I love the chinese historical dramas. I appreciate the beauty of the costumes and I am wondering sometimes that those must be uncomfortable to wear. I know the male actors even develop rashes from the glue used for the wigs, and female leads have to wear those heavy, pointy head pieces. When I watch the bts of some of these dramas, we can see the actors under the scorching heat in those heavy costumes. It makes me appreciate their work more.
I myself adore Chinese dramas, and the audacity of some people when the drama comes out, they don’t like it because it doesn’t have enough love scene. They don’t like it because the costume is this or the costume is that do you know how much stress actors have to go through to bring you something for you to sit in your living room to criticize that’s what gets me and that’s why I appreciatedramas that comes out of no matter what love my boys
The costumes are beautiful but can’t the costume pieces be made with light plastic but look real. Why not film in cold weather when they have to wear heavy clothing. I appreciate the suffering they go through but makes me feel guilty watching them❤
Most dramas are filmed in Hengdian and they rent the armour from Hengdian studios so maybe it’s a case of using what’s already available. Plus Hengdian, which is usually very very hot or very very cold depending on the time of year, has about 13 shooting locations and can only accommodate a certain amount of filming crews (some shoot for a month and some will go on for many months) at a time. Because of this, dramas have to wait in line to get a spot. So in the end they only get to shoot when their desired filming location becomes available which could be in the winter or the summer, so they have to make it work. Other dramas start filming in the summer and finish in the winter depending their time line. So sometimes these things cannot be helped.
I do appreciate them all tremendously... It seems like they either film in the freezing cold, because we can see them breathing or extreme heat. Production should base filming months around the weather. Fall And Spring are the best choices for all involved.
Damn in yunxi new drama shilong (yet to be released) i think, when people saw the costume they started felling bad for him including me because that robe that hes wearing to shoot the drama looks like it weighs a ton, even the ones he wore in till the end of the moon is extremely light compared to this one, damn!! Much love to him and other actors because it's not easy at all ❤
Jeez, I just love how even though Xiao Zhan in "The Longest Promise" was ***not*** actually one of your examples of actors who were "absolutely miserable" in their costumes, you nevertheless inserted scenes of him in that drama just for clickbait...🙄
The role Dylan played I kept wondering how heavy that thing was and why they let him have it on while he was already inside the castle. It was just such an exaggerate outfit, you can see him sort of picking up his feet or wobbling in the scene where he switch souls with the girl. He probably set free he played that scene really well btw
