@@hermanman8235 Judging by the first race, I thought the Nova had the goods. But the next two races, the Mustang proved way more car, and able to put the extra power he had to all wheels. Really a mismatch in some ways. That car he has is famous, for good reasons. It's a beast.
Just like every episode on here has been a no contest for Ken. He doesn’t like losing, so he’s not gonna race a car that has a chance at beating him....weaksauce!
at the expense of the engine integrity. Clearly, they are probably on the 3rd or 4th engine for this, as they already had one engine blow up on camera.
@@sinister5289 Pretty sure his IT dept at the BEEBOOP skunk works of the Hoonigan racing division installed a "GO PLAID Tune" code in his engine software that he occasionally flips the switch on when he needs to put other drivers in their place. Might explain why she lost a cylinder after the RS3 race #sandbagger #truestreetracer #Spaceballsreference #hooniscience
@@reidthompson8979 Yeah they'd have to put drag tires of some sort on it, and with those cars at that point I assume it would need a complete suspension retune for the different tires.
I think my favorite part of the hoonicorn is how violently it squats every time KB shifts. Not to be too crude but it literally looks like it's just dryhumping the asphalt the whole way down the track.
It’s AWD vs RWD and dudes on a full slick no matter how big the tire is if he doesn’t do a burnout he would have little to no grip cause it’s a non prepped surface and it would even be a race. You can also see that the nova has his launch super low and soft just to increase his chance of hooking up and getting traction. You gotta make the race somewhat fair no one wants to see the guy blowing the tires off like what happened with the donk. The hoonicorn is almost guaranteed to hook up cause AWD hence the lack of a burnout. And even if the hoonicorn does haze the tires Ken just drives through it and it gets traction and away he goes. No one is mentioning it cause the hoonicorn is still lighter and makes more power not even on a prepped track would the races be different tbh. The power to weight ratios are just too drastically different. They need to bring in an AWD car with similar power and weight to really have a good interesting race. Will they do it probably not but it would make it way more interesting if they did.
Yea don’t like that they changed the distance, was an interesting race but I feel like the guy loses gears or the hp/lb ratio gets him at the end at 1000. Kens car is definitely faster past 500
Watch the second race Ken caught him before 500ft would not have made a difference. The first race Ken caught him right at 500. It would not have mattered. The hoonicorn is probably a low 9 sec car
Neither one of those cars would have a chance on an un-prepped surface like this. The Hoonicorn would grenade the drive line on a prepped track. So no, I seriously doubt we'll ever see any of those match ups.
IDK they seem too legit, too fast, you know, if that car is like a 9 sec car, and ruby is like a 7 second car it wont be close. they do however do a shorter dstance, but the differnact must be too great
@@Nachomansupreme I think that guy saying he ran tens may have been a bit of a stretch? I'm sure it can run a 10 all day long also a 9 and a high 8 LoL. He had a Halo in it for goodness sakes. I don't remember but it think that's required once you break out of the 9's? Or 8's? Don't quote me because I honestly don't remember but it is a must have once you reach somewhere in that time frame I do know that! Either way that car is a beauty!!
I dont think the rest was asleep. A dragrace car has a automatic with a high stall that throws the car away like a catapult. That Ford would have been much faster with a proper automatic instead of that sissy secuental. I know drag is not the first prioritu.. But still..
Facts every time kens team loses a race they go and retune when the other races ain’t doing it. 🤔🤔🤔 run what you bring but run and adjust settings every time you get beat
@@Ridinglawnmower145 why not its got more hp than this nova rite? Nothing wrong with the novas launch here. U want everything in favour of a drag car to try and beat a non drag car ?
Haha I love how Ken has a team of guys looking over the hoonicorn, then the camera goes to the nova with dudes daughter or girlfriend looking over the car
That guys reaction is priceless “ he didn’t have to spool up or anything, he just left”. Definitely should turn that into a shirt. Idea: no spool needed
@@rhett7716 I get it, but what I'm saying is it's different when it's not your money. I love the videos and everything but at the end of the day we as normal people build stuff and hope it stays together for 10 years not 6 months. Lol
@@jarryd2018 that's exactly why Cleetus said brig the Hoonicorn to the drag strip. Bradenton has the best prep of anything I have seen. Make two videos 1. Hoonicorn getting down the strip getting a best quarter mile time then 2. Hoonicorn vs Leroy & Ruby
While I agree with you, you know they aren't going to start the serie with Hoonicorn getting stomped on. Still entertaining. I hope, by the end, they have a couple of match-ups that are the other way around.
@@lokihowell7492 i mean no. its not built to be a drag car. it just happens to be insanely fast. i dont see how getting beat by an actual drag car would make them look like amatures or be embarresing.
Both of ol Cleets girls will absolutely destroy this thing. Both cars would do low 7's and ruby probably do a wheel stand and still win.... anyways, I think we both know that haha
Mad props to the Nova owner!! He came up a little short, blew the engine, and he was laughing in the end! That's what you call awesome sportsmanship!! Take note boy and girl's!!
"That car just gets faster I don't get it" Bro, we see the guy going to Ken's car with a laptop after every run. We all get why it keeps getting faster.
I was hopeful for this series, but racing drag cars in a car built for a non-preped surface is dumb. Get on a prepped surface and all of these cars would beat the hoonicorn
@@ericxonsamuels4681 I’m pretty sure they can afford to put different axes in. The only car that is going to beat him on that surface is another 1400 hp awd car. I thought this series was going to be the other way around where the hoonicorn would fight for a win. Not him blowing by everyone every time. It’s not enjoyable to watch in my opinion
@HELLFISH better to sandbag on slow opponents than to get an actual race, right guys? ... guys? For real though, the closest on paper have been the RS3 and Rob. The RS3 would mop the hoonicorn on a tire, I believe it took the W off camera, and Rob was fingers crossed he didn't blow up on his first drive. I get the hype machine, but we need an actual matchup, one they're not worried about filming.
@@jooka2010 what are you even talking about? that car was in perfect condition. it only had to cool down since they didn't want to rip everything apart just to fit in a bigger cooler. that thing was pretty much the first car that actually gave the hoonicorn a run for its money. you might want to rewatch that episode before you say shit like that
@@patrickz7908 yeah, after the first run he told them to turn it up and they swapped the R888R for the TQ's and still lost to him in the second run. the test run he only lost by 1 car
Racing WRX would do that to ya. 500+ ponies in a purse-carrier chassis going around a track barely bigger than karts get... slow guys end up on their roofs in the first lap.
The most impressive thing about this series is how Hoonigan picks cars with more weight and less power and pretends it's a race... and gets away with it. Seriously, why is nobody talking about this? Not ONE of these races was fair. I could roll up in my Passat and they'd call it the matchup of the century. Plus, they (mostly Hert) are such sore winners: "Here's a 1400+hp, under 3000lb, awd, sequential transmission car built by a team of engineers and driven by a professional racing driver. Here's an 1100 hp, 4000+lb, rwd, carbureted car driven by a guy in his 60's.... Oh look, the undefeated car wins again! Let's rub it in this guy's face while he reconsiders his decisions and wonders how long it'll take to replace his broken motor. #MopEmUp!" what a bunch of narcissistic dicks. The thing is, Ken doesn't even seem as enthusiastic as everybody else. I think he knows it's all unfair. But Toyo probably won't let them lose.
Well the hoonicorn does keep racing less powerful heavier cars 🙄.. I wanna see it line up with some of the big awd dogs (any ugr lambo , alpha gtr , red demon dsm, speedfactory civic ect ) or hit the stip and race ruby , Leroy , the trick flow camaro ect .. but then we all know the outcomes of those races
I mean idk what you want from them lol. Last race they gave two cars and the hit. Ken's reaction time was slow as hell and the hoonicorn still destroyed. It's just a ridiculously fast car.
3a9lani that’s what I’ve been saying lol but Ken B won’t stand a chance against a UGR Lambo lol they don’t know the real street beasts out there, they ain’t about that life
Ken doesn't wanna lose... that's why he has his tuner hop in his car after every run, even if he loses one race he makes excuses and then gives her more juice lol
Seemed like that when they did the rx-7x4 runs with a hurt motor and kept turning it up. Data is data. That platform has some capabilities way beyond its simple cladding.
Leroy would SMOKE the Hoonicorn. He barely beat a 10 sec drag car. Leroy runs in the 8's and Hoonicorn AIN'T catching Leroy up top. In fact Leroy will pull away from Hoonicorn up top. The no prep will make it a little closer though.
Or any real drag car lol ... the power to weight on twins all wheel drive... but I hope they race a real drag car like ruby or a outlaw and watch that ass get busted
@Elliott Swaby The problem is, there's not many cars that can run high 8s on a street 1/4 or 1000 foot strip . K B' s Mustang is a very well oiled machine for the street. Put it on a drag strip and all his advantage is gone .
@Elliott Swaby watch this one , 8 second AWD Audi RS3 Vs Ken Blocks 1400 hp AWD Ford Mustang Hoonicorn. I can't send links but if you type in the above you'll find what your looking for .
nope its the 4 wheel drive, if it was just rwd it wouldnt hook as good and would spin through the first 2 or 3 gears, its 1400hp to the rear wheels my friend, with that going to 4 wheels its better all around.
@@gauravdevrani4298 Close ratio sequential 6 speed. Top fuel car needs only a 2 speed, since tire growth at high rpm factors into final drive ratio. 4.5 gallins of Nitro methanol in under 4 seconds in 1320 feet. Tire life? Four passes. Valve springs? Three passes. Clutches? Only the crew chief knows for sure.
You know it's solid competition when they crank hoonicorn up to race a naturally aspirated pump gas car. Maximum effort pays off. Epic footage of some epic racing
Imma say this every time the Hoonicorn wins: Hoonicorn vs Pro Stock. Especially now that he took down a Pro Street style drag car. I want to see Ken ask for a hit. lol
Pro street car with no power adder that was running 10.60s! Nova is probably a 9 second car for sure but I want to see the Hoonicorn race a turbo drag set up V8 that’s 7 second capable and see who wins! I really hope they take the Hoonicorn to a drag strip and get its ET cause I bet it’s a low 9 high 8 second car in the trim it’s in right now!!! Beast car
Why not get the laptop out? Unless you are specifically hotlapping the car there's no reason not to check data and make adjustments that's how you go faster
@@nickstalker3254 They don’t want to race against any of those legit drag racers, because they know they’ll lose and it’ll be bad advertisement for the Hoonicorn (and Forza)
