One of the best car accessories has already come and gone. Maybe 10 - 15 years ago one of the Japanese car makers equipped their cars with a built - in solar panel that would either trickle charge your battery or could be switched to operate an interior fan to keep your car cool on hot days. I don't know why that didn't catch on, I'd love one of those right now.
I'd rather have regular mirrors than cameras. Cameras make it feel more artificial while mirrors reflect the reality as is, which I like. But I think it's a matter of personal taste, though.
Plus the camera has many electronic parts, a failure of any one could disable the camera; with a mirror, you pretty much have to get sideswiped to lose the function, and a camera would have the same outcome when sideswiped but cost far more to repair or replace.
I came here for the (in most places likely illegal) windshield mount for the amateur radio head and find out they are only promoting the discontinued radio that I already own!
@@UnchartedMarine It's not the radio; it's the mounting on the windshield. Most places have strict limits on size and location of window-mounted objects; a full size dual-band radio head would be too large. Again, local laws vary so in some places it would be OK.
Very interesting video and well produced. But PLEASE inform people that they need a license to operate the Amateur Radio because to do so without a license carries a very substantial fine by the FCC. I used to be with an organization that tracked down people who used Amateur Radio Transceivers without a license (very easy to do). The penalties includin seizure of equipment, fines and other civil and criminal penalties
They can kiss my grits for wanting that on anyone buying one of these. They offer these as gifts checking out of stores sometimes--especially during holidays.
News Flash, you won't have any blind spots if you adjust your Mirrors CORRECTLY. Other than having the back up camera to show what is directly behind your car while backing up, you don't need cameras all around your car.
If you adjust your side mirrors so that the sides of your own vehicle are barely showing on the inside edges of those mirrors, there won’t be any blind spots. Why? By the time vehicles in the next lane moves ahead and outside of the side mirror, it would be visible within your peripheral vision. If they are slower, once they are out of your peripheral they are in the side mirror and eventually your center mirror. But that’s assuming people use mirrors. With a snowstorm coming, let’s count how the drivers out there driving without clearing snow off their side mirrors and back windshield.
@@SmallSpoonBrigade Extremely true. If you set your mirrors properly, you will not have a blind spot on the sides of your vehicle and will not have to turn your head when changing lanes. Simple way to do it is to sit normally in the seat, position your Left mirror until you can barely see the rear of your car. Then tilt your head to the left until your ear is as close to your shoulder or toughing. Then adjust the mirror until you can see just the tip of the rear quarter panel of the car. Then repeat the same on the Right side of the car. You will then see a car approaching from the center rear view mirror. Once that car travels on either side of your car, it will disappear from the center mirror and then appear in the left or right side rear view mirror. As soon as the front of the car disappears from the side mirror, it will be next to you and you will be able to see it in your peripheral vision and then continue to be seen clearly by your eyes. Same in reverse as you pass a car or object. I've been using that technique sine I've been driving, back in the 80's as a kid on a farm. Never sideswiped or had any sort of incident like that.
That laser at 6:20 will get you a ticket in many countries. Displaying stuff on the road while driving is distracting for other drivers and in most countries you are only allowed to have 2 red rear lights on while driving.
Dudes. The Yaesu ham radio is not that old, only a few years. Also, It is a HAM radio, so not just anyone can use it. It is not a CB radio, but requires testing for a license in order to transmit without huge fines from the FCC.
I think it would be helpful if pricing could be listed after describing item. I know it’s available thru the link, but more would click it knowing beforehand.
Amazon is listening to u at all times. I only shop there for uncommon stuff right, if its common I get it from the store. Well we had a ant problem for awhile and I verbally told my girlfriend "yeah imma take care of it and get some ant traps" I didn't text her this, I didn't tell her over the phone, I told her in person. Guess what shows up in my Amazon recommendations the next day... Ant traps...
Back in the mid 1970's it was a kids toy called Slime, green and I think there was an orange colored version. Came in a plastic 'trash can' container. Made by Mattel. Wierde out the girls in grade school by pretending to 'sneeze' all over your hands or arm, then chase the girls to 'wipe' on them.
To whoever is reading this, You are loved. You are blessed. Your dreams are manifesting as we speak. Time is on your side. Everything will work out in your favor. May you find more love, peace and prosperity❤❤❤🙏🙏
Best part is they are promoting this incredible radio worth more than $600 next to rgb cup holders. And that model isn't even in production anymore... Ridiculous video.
@@greenvillegreer247 Geer, learn your frequencies.. 14mhz is HAM bands.. and unlike you CB'ers, you need to pass a test and get a FCC license to operate in the HAM bands.,
I would be careful with the tire chain. It is illegal in some provinces/states. Always check with your local authorities before you buy anything for your ride.
@@XCHDragox115 It is easy to separate which is winter and which is summer tire, so police can stop you and give penalties (usually 100 euros, but if you endanger other people, you get penalties depending your income). Then here is tire raids. Tire conditions are also checked in annual vehicle inspections. But you can't even go anywhere here without winter/stud tires so... :) Also having studded winter tires in summer is illegal because it causes damage to asphalted roads

The red laser light could be illegal in a lot of countries because a lot of them don’t allow people to fit red or blue lights to your car as they could be used to make other people stop thinking it’s the police.
Looked for the rear view mirror and "4 camera" where you show the link to Amazon. I clicked it and it only has a front, inside and rear camera. Can you pleas e provide the link to where you show the front, right/left and rear camera setup? Thanks.
let me throw my hat into the ring! do you have an older vehicle? does said vehicle has a cassette tape player? on amazon (and other stores) you can get bluetooth (and auxillary respectively) cassette tapes! i have one and have been perfectly happy! (didnt have to buy some new fancy radio either when i have a working oem one in my 1991 f150)
The yaesu 857D is discontinued however you can find them around. YOU NEED TO BE LICENSED! the learning curve is fairly steep and the antenna needed to take advantage of all the radio’s capabilities is not cheap. Get licensed become ham it’s a cool hobby.
Bud. Amateur Ham Radio needs a license from the FCC to use. Do not buy that Yaesu head unit and just start talking on it. Ham radio enthusiasts make it a game to find people transmitting illegally and you will get fined. Upto $10,000 fines to be exact. They can very easily find where you are transmitting from, no matter how smart you thing you arr
That's the Amateur Radio Service authorized by the FCC. The FCC has given the general public FREQUENCIES and BAND SPECTRUM for our use. It is not for COMMERCIAL use, but for operators who did it "for the love of radio," hence the AMATEUR wording. IT IS NOT OLD FASHIONED! MODERN AMATEUR RADIOS USE CUTTING EDGE TECHNOLOGY AND SURVIVE CONDITIONS THAT KNOCK OUT THE COMMERCIAL CELL PHONES AND INTERNET.
@@KevinBogan TRUE! AND you MUST NOT use it without the proper LICENSE, as 100 WATTS of POWER OUTPUT (as is in that transceiver) can be somewhat HARMFUL if not used properly. Not to mention the fact the INTERFERENCE that can be caused by somebody without the KNOWLEDGE to USE THE RADIO PROPERLY transmitting... I have a Technician license in Amateur radio, and it is easy to get. It is fun, too. I want to upgrade to general... If you want an "old-fashioned" transceiver in an automobile, try the CB RADIO...
If anyone reads this comment without an amateur license, and has a love for electronics, look into getting a license! It will be fun and rewarding, and you can even help your community in an emergency! Not to mention the fun of building radio-related electronics, and the people you can meet over the air!
I've got one installed on my Android-based stereo. There's a little Bluetooth dongle that you plug into the port which transmits the data, and an app on the stereo displays it. Kinda handy.
Peenutzz I've had one in my car for 3 years & it's great. No commercials, music type that you like, plus it answers any questions that might pop into your head like, Alexa where is the nearest dispensary?? Just bought a 2021 Tacoma & it's built in..just need to set up your phone. Why pay for a service if you have this..
You need a license to sell poses and use these radios. Also no one will talk with you if you don’t have a license. If you access a repeater you can catch another charge. This is not the toy FSR or any of those things you played with as a child. Just ignore the silly sales pitch.
At 2:13 In order to use this amateur radio you have to have an amateur (ham)radio license. You forgot mention this fact! Also your showing a totally different model radio than your link is pointing to!
1. Soccer mom must have 2. Botnet for car 3. Glorified chewing gum 4. Thing you will never actually use 5. RGB for car, red gives you 10% more engine power 6. Lol just learn to use your mirrors 7. Ricer wet dream 8. Get better tires 9. Ricers alreay have this 10. Only possible in Russia now in 4K 11. I wonder how many people check something else with this thing
You might mention that you need a FCC amateur radio license to use the Yaesu radio. Otherwise you can be fined $10,000 and can spend up to one year in jail. 🤪
Specifically, to TRANSMIT on Ham bands. You can listen all day long, and we hope that you get the Ham bug! Also, this particular rig will receive CB frequencies, so it is good for listening to other drivers, whether you like their "message" or not...
When I clicked on the link for mirror cam, Only the 2 cam version was shown. What is the model number of the 4 cam version shown in this video, I would prefer the 4 way view mirror cam instead. Thanks
Does anyone know where to find the product for the side view camera along with the mirror (the full setup)? I'm looking at buying one but cant find a full solution like they showed on the video where you can display side views along with rear all on the same mirror.
U can go to car stereo store and ask them. If u already have the product they can install it for u but if not they can find one for u. The price is depending on the brand u choose.
@@johnstover9083 I'm running the 857 as my mobile with the ATAS antenna. Thinking of replacing it with a dual band and a better antenna and using the 857 for EMCOM and POTA.
what is required? many years ago my whole family had CB radios. now.... good luck getting anyone to answer the phone. Censorship is sure on the rise. why would anybody support impeding communication? to hide stuff they don't want anyone to know about? Smell's fishy Sir and I'm not on twitter.
The Communications Act of 1934 (the “Act”) prohibits anyone from transmitting “energy or communications or signals by radio within the United States except under and in accordance with the Act and with a license.” CB operators are not required to have a license because the FCC’s rules authorize their operation, but only where that operation otherwise complies with the FCC’s rules. However, one of those rules is that “CB operators may not attach external radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers . . . to certificated CB transmitters in any way.” The FCC assumes that a person is using an amplifier if it “is located on the individual’s premises and if there is other evidence showing that a CB station was operated with more power than allowed by the Rules.” Under this test, the FCC found that the Oklahoma resident operated his CB station with the amplifier since the agent saw the amplifier at his residence and the signal coming from the home demonstrated “that his CB station was operated with more power than allowed by the Rules.” The base fine for unlicensed operation is $10,000, and the FCC has discretion to increase the fine based upon the circumstances. In this case, the local FCC office had previously sent two written warnings to the resident warning him that using an amplifier with a CB transmitter violated the Communications Act and the FCC’s Rules. Because of this, the FCC determined that a $5,000 increase from the base fine was warranted and imposed a fine of $15,000.
Please people, stop giving out incorrect information. That is what's wrong with the internet today... too many people just throwing out what they believe without knowing the facts... YOU DO NOT NEED A LICENSE TO OPERATE A DUAL BAND RADIO!!! First... anyone can enjoy receiving (listening) on any frequency. Second, MURS frequencies can be used to transmit and/or receive WITHOUT a license so go enjoy 151.820 THROUGH 154.600
I think its rather irresponsible of you to post the radio without make it EXPLICITLY clear that "amateur" refers to a FCC LICENSE amateur radio operator and use of the radio WITHOUT that license of subject to HEAVY fines. This aint CD or toy walkie takies.
You did not mention that you cannot talk on an amateur radio without a license. That is something that has become a problem lately is that there are people buying ham radio transceivers and talking on them without a license resulting in problems for those like myself who are licensed by way of these people interfering with communications by licensed radio amateurs who are helping during natural disasters. I am all for people joining the hobby and getting their license and getting on the radio but I don't like people getting these radios and talking on them without any knowledge of the rules.
