Steve I have 2 HDMI 2.1 ports on a 120hz TV will this work for me when my soundbar is in the Arc 2.1 HDMI and my TV is plugged into cable box to other HDMI port. I need a 2.1HDMI port for my PS5 but since my TV is plugged into the cable box how can I make this work?
People where buying them and trying to connect 60Hz audio extractor just to find out that the EDID lowers the display to 60Hz then they got an influx amount of returns. After that they pulled the plug for now.
Any suggestions on a 4 to 8 HDMI switcher (preferable 6 to 8)? It doesn't have to be HDMI 2.1, but would like it to be 4K, 60hz, and auto-switch capable. If eArc capable would be great too. Thanks.
Did you get a chance to try the auto mode on this? With the ps5, series x, switch and Apple TV all plugged in, each one cab switch its own own inputs with cec control. For example xbox home button switches to xbox or ps button switches inputs to ps5. Does that work with this on auto mode?
Thanks for this Steve. It reminds me that I need to upgrade my 5-port 4K 30Hz splitter preferably with something 60Hz or higher and HDR. Especially now that I am considering upgrading my older sound bar which is limited to optical with something that supports ARC (my TV does not have eARC).
Does this work with xbox at 4k,hdr,120hz vrr?? I Bought one that support only 4k,120hz,vrr but no hdr (xbox says it does, but it actually dont work) did you check in the tv if are all the specs working?
Aww no earc support I already have a switcher hooked up to the non earc 2.1 port for my ps5 and series x. But I need one with earc support for my apple tv 4k and zidoo Z9X I have coming in a few days for mkv playback with full enhancement layer dolby vision profile 7. My soundbar only has 1 passthrough port.
I am using Benq QHD monitor with bulit in hdmi switcher , but it takes 5 seconds to switch between two laptops displays, it need it to happen instantaneously
what if I purchase the switcher but my tv dosen't have hdmi 2.1 input but it does support hdr10 and hdr, will it work if I purchase this switcher with 2 hdmi 2.1 cables one for the out put for the switcher the other for my ps5
Hey, thanks for the info. Is there a splitter like this which also gives the option to have a female USB port? The reason is that I want to extend the Bluetooth range by plugging the USB adapter to a splitter like this. In short, I want a splitter which takes hdmi 2.1 input and then splits this input into a hdmi 2.1 and USB port.
Ok this I might need please tell me b4 I order it today I have the lgc1 tv and the xbox series x and ps5 with a hta5000 sony soundbar when the xbox connects direct to lgc1 tv it won't play dtx audio only dolby atmos vrr and allm . It only plays dts x and dolby atmos when connected direct to soundbar but u lose allm and vrr support because sony hta5000 didn't do a update . So will this work for me
so I bought a unit try to test the input with the fire stick just to make sure all inputs work properly all the sudden the screen of my tv turned green with bars then a circle of my tv was spinning while the green screen was on then it went back to normal will that damage my tv I have a samsung series 7
GOOD AFTERNOON... I REALLY NEED YOUR ADVICE. WOULD THIS WORK ON MY WEMAX PROJECT. IM TRYING TO CONNCET IT WITH MY SONOS ARC BAR. AND IM NOT GETTING ANY SOUND AND IT SAYS NO AUDIO OUT PUT. PLS HELP IF YOU CAN
The switcher I purchased is not Orei but works pretty well. The funny thing is that, for Xbox, it is able to display Dolby Vision gaming but not HDR10 gaming. I wasn’t able to find out why. For the PS5, HDR gaming does work.
Nah it is not. They do offer a 2x2 switch for 8k60hz, 4k120hz. Although I’ve been looking for a splitter because I have the Philips hue gradient light bar with a LG OLED CX 55” and a PS5. It’s nice to see that bypasses for the limited 2.0 Philips. So I can have the best of both worlds.
Any ideas if this works with longer hdmi 2.1 cables? I'm using a 5m one with the PC and my TV. Unfortunately the TV doesn't find signal when I try and use game mode, so no 120hz or HDR. When I plug the cable directly into the port without the switch, I can use game mode and have these features. It's really frustrating, I must have swapped cables, plugged and unplugged dozens of times and now I'm worried I could damage my only 2.1 port on the TV :/
You have probably resolved this by now, but I tried something very similar. 5m is your maximum really for passive cables but the switchbox does not qualify as a signal boost so you would need to move to 1m + box + 4m etc.
Hi Steve! I need this exact splitter, but reverse. 1 in to 2 outs HDMI 2.1. It's because I've my PC with Radeon 6700xt with one HDMI 2.1 port, and two tv's with HDMI 2.1 (LG BX and Samsung Qn90B). I've been searching for a long time, but there seems to be only one Display port to HDMI 2.1 cable in existence, and I really don't know for sure if it works to prevent me from using these splitters. Thank you so much for your hard work and help always!
@@TechSteve because if it’s backwards compatible it should work no, because the Sony A9S doesn’t have VRR or ALM or an hdmi 2.1 at that but it has the ability to do 120hz so Idek what happened
