He was emotying catch from fishing nets when he was bitten. Then his idiot employer made take a shower before he would treat him, and didn't immediately contact emergency services. Probably his bosses fault he wasn't wearing gloves. It was being investigated.
As to the motorcycle helmet protester: the man who taught me how to ride would always said, “If you don’t wear a helmet then you really don’t have anything to protect.”
You forgot about the 5 men who went to the wreck of the titanic in an experimental sub that wasn't rated for that depth, had no safety testing and the owner fired experienced people to save money and to have a more "diverse" workforce
Lol I’ve seen this narrative about firing the dissenters who worked for him because they weren’t diverse enough and it’s complete bs. He fired them for telling him he was wrong. Flat out full stop. He wanted yes men on his crew not trained engineers who would prevent him from taking stupid and unnecessary risks.
he also told several outside engineers they were full of shit when they tried to warn him about his stupid design. who's laughing now? not his kinfolks, for sure, or the families of the others who died in that bullshit excuse for a sub. carbon fiber, for fucks sake, anybody who's ever played with that shit coulda told him what a dumb idea that was, but nope, he was a mad genius with mad skillz. so now, he sleeps with the fishes.
@@gwauk205it's mentioned in nearly every documentary, especially ones that co tain interviews with the very people he fired for telling him he was wrong. How about that? You can check to see if this info is out there, before looking like a complete idiot.
I don't remember where I heard or read it, but someone said that if you go to Australia, it is safe to assume that everything is trying to kill you. And I've never been, but believe it
I was a medic for 10 years and we called motorcyclists “organ donors” or “donor cycles” especially when they won’t wear helmets and other protections when riding!
And having properly designed helmet is also necessary. I had a friend who died in an accident because he was wearing a decorative helmet that didn't provide any real protection. The doctor said that he would've survived if he had the right helmet
You'd love Barranquilla, Colombia: from guys (entire families) without helmets to guys that use the same sort of cap to some that use helmet, wife that doesn't use it TO -in order, from front to back - man, baby of months, kid, wife! Only in Cozumel, Mexico, saw more people over a bike! My brother was a surgeon at the local hospital: dude, he was busy! As for the idiot of the saguaro, he was "lucky" it was just a branch...a one-ton saguaro over him and they'd bury this bloke in a postal envelope.
Need a national law. If you ride a motorcycle and choose not to wear a helmet not one red cent of taxpayer money shall be used to take care of you after your accident. Why should I pay for stupid people making very bad decisions?
On the subject of motorcycle helmets. A friend of ours took his 6 year old grandson for a ride on his motorcycle. Well a lady pulled out in front of him and the little boy was thrown about ten feet and landed on his head. He was ok, he was knocked unconscious but didn't sustain any major head trauma. The doctor's told his mother if he had not been wearing a helmet he would have died. So helmets do save lives.
A helmet is in he difference between a concussion and a concussion plus a fracture and laceration. Basically it will save your head from becoming a cracked coconut though the brain will still get concussed.
Helmets aren't always what is best. I do think on any mode of transportation moving at high speeds a helmet is necessary and worth it, but I do question how much a helmet protects riders at recreational speeds like on a bicycle (not referring to mountain biking). The majority of head injuries suffered when falling from a bicycle are rotational head injuries and increasing the size of your head can execrate such injuries. If you suffer a frontal head impact the bicycle helmet will protect and help you but the more likely scenario is that you will suffer a rotational head injury when falling from a bicycle.
I have researched this extensively and it is getting more and more common. People with narcissistic personality disorder usually have parents that never discipline their kid at all and blame someone/everyone else for their bad behaviour.
It's called "water intoxication". I knew someone who died from it in 2001. She took some really strong ecstasy pills and drank like 4-5 liters of water in a couple hours. She started having seizures and died when they took her off life support the next day. The kidneys can only handle about 1 liter per hour effectively, go higher than that for a couple hours and it can be trouble. Every case I've heard of the person drank at least 3-4 liters in less than 2 hours. Not sure what exactly happens but i know the excess water builds up and can cause pressure in the brain which can lead to seizures and brain damage.
Blame the radiostation for that, they had bin warned by incoming phoncalls and she told them she was feeling sick and they pushed her to keep competing. Its sad, she was a struggling single mother.
I loved the loved the unnecessary end of the sentence "He decapitated himself. And died..." NOT "He decapitated himself and has to now live 1ft shorter..." 😂
Skyscraper guy tempted fate every time he showed off. Fate it's like a crocodile laying silent and invisible waiting just for the right moment then gotcha don't tempt fate.
He was told that the glass was unbreakable . (It’s an old story). It was reported that every time he banged into the glass , he thinned it . He obviously wasn’t very intelligent and probably very arrogant . Bless him. 🙏 The poor group of people who witnessed him going through the glass 😱😱 BTW Great analogy you made !
@@brandireneecrosby5361 His name was Garry Hoy . The incident happened in 1993 almost 30 yrs . I’ve read numerous articles & seen a documentary but about the story but I’ve NEVER heard that it was because of his watch the glass broke
It is amazing how many laws we have to make to protect people from themselves. All the new warning labels so that companies do not get sued for peoples ignorance 🤦♀️
I’m a motorcycle rider for about fifty years. I can’t think of any time riding where I feel I don’t need a helmet. Accidents happen so fast. There’s no shame in wearing a helmet. I don’t understand how someone as a parent tells their children that they have to wear a helmet when riding their bicycle. I really believe in setting an example. Good habits are formed by their parents, bad ones as well.
the bit about helmets not preventing accidents is ridiculous. as you say, accidents happen so fast. it's like when people shame others for wearing life jackets, like, yes i can swim but i might end up unconscious. i don't care how fast your reflexes are, even going 25mph and crashing you won't be able to stop your head hitting the ground. i don't care if i don't crash my whole life, i'm still wearing a helmet, jacket, and good shoes even to go down the street
truefax dat!! my stepdad had the remains of a leather jacket on his living room wall the whole time I knew him. it was pretty damn shredded, but enough of it stayed intact that he only ended up getting intermittent road rash. still took several months to fully heal -- but because he had that jacket on he got away without needing skin grafts. the day he crashed it was about 90 degrees F, but he still wore the jacket anyway, and the docs told him it might have saved his life, and definitely saved him several months in a burn ward getting grafts and healing. I've never forgotten that jacket, and never will. as for helmets, fuck yeah. I've already had too many concussions. not interested in dying that way.
I rode for a bit over 30 years. In the first week I got hit by a rock just above the visor that took a good gouge out of the helmet. You bet I always wore a helmet!
A friend's brother died years ago from his helmet. He had a full helmet on and the coroner said when he went over the handle bars and hit the ground that the helmet was in the perfect spot to unfortunately break his neck. He said it's one of those things you don't really see.
Sounds like he unfortunately was screwed over either way...the helmet somehow contributed to him dying and yet without the helmet he would have probably still died but also have been in much worse shape physically...that's a shame.
@Hury Springer Riiight, whatever you say 🙄...with your unintelligible, all over the place, weird BS comment. I make it a point not to get into it with the mentally impaired 🤪 so I won't say anything else except wtf...smh? 😒
The group of people who saw the lawyer fall to his death , probably sued the law firm for trauma . And so , the partners didn’t have to pay out , they declared bankruptcy ! Oldest trick in the book! (Not the glass trick, the bankruptcy one 😬)
There was an incident years ago about the helmet law where a biker attached his helmet to his knee. He of course got pulled over & the biker's attitude was that the law says we have to wear a helmet but it didn't say where. After several minutes of argument the cop finally threatened the biker with arrest so he put the helmet on his head. Two days later the biker got into an accident & his knee was shattered. He sued & won. True story
@@quills21 I was wondering the same thing, the entire story kind of sounds like BS to me. Every person on Earth knows where a f@$king helmet is supposed to be worn. I doubt some asshole biker won a case because he messed up his knee in an accident due to not having a helmet on it...smh. It wasn't even an issue that the helmet was on his knee either, the problem the officer had was that he didn't have one on his head! 🙄
The whole debate about enforcing or not enforcing a helmet law, and the same for a seatbelt law, I think is more about some people wanting to fell like their can and do force their will upon others, with a so called "for a good cause/reason" so no one can call them out on being power hungry ego maniacs. Statistics show in 2018 US citizens: 556 people died in plane crashes 4288 died in motorcycle accidents 50% of them wearing a helmet, so 2144 died without a helmet, and 2144 died with a helmet The number for car accident deaths is up somewhere in the 30,000 mark, BUT, those numbers include the motorcycle deaths, car/pedestrian deaths, car}vehicle/car}vehicle* death, solo motor vehicle/no motor vehicle deaths *car}vehicle car = a for public purchase multiple passenger vehicle vehicle = any vehicle for purchase to the public and/or to government and private businesses that can carry passengers, cannot carry passengers, has 2 wheels, 3, 4, 6, 18 wheels and anything in between. Saves life or does not, as adults people have the rights and ability to make that choice for ourselves. Until a child becomes an adult certain safeties should be taken... No killing baby while in womb or once outside of it. The government says as adults we are not allowed to take our own life in any way, but it is okay for women to take their unborn child's life before it even gets a chance to take a full breathe of earth's oxygen blend We can be terminally ill as adults but we cannot make the decision to leave early so one is not in pain and dying soon. They send our young men and women off to war no matter how many helmets and seatbelts they give one, they are extremely likely to die. What the government is saying and telling us, is they think they have the right to tell us what we can and cannot do, yet they will run deadly experiments on various populations, of course we know bout gas chambers, and all one comes across during war on top of all of that,
Exactly. What about those 700 refugees who drowned.Seems if you have money your death is more important. They were trying for a new life -maybe those on the submarine could have spent their money much better and could have helped others. But spent their money on an "Adventure"!
btw....people should not have the "freedom" to not wear a motorcycle helmet because when they suffer a catastrophic brain injury, exhaust their insurance and their family's ability to pay for care it falls to the state taxpayers to provide care, possibly to the end of their lives. I did a paper on this in college. I visited a Washington state institution and met some of these people.
Yeah, but that goes for everything. If people get obese, they are highly likely to be a burden to the system - so that’s 1/2 the country right there. If they drink, if they do drugs, etc etc
I heard about David grundman. Absolute poetic Justice we don't need dip sticks like that. If he was caught he would have been shot. If the police catch him he would have went to prison for shooting a saguaro cactus.
#5 a literal example of "cutting off your nose to spite your face" lol friend says "he died like a man" well I'm not questioning someone who can actually think that way. I like living. Be safe everyone & take a moment to think before you get carried away.
I don't think the guy who did the atomic wedgie should've gotten 30yrs...ppl who premeditated a murder and killed ppl don't even get that long ... I think 30yrs is WAY too extreme
@@mazoongawar3365 I'm Canadian but I agree that it must be American law With every state having diff mandates its hard to keep track altho the ONE thing they have in common is their laws make no friggen sense ...
I appreciate this narrator added "feet" to the description of measurements in these stories..all too often,I find videos that just have "meters",and I'm in the US. Lol of coarse,I can do the approximate Math, howev it's just convenient to have both..😉 big Thumbs Up 👍
@@KenitsoIt was stupid but if you consider the way the handicapped population in Korea face so many obstacles to get around that it often takes hours to reach distances that the able can get to in a matter of half an hour, if not less. In other words, odds are this man had been foiled many, many, many times ago in trying just to get around. So this was the culmination of plenty of frustration.
I’ve met several Aussies - all have been great and friendly folks. But it seems to me - just about everything in their country wants to kill or eat you!
I had a fellow soldier who got into juicing decades ago when it was new. His favorite was carrot juice actually and said it was addictingly good and his skin did have a slight orange tinge lol. Hope he's okay 25+ years later.
How in TF does that guy get 30 yrs for giving someone a wedgie and it killing them when he on obviously didn't think it wouldd when child rapist and murderers get half that time everyday 🤔🤦
There was a Player's League team called...the Cleveland Infants? That's hilarious. Shame that naming trend didn't catch on or we could have had the Minnesota Toddlers.
Aren't some of the cases instant Karmas? Such as the guy crushed by a falling cactus while shooting at it, and the biker killed from head injury while protesting a law requiring helmets for riding motorcycles. So many unbelievably stupid people out there.
I wouldn't say the first one is a dumb way to die, it's tragic really. Doing what he loved but just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time to encounter that sea snake.
For some reason? I would say the reason is very obvious. They were drunk. Besides what did he think would happen when he swung the chainsaw, that it would magically stop working.
I worked for an attorney back in the 1970s on the 18th floor of a building downtown who would run and throw himself up against the glass window in his office. He was fortunate to have survived and the window held.
I wonder why when we are young we think we are invincible. That drinking and driving program to warns teens about drinking and driving is probably a very necessary program to show teens that they are indeed not immortal. Weird how we grow out of that as we get older. When I was a teen I had no problem watching those videos where someone falls and breaks a leg or something but now I can’t do it. I have to look away I can’t watch stuff like that anymore. I love horror movies but only supernatural anything gruesome like slaughter flick I don’t care to watch.
"Red Asphalt" scared the fuck outta me in grade 10. one of the things was the paramedics picking up a body and plopping it onto the gurney, and the head wobbles and you could see the whole throat was sliced open all the way back to the bones. two kids in my class barfed and one kid fainted. me, I just made damn sure to be careful driving!! it wouldn't have scared us so well if it wasn't made from real footage of real dead kids. I wonder if they still show that in driver's ed class, or if the squeamish folks got it banned?
10:03 the Polish men that were injuring themselves with a chainsaw reminds me of ask it Billy Crystal used to do on SNL. He would say "don't you hate it when you put knitting needles into your nipples and wind them up, let them go, & they spin around and hurts?" That's just one example.😂😂😂
😂 one of this guy's friends said as a child he put on his sister's underwear but he died like a man. Kind of a passive aggressive statement. Nothing like outing the poor guy about wearing his sister's underwear when he was a kid. Geez😂
why is it called dumb ways to dies ,when the first guy was not being dumb he was working and got bitten through no fault of his own .so i do not understand how that can be classed as dumb.
I should feel bad about the guy with the cactus. But I feel more sorry about the cactus 🌵. I guess he was wrong in thinking the poor cactus couldn’t fight back. I wish I could say I am sorry he passed but I just can’t
13:23 "The law firm he worked for described him as one of their best *and brightest* " - if so, I can only imagine what the dumber ones were like 🙄 And the fact that the law firm went under a dew months later might be an indication that, indeed, the "not best" ones were in fact no_bloody_good.
Number 5 wins the Darwin Award for me. Swinging a chainsaw at your head? WhT could possibly go wrong. 1 guy sliced part of his foot off so the other wanted to 1 up him?
If the bites of a sea snake are rare, than it clearly wasn’t his fault. Nobody could predict such bad luck happening and a lot of unexpected things can happen out at sea
I knew we weren't going through this list without "Florida man" and excessive American representation. "American exceptionalism" does not mean what some people assume it does.
I’d haunt the friend quoted saying that about the playing in the sisters undies and but dying like a man if I was the crazy person that decapitated myself.😄
