12 Barsa Bhadrakali Khagda Siddhi Jatra | Gathu Pyakhan: 

The final day of a year long jatra coming once in a 12 year has finally ended on the lunar calendar's bhalabhala astami. This astami is one of the four main astami of the lunar calendar Nepal Sambat. On this day the devgans try to escape from the Devgan house (Dya Chhen) and run towards Bhadrakali. If they are successful then the jatra will have to be continued for one more year. From the house they walk towards Jama:baha in Jamal where the highlight of the event takes place. At late night a special rice called Si:jaa (literal meaning: Death Rice) is thrown by Bhadrakali, Pachali Bhairav and Barahi for 3 times in a succession. On the last throw, all 12 devgans go in a dead like condition and they are carried to Bhadrakali passing through Ason where water is fed to the Devgans, then on the way Pachali Bhairav wakes and performs short dances infront of Temples. In Bhadrakali, their mask is taken off then displayed on the temple then masks are taken to Kaal Mochhan where the masks are burned.
