Welcome to an unforgettable journey deep into the Yukon wilderness, just 500km south of the Arctic Circle! Over 12 incredible days, join me on this solo, unsupported 375km paddling expedition that will leave you breathless and inspired.
🚣‍♂️ With just over 2 years of paddling experience, I tackle the untamed wilderness, starting from Quiet Lake and concluding the expedition in Carmacks. This solo adventure is packed with awe-inspiring moments, from conquering 3 lakes to navigating 2 powerful river systems: the Big Salmon and the mighty Yukon itself.
🎣 Get ready for a true outdoor enthusiast's dream! I encounter and cook up beautiful fish such as trout, grayling, and pike, indulging in the taste of freshly caught grayling, fried to perfection. It's a wilderness culinary experience you won't want to miss!
🌦️ Mother Nature doesn't hold back, and neither do I. Experience the thrill of facing intense weather, including lightning storms, hail, and heavy rain, where setting up camp becomes a race against time. Some days, I succeed; others, I embrace the wild rain.
🦟 The mosquito-infested first 4-5 days will have you living vicariously through my bug jacket as I battle clouds of persistent mosquitoes attacking any exposed skin, a testament of resilience.
🪵 Logjams become formidable obstacles this year, requiring portaging through thick willow, brush, and undergrowth. These challenges test my mettle, making every paddle stroke a victory.
💫 My spirits run high throughout the trip as I discover breathtaking camp spots, including picturesque river islands that offer open-air bliss and respite from the mosquitoes. The deep silence and solitude of this pristine wilderness create moments of absolute bliss.
🌅 With the Yukon sun rising before 5 am and setting after 11 pm, the long paddling days are filled with opportunities to explore crystal-clear mountain creeks, go fishing, or simply bask in the purity of the wilderness. Sunny days mean swimming, laundry, and immersion in nature's beauty.
🔥 Distant wildfires add a touch of surreal beauty, filling the air with a hazy, smoky atmosphere that enhances your sensory experience. I take advantage of open sites to enjoy panoramic views and even set up my hammock in treed areas for stunning river views from my sleeping quarters.
🦅 Wildlife enthusiasts will be thrilled! Witness over 10 beavers, chipmunks, woodpeckers, otters, ospreys, and the majestic bald eagles. Plus a graceful black bear crossing the river!
🎣 Fishing enthusiasts, you're in for a treat! I caught over 15 grayling, trout, and several pike during this epic solo journey.
Join me on this exhilarating adventure of a lifetime as I shatter the boundaries of my comfort zone. The Yukon wilderness is waiting to be explored, and if I can do it solo, so can you! Hit that subscribe button, and let's embark on this unforgettable journey together!
🌄 Don't forget to like, comment, and share your thoughts on this incredible adventure! And as always, stay tuned for more exciting expeditions! 🌲

Dude. I have to say that this is some of the best canoe and commentary footage I've ever come across. Your enthusiasm, sense of humor, and shots are amazing! Hope you keep up the unbelievably solid work. Hope you get to do more trips like this and share them. I also love how you talk about the mosquitoes! Too many people who document these kind of trips, make no mention of them really. Way to keep it real. Ditto with the portages and log jams. Don't change that. I love to see the reality - easy and hard. You rock.

Just finished the whole video. I started following Jim Baird about 3 years ago and was pleased that he was your inspiration. That first abandoned cabin was a place he stopped at. Your videos are excellent. I felt like I was on the trip with you. There is something special about untouched nature and I loved your enthusiasm on animal sightings etc. I look forward to checking your other adventures.

Awesome to watch this again mate. Such a beautiful record of how amazing this Planet is, and our small part in it. But when we get out there and hug the sky, the reward is breath-taking. Good show my friend, many thanks. When you are an old man you will have some super interesting stories to tell around the fireplace. Keep taking us with you :)

Couldn't agree more!! Planet earth is stunningly beautiful. Infinitely complex and sophisticated, delicately balanced life across species . If only we treated it with the love and respect she truly deserves! Hopefully the grandkids will be interested in hearing and seeing these stories then! 😍👊❤️

Great video, very nice content and well filmed, nice to see you respond to most comments, hopefully you'll have so many subscribers soon and won't have time to respond to all :-) anyway, I'll watch more of your work, well done! one more thing, I heard you say in another video you took inspiration from Jim Baird, I can see the similarities but you have your own style, nice and relaxing and just as good.

I will always read them though that's for sure! I appreciate your comment and got it, be Eze not Jim Baird - agreed :-)

Amazing trip. I see videos of Algonquin where people have food barrels hung, taken by bears, and yours is right there never touched! Only ever used bags up trees so I wouldn't know. Eze look for Nutritional Yeast unfortified(no b12) or fortified(b12 but some say tastes worse) and Hemp hearts. They are probably all the vitamins you need plus fat and some protein etc. The yeast has all the B's and more. The hearts good on the go and also packed with the vitamins.
@EzeAdventurer
@EzeAdventurer 7 месяцев назад
thank you!! Yeah it's hard almost impossible to hang food there in some areas. Also it's so wild that bears rarely see any humans and because there are no set campsites, they hardly develop any habits of wondering in looking for food etc. In some ways it's safer than more trafficked areas. Thanks for all the vitamins tips on hemp hearts and nutritional yeast, will have too look into it and try to incorporate!!

I'd love to do a video covering the gear, I just feel the RU-vid algorithm pay end up punishing me as gear videos don't tend to do so well... Hopefully will get a chance to cover it all sometime soon! Thanks for the support!

Please do not drink unboiled or unpurified water. Just because it looks clean does not mean it is safe. Regarding fishing, place the lure so that it resembles food coming down from the creek, not from the bank toward the stream. Regarding bear spray, spray it in an arc in front of you so that the bear runs into the spray. Bears move so quickly that aiming at the bear means you are already 2 to 3 feet behind the bear. Love the comments, the drone footage, and your can-do attitude! Good luck.
@EzeAdventurer
@EzeAdventurer 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for the tips!! Regarding the water, I had local knowledge also on the creeks etc. Thanks for the fishing tips sounds logical ! and the bear spray arc also makes sense!

Azmaing wicked cool adventure and specaculat scenery, all but the damn nasty mosquitoes, Sir. But… please don’t give Bear Grylls so much praise or credit as he was outed for his fakes series Man vs Wild, like the drinking water from elephhant dung which one of the camermen poured a bottle of water on it to make it look moist enough to drink from, one of many many many fake scenes that was outed and/or was actually staying in hotels, and for saying he "hated this survial shit" on an episode. Les Stroud is the real deal and is a real survivalist, like so many others on RU-vid, like Jim Baird and yourself are far more respectable real adventurers and are the real deal over these so called celebrities that the networks fake or set up scenes for tv shock and awe, and/or are not actually survining in the wilderness. Cheers… keep on having more wild adventures...🍻
