I'd love a review of the TW3.

I ran the tw3 in a custom designed ported box. With 700 rms it was merciless.

So many new players in the market, but JL is still top of the game. It's very clean, well defined bass throughout. There is a simple acid test for how well the sub dilineates bass, play a natural plucked double bass instrument.

I have shallow mount L7T kicker subs. The shallow mount squares pound and are amazing

zero experience with any of thsese but i'd love to try the rockfords, always loved rockfords. I do have experience with the kicker cvt 12 and they were pretty decent aswell. any recommendations for a small box in a small car?

What amp would you remember for the TW3? And, can you get any CT Sounds Mesos?

I like these kinds of videos, but I think the X-max of the subwoofer should also be showed because that also has a lot to do with the output.

JL tw3 all the way, but unfortunately you can probably build a whole JBL or RF system for the cost of 2 JL subs alone lol. Still love JL!

u 4 got the fqz -hz 4 the JL. I like JL and was a dedicated user for over 20yrs but JL is now over priced now for even there low end products they pull the price of high end lines sold by say Kicker or Rockford. thanks for sharing

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I have been searching for shallow subs for awhile. More on the higher end. I'm currently running 2 P3's and wanting to change them out. What's yr take on Hertz new shallow mps 250 s2. I was also considering the Jl tw-3 as well but instead of running 12's I wanna use 4 shallow 10's on this build.

Great review. I am looking for a sub myself, but something that is good, clean bass, can be punchy when i need it. I am also trying to reserve space, and also keep in mind, I am not keeping this car forever since I am in Japan, and may be returning back to the states in 2-6 years. Do you know anything about the underseat subwoofers?

Can you invert a shallow sub? Lol the JL would look good inverted 4 12s inverted behind the seat in a single cablol

Should probably talk about more than the specs on the box. What's the XMAX etc because frequency response doesn't really mean anything coming from the company. Especially lower end companies like Power Bass. Also if you're running your subwoofer higher higher than 80-100hz or so you're doing it wrong lol.

I'm incredibly torn. I really appreciate anyone, be it manufacturer, retailer or industry 'tuber bothering to put out aftermarket ICE content. The market is just so small that I find it difficult to believe it's worth the effort. That being said, I'm uncomfortable with a video that presents itself as a product tour and then becomes a sort of review, but some of the information contained inside it is borderline at best, and flat out misleading at worst. Chiefly: Saying that a sub that can play up to 600hz is somehow superior to one that only plays up to 250hz. Any car audio sub should be crossed over at 80-100hz *absolute max* so the frequency response above that is of no interest whatsoever. Covering the mounting depths while omitting the recommended enclosure size is missing the point. For example, while the JL sub is deeper than the JBL, it actually requires a smaller box, so may be *more* suitable in applications where you have less space! I'm sure that someone in the CAS team knows all this - they must have forgotten more about car audio than I'll ever know! Please keep putting out this kind of content, but people will take your word as gospel so maybe get one of the tech boys to review the script before filming? Looking forward to the TW3 video - they *are* monsters!

I'm not sure the JL which is 85db sensitivity will play louder than the JBL which has nearly double the sensitivity !

You forgot one of the most often highly rated shallow subs out there. PIONEER. 12" rated at 400 rms.
