The fact they took cassidy stun and knew they had to rework into a healthier ability and somehow through rigorous testing and vetting came up with an aimbot grenade that is the highest damaging non ult ability in the game

Here are a few more: Dva without Micro misslies. Mercy without Valyrie. Roadhog couldn't move while healing. Lùcio wallride changed to be easy. The Archive Events When there were 4 hero catagories. Junkrat with only 1 bomb.

Does anyone else remember when they first introduced divas micro missiles? She would say 'bang!' every time it was activated. In team fights with two divas we would just hear periodic back and forth of bang! bang! ... Bang! .... Bang!bang!

Remember when Sym's primary fire could pick up and carry small objects if it wasn't locked onto anything? You could attach your turrets to a basketball and carry it into battle. It wasn't effective but it was at least kinda funny.

checks out. I quit OW1 some time after goats became meta because it was awful. then I came back for OW2 and currently the game is in a much better state. almost quit again during season 2 only because hog existed and was making my life awful.

Coming from a McCree main, you at least had to be somewhat creative when it came to flashbangs, like leaping it over Rein's shield or trying to miss on purpose to hit a deflecting genji with AOE of it, now it's a one-shot to the chest + a nade and that's a kill for most, it's pretty boring, and this entire game is progressively getting worse.

Funny you say that cause push is still way more balanced than 2cp Push gives a massive advantage to the team that wins the first teamfight and winning the first 2/3 teamfights basically decides the winner early in 80% of the games But even that is more balanced than 2cp

I remember those crazy montages with Hog swinging heroes around with his hook. The hook was broken after some update and it was a miracle to not see the big guy in a match. Devs patched it pretty fast, tho.

I once for a sextuple kill in the end of OG OW with a Junkrat ult last second save of 2nd point Anubis 2CP. Literally saved that match, I felt goated.

You can still get a sextuple kill with a mercy res and it is my ultimate goal in OW2

Me too. Would be very hard to pull off. It would require you to kill someone and for mercy to immediately start rezzing them, and while you kill the rest of the team (including the tank of course, which is hard) you'd then have to come back and kill the mercy as well as the person she razzed. I imagine it would be possible with a Genji nano blade or a hanzi headshot, followed by a mercy Rez, as zarya gravs their team and hanzo shoots his ult at it.

as a former symmetra main, goats was actually a good time for me, piercing barriers to hurt and sometimes kill the squishies hiding behind it, zapping down lucios and bb dva's with my lock on beam, forcing my way through chokes with her push barrier then shattering the choke position with a cheeky portal behind enemy lines. ah, good times.

He's alot better now. He takes skill, but the recoil really fixed him. Before, you had to suffer from bloom, which made aiming a pain. Now it's easy

I think two cp can be reworked to be more similar to the starwatch event going on right now, FOUR cp has a very different feel to it and has the potential for a more dynamic sense of progression where steam rolls are far less common, the timer would need to be reworked to prevent games lasting ages due to a defensive stomp but that’s a direction I could see taking the capture maps into the same game length territory as payload hybrid and koth

yeah the fire was just fun, but the medals were so toxic bc ppl would lie and cope all day saying they have gold hero damage. I mean people still do that now with the scoreboard but I can confidently say it's not as bad now that we have more transparency of our teams performance.

afaik they are working on bringing on fire back, im pretty sure they also said something about it in a blog post (also, if they dont bring it back, why would they not remove the voicelines from existing heroes and especially, not record new ones for ow2 heroes) thats how i knew they would be bringing it back eventually

There is literally nothing fun about being on the receiving end of a guaranteed 1-shot. Nothing at all. 0 counterplay. At least the homing grenade gives you a chance to live. You're definitely a Cassidy player that could never get kills with anything aside from stun + right click

2 capture points were awful. Either prolonged choke points or you just get rolled. Really its more due to the map design though. Those 2 capture point maps were the first to be made and were way too confined, especially for a 6v6.

I am one of the people that miss that 2 cp since it was so quick compared to mlast other games and the maps that came with here were nice I would love to have it brought back and make the distance from one point to the other a little farther to help it be a little more equal

I'm pretty sure the 6 reins are the same group who started trolling toxic players by going 6 torbs or 6 syms and making them rage. also, apparently controversial opinion: 2CP was always better than KotH and GOATs wasn't the beginning of the end, the DPS powercreep was. KotH is and has always been boring, and I say that as a Lucio player. it has my least favourite map (Busan) and even winning doesn't feel good because you're either rolled or get rolled. I adored 2CP. Temple of Anubis was a fun map. Volskaya was a fun map. Hanamura existed. Idk. I liked defending on Hanamura. Push is just KotH but the point can move and say 'hello' to you. we've lost diversity in the gamemodes. GOATs was a response to the powercreep of DPS heroes. DPS heroes have been steadily getting stronger since 2018 and tanks and healers have stagnated or been nerfed to let DPS flourish with minimal pushback. the attitude was, 'I can't survive against the DPS as a DPS, so what if I go tank?' and then everyone started to have that thought and a new meta was born. funny how role lock only came in with GOATs, not 3 DPS which had been plaguing the game for years and united everyone in complaining about it the entire time. also funny how they looked at a meta born of 'we can't do anything if we have smaller health bars' and decided the problem was free will. we got rid of the 3 DPS metas eventually!

I think the thing I miss most about old Overwatch is winning 3 times as many games as I lost and not dropping rank. Idk what Overwatch wants from me now since I go 5-2, drop a rank, 5-1, drop a rank.

while overwatch 1 definitely had its amount of problems, just the pure nostalgia factor of overwatch 1 makes me miss it so fucking much. i really wish i could just go back in time and experience it as i did for the first time in 2017 on my brothers xbox

U can still get a sixtouple kill, I played a game where it happened, first down was the Moira, mercy started the rez, then soilder died, them sombra, then rein, then Moira again and then mercy, I heard the announcer say double kill, triple kill, quadruple kill, quintouple kill, sixtouple kill . It's possible, it's just really fuckin hard

Who remembers Torb that gives out free armor it’s like an additional 50 hp. As well as the ultimate where there is level 3 turret gotdamn it’s like and overpowered bob bc it shoots missile and then torb with the 800 health plus the sped up repair and movement, it basically makes the turret immortal lol

None of this was for og overwatch players. Most of those changes were for the switch from overwatch 1 to 2 and you called it og. You didn’t talk about reapers souls, Sym as a support, bastions shield like real og players remember

The sextuple kill can be archieved still, you have like 2 or 3 seconds to link them and i think Bob and destroying dva mech counts as eliminations, i think flats did one recently

10:00 goats was definitely not the longest meta!! That goes to double shield. Double shield lasted like 4 years. Only ended coz of overwatch 2. Goats ended with role queue

all of these are great but the workshop part is just kind of wrong. the workshop community is no longer just 1 big community but instead a ton of different communities that can get quite large. most popular custom games have very large community discords and are quite active

imo overwatch had its issues but was a good fun game until goats. them not nipping goats in the bud because owl was soooo important singlehandedly like…. killed the entire scene. i dont know anyone who still watches owl… there’s a bit i like about ow2 but ow1 just felt…. so much more rewarding

You can *technically* still get a 6k if you kill someone, quickly kill the rest of the team as mercy reses the first person and then kill mercy and thr person who just got rezed, but it's very difficult to pull off

i remember my dad and me playing the beta for overwatch bc he used to play world of warcraft and i was like 5 or 6 and i am so glad i got to play it back then and i still play it now (i am still unranked :(. )

Honestly as a new player, bring 2cp back and make 6v6, push isn’t balance either if you get majority of way, for the enemy team its almost impossible to win that game.
