of the time. The fact that the Cannon took 75% of the pot from the position he was in was just absolutely absurd, as if the Poker Gods looked down at Phil and said "You're not winning this time. Doesn't matter what happens or how you play it. Try again next hand." Phil, if he's as good with the math as he says he is, should realize the absolute absurdity of this string of bad beats and be willing to laugh about it, rather than pop off like some prima donna.
Phil is one of the main reasons im watching so much Poker on youtube,Just love how he shows his feelings and simply cant hold back his dissapointment over his own game when loosing, he is just being 100% human 🥰😁
i love the negreanu, tony g, laak, doyle, and hellmuth table. you got 3 of the biggest trolls and ribbers all ribbing on hellmuth. and then it balances out with doyle being supportive but at the same time cant help but laughs. it's just the perfect table of players for a hilarious game.
They got such a good cannon for it too; like just the right mix of overconfident but shy...kinda wish it was Harlow as the cannon because of how understated he was and yet dying laughing by games end at Phil
This GTO guys do it a lot these days. Maybe not exactly checking like Phil, but they do make very small C-bets that give drawing hands good odds to call.
Tony is hilarious. My favorite will always be "I played it like a set" and when he told that other guy that he was going to crush him and kill him and smashed the table
I remember when poker got super popular in the early 2000s. Buddies and I would sit around and laugh at Phil's meltdowns. It's good to see nearly 20 years later Phil is doing the same thing and people still enjoy watching it happen 😂
The way Tony just destroys Phil's livelihood in the first match is hilarious. "You're a brilliant person. You've done great. But cash games are not your forte."
@@theredditshow8951 Higgins had a 15% chance on each hand. But if you run that hand multiple times, it becomes more and more likely that Higgins will win at least one of them
@@true4439 Wow! You managed to rub two cells in that burnt out thing you call a brain to determine that was sarcasm? Good job! (That was also sarcasm if you didn't catch that too).
Lol Tony is a drunk and gets lucky he’s a horrible poker player lol 😂. He’s not good for tv and has no respect for anyone but himself. Who would wanna play with a guy like that?
That hand with Wiggins I come back to whenever I need a good laugh. Phil being the ultimate tool slow rolling this guy. To the whole table cheering as he loses each pot has gotta be one of the greatest things in poker history. Sooooooooo funny
That wasn't a slow roll. Wiggins played that overpair like it was the nuts which was pure stupidity because four players saw that flop with the 2 nines coming down - and the vibe being conveyed by Wiggins was as if he had the nuts. Wiggins played the start of the hand like he had a big pair pre-flop and Phil knew it, and had to consider that he migtht have flopped a full house with 10 10. Being that Wiggins was the "loose cannon" and playing with a huge sum of money that he was staked, and he was in a position to keep if he didn't blow it all, of course Phil's read was that he had a monster, and Phil was certainly feeling Wiggins shaking in his shoes as if he had it. And when he shoved all-in and Wiggins called he turned his hand over immediately. You people don't know what a slow roll is.
for a 23 year old Dani is pretty chill about it. A grown up would prob just take the insult and laugh it off but Dani wants to make sure his image stays clean. Im not much older so would probably react to being stupid this way aswell. But in the end as long as you win the money in poker, you should just take the insult and profit off of it in silence. So even if Dani was a tiny bit out of line, its insane to be the bigger man when you're half the Age
30:00 guy literally called with ace high into a value raise bet. Like even if you think he's bluffing with crap like a pair you have to reraise because you still lose to anything beyond high card.
Phil Hellmuth is always a masterclass in entertainment. His passion and fire at the table are unmatched! Whether it's his legendary blowups or his elite poker skills, you can always count on him to deliver unforgettable moments. This compilation is the perfect showcase of why he's such a polarizing yet iconic figure in the poker world. Love watching his highs and lows - it’s all part of what makes poker so unpredictable and thrilling!
the "that's messed up " is also a nice touch :) indeed classical poker at its finest and of course ..." look the people at home know i havnt looked " my god that is some lowball under the belt poker lol
50:53 this part was hilarious, phil is expecting the producer to give him a good ruling, but he tells him he’s on the clock.. then tony g starts laughing 😂
@@howcroft22 Relax fanboy, the entire reason he gets needled is because he's good an everyone knows it. It's the same reason they don't needle the cannons for bad reads.
Not even gonna rip on Phil here, these were the greatest days of televised poker. Now we have NPC players and pokergo. Even if you absolutely hate Hellmuth no one ever made better tv with a deck of 52 and that is an undisputed fact.
I love Phill Hellmuth's passion for the game. I'm a fan personally. His outbursts are ALL about how engaged he is with poker. I doubt you can find anyone who loves poker as passionately and wholeheartedly as him. He gets a bad rep and people seem to love to see him fail and feel bad which sucks, I think. But goddamn, he's GREAT for all things poker: TV personality, the bravado makes it interesting, his skill on a different level. Tony G is funny but a complete douchebag. I wouldn't want to be friends with him, but Phil? Hell yeah, seems like a cool guy to hang out with and he's a good guy despite being high on himself in terms of poker. But the latter I think is mainly due to how much he loves poker, him not being at the top for something he cares so deeply about is an insult to him.
@@T3n50r Phil is a legend, they were acting obnoxious as fuck. Made great TV but not the atmosphere Phil is used to. They were doing way too much comedy and he just wanted to win.
@@lulspintheblock As much calm as Phil is, imagine if they allowed to have a gun at these tables. It gives a whole new meaning to guns don’t kill people.
@@lulspintheblock Honestly if your the one getting bullied at a poker table and everyone's gaining up on you it's because there intimidated by you. Unfortunately Phil let them win back then by letting them get in his head. Whether they were doing it on purpose or not, they did it cuz they knew that's there best chance to beat him. Looking back he should take all the bullying as a compliment...even tho I've seen him do quite some bullying himself.
I forget who said it but this is one of my favourite quotes about Phil Hellmuth: "Phil Hellmuth is one of the greatest poker players of all time and if you only ever watched clips of him on RU-vid you've never seen him win a hand."
I love the different ways that people mess with Phil. Negreanu just plays around with him and usually gets ignored, but Tony does just about everything he can get away with without getting kicked out of the game.
This video is a proof Jesus did not die in vain. Hellmuth rants alongside Daniel's table talk and Tony G's random trashtalking is what makes watching old poker videos so damn entertaining. We need more players like them today!
Nothing makes me happier than seeing Doyle Brunson sit there silently giggling away at the madness. He reminds me of my late grandfather, 100 years old just living to get a kick out of spectating everyone else’s chaos
@@BeeBeeCJr he really was, he was a medic in WW2 yet youd never know it. He had the patience and attitude of a damn monk. Never once saw him lose his cool or say anything out of line. Classiest dude I’ve ever met to this day. Coincidentally he also was a serious card player lol
Phil Hellmuth is like Santa Claus; you know that he gives you presents, you've heard that he's magic, but you never, ever, ever see Santa Claus win a hand of poker.
I came in the RU-vid section digging for bronze and found gold! Wow, Phil Hellmuth blowing up for almost 2 hours isn't something I deserved but something i needed lol, thank you PokerStars
Hes like a computer. Prahlad is a GREAT player, and he was way off on what he thought Phil had. Daniel remembered how Phil played a previous hand or two preflop, and nailed what he had. Genius.
What a great cast of characters we had in these days. Hellmuth, Tony G, Laak, Doyle, Negreanu, Gus, Esfandiari, Scotty, Jungleman etc. It was fun to just hear the banter at the table.
It's a lot of bad calls and bets. With the editing, we don't see all the hands folded and the low action hands because it's not good TV entertainment. If you rely on the draw of the cards to win, you will get lucky and win at pretty much the same rate that you get bad beaten with the way the odds work. The aim of poker is to make your opponent fold so you always win without needing the luck of the draw.
@@supaplayer123 me either can sum1 explain 4 us plz, I kno we’re stupid 4 not getting it but jus hell sum bruthas out plz? Thank you I’m advance. You a real 1 if you help us out.
@@richardthomas1566 Nah, the players at these tables all play tight games and thus are able to gauge what range of hands their opponents may have by the actions they take, how much they raise, visual or auditory tells etc.
It's like Phil always knows exactly what the opponent is doing and what hand they got, but can never bring himself to fold it when he knows he should lol
I don't know much about poker but I'm enjoying the great banter and familiar faces on this show that I end up learning a bit of poker along the way. Great stuff!
Phil hands down is one of my favourite players, man cannot stop taking off like a rocket. I didn't really understand it at first until they started doing countdowns and omg. Its like NASA is announcing lift off lmao!
I've never actually watched this show but it seems like the premise is putting Phil Hellmuth through hell for fun and profit, so I hope whoever came up with it got a raise and a new office.
As Daniel has said before, poker is boring, and even more, boring to watch for the most part. You need something to spice it up to make it work on TV. Phil brings that, so while it was brilliant to put him on here, its a no brainer.
Unless the cards fall your way, from time to time, you're no better or smarter than the worst player. And Phil is the worst smartest player on the planet.
I wasn't that intrigued by poker at first but this channel got me into it with how good the videos are and how unique every player is at the table😀 props to everyone involved on this channel 👍
