The Stillaguamish river has reached a record height today of 21.34 feet. This is the highest the river has ever gotten in recorded history. As a result many homes, farms and some businesses in the area are flooded. Many roads are impassible. In Island Crossing just west of Arlington, many businesses were beginning to take on flood waters as the river surged across highway 530.

You must live upriver on Hwy. 20? Sedro Woolley, Burlington, and Mt. Vernon is in the 100 year flood plain which requires hefty flood insurance in most places of those towns. Look up the town of Hamilton if you would like. The town has been moved to the north side of Hwy. 20 further away from the river

@woofyw.2703 Had this north across the border... I think it was a couple of years ago now. Stuff gets real very fast. Farmland on the lower end of town turned back into a huge fairly shallow lake and random flooding all over. Roads were giving way everywhere and lots of mudslides etc. Had family trapped in a gas station off a freeway that turned into an island. They and others had to be boated out for safety reasons. They almost got sucked down into a raging creek off the side of the road actually.

Maybe 48 hours since the rain started and hasn't stopped. Its not a downpour though. Its a steady solid rain that only slows to a mild rain here and there. The problem is its almost 60 degrees so its to warm for it to snow in the foothills and lower mountain ranges so the Water just keeps on running downhill.
