Hey good evening Laurie! Thanks! I am really glad I spent so much time comparing and doing diligence before I bought. I sometimes get too detailed on things but glad I did in this case. Cheers and have a great week!

Laurie Harding I can't imagine Kubota, or one of their large dealers, aren't supporting this channel with all the multiple types of NEW machinery on display and...... if they're not.... this guys nuts 😂 because he's their best advert on the net. One thing tho amongst all the amazing uses for these machines so well presented - up the height of your flail mower attachment. When you see fine earth come out with the organic mulch.... you're doing the implement no favours ✅ just a suggestion

Good day and thanks very much for the kind comment. I am happy if it helped a little. I loved that little workhorse but most recently traded it in for am LX 2610 with a cab (the cold is starting to get to my old bones. :)) Good luck with your tractor decision and all the best!

Hey good evening Tony. I am happy it was helpful. The sub compact and compact tractors are certainly pretty remarkable little workhorses and help those of us with small to medium sized properties. I love this tractor and to date, still have not found any issues with it, but have accomplished a whole lot more than I used to. Not to mention, it is pretty gratifying not having to pay someone else to look after things anymore. And to be honest, it is still, after a year and a half, a lot of fun. LOL. Thanks for tuning in. Cheers and all the best!

GP, You were not kidding about how complicated the process is for a first time buyer. I started convinced w/ the B2650 then started seeing comparisons w/ LS, Kioti and Mahindra...all of the outperforming the Kubota one way or another. Heavier, cheaper, more loading capacity, more hp, etc., etc. So I went back and forth several times w/ my indecisiveness. But every time I went back to this video, saw again and again what the B2650 was capable of doing which was perfect for my needs. Price difference wasn't that significant to make me go to the other brands so finally pulled the plug and purchased one....still hesitant because everybody says that get as much hp as you can afford:) I want to thank you for the great reviews, I think you saved me some $$ in the long run...if it doesn't work, they resale value is a lot better to go higher:)

This may be an older video but I just stumbled across it while researching a tractor purchase. I fell into the bigger is better trap but after watching this video I’m re considering. I’m on a 10acre property with about 1/2 being forest and other being field and house. Your video just nailed what my needs are. As a long time subscriber I can’t believe I missed or likely just forgot about this episode. Thanks for opening my eyes up to a more affordable and likely more suitable option.

From Australia, love your vids, I have a BX23S on 5 acres of bushland and find it fantastic for mowing tight spaces but just a little small and underpowered for everything else especially the undersized 4 in 1 FEL which carries only a full wheelbarrow load of soil, the compact seems more capable without being too big.

Hi I bought a Kubota b1620 21months ago and what you do with yours is tame to what mine does. It's a brilliant little machine, I've dug ditches,ponds,made a hedge, carried furniture moved chicken sheds on back forks towed a trailer with 1460kg of straw and hay on it through 1foot deep mud no problems.plus normal stuff.and it's got no backhoe as they not available in the UK for Kubota. Good videos by the way.

I have a B2620 which I bought mainly for a lawn mower. As a lawn mower it is fine but nothing spectacular but that kind of a task is not what you buy a compact tractor for. I also have some other property that has to be brush hogged and I have had to do some loader work. These are the situations where the tractor comes into its own, the thing never stops amazing we with its capabilities. For its size it is a beast. I would say do not underestimate a compact tractor. Obviously there are times when you need a bigger tractor but for smaller parcels of land they are ideal. A bigger tractor on a smaller piece of land sometimes could be just to big to maneuver.

I have been on the fence between the B2601HSD, L 2501 and the kioti CK2610. The ck was eliminated when I tested the loader it’s extremely hard to do 2 functions with it at the same time. I finally got a good price on a B2601HSD now if the dealership can find one I will be happy. They have sold 5 so far this month. Your videos have been a big help and kept me from buying a tractor that is to large. Thanks and have a good one 👍🏻

Good morning Mitch. I think the videos go down better with a good cup of your favourite. It's my first tractor as you know and it still surprises me how much it can do. And I agree. Wish I could post pictures here, but my B2601 will lift 275 gallon IBC totes filled to the last horizontal support (8 inches from the top) with green beech wood 4 feet off the ground. That's 25.6 cubic feet of wood (1/5 of a cord). That's 1,382.4 pounds of wood. A B2650 could probably lift a full tote but I like keeping my lawn intact when driving over it. I needed a light tractor to handle firewood without tearing up the turf and the B2601 fit the bill perfectly. If it does the job you need it to then it's the perfect machine for you.

Update on this: I ordered the pressure test and shim kit from bxpanded and found out my b2601 was at the low end of the recommended pressure (about 1890). One .3mm shim later and we're at 2000 psi. Now my b2601 will lift full 275 gallon IBC totes 3 feet high. Loving it!
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 лет назад
Wow Dave. I guess you would need to put a lot of weight for ballast on the back. I haven't confirmed this myself but someone had mentioned that the front axle has a maximum weight rating of around 1300 lbs. I haven't talked to the dealer about that yet but the load curves in the manual seem to show that the tractor lifts more than that. So not sure that makes sense. Anyways glad it is working out for you. Still 100% happy with mine too! Cheers!

Just bought an L2501 for my 31 acre property. So far it’s been great at everything I’ve asked of it, from box blading my road, rotary cutter for the pastures and front end loader for moving dirt. Summer in TN makes me wish I had a cabbed tractor, but it’s only really hot for two or three months of the year. Just wasn’t worth the added expense for me.

My brother bought a new 2019 Kioti 26hp tractor and I was impressed with how capable it is. It seems to have the right amount of power to do everything, and it surprised me that he only paid something like $32K Canadian for it. We also have a Bobcat B300 backhoe, with a 46hp kubota motor on our property/cottage. It almost seems too big for most projects, but my father in law loves it too much to downsize lol. Hi GP, I decided to watch this as I hadn't seen it before. Great video of all the things you do with your B2601. I own a Kubota B7200 with a geared transmission. When it cam tom to replace my Ford 4000 Loader Tractor, I wanted a machine with a hydrostatic transmission. There was one huge reason why I didn't even look at a new Kubota. It was the rocker pedal for forward and reverse. I tried my brothers BX24, and I had a bit of difficulty every time i wanted to go into reverse. I ended up with a Rural King RK37 hydrostatic with a cab, and I love it. Smaller than the Ford and easier to transport. No more trying to keep my hands and feet warm while plowing snow! But I still have my Kubota B7200!

You get some really good use out of that grapple! Thanks for the great video. I'm considering the 2301 & 2601 myself. For the $1,000 difference it's probably worth going with the 26 even though I don't have any immediate needs for PTO power. Just loader work.
@GPOutdoors
@GPOutdoors 5 лет назад
Good morning Cap'n! Yes that grapple is my favourite attachment. I can use it for so many different things around the property. If I could offer, I would agree with you if the budget allows it, to get the 26. I understand we will have our tractors for 15 -20 years or longer so I think having that extra power and PTO may serve you well later on. When I was doing my research that led to buying the tractor, I had made a list of things I thought I would need the tractor for and honestly, since getting the tractor, I have realized a lot of other things I do now that I never even considered I would do before I bought it. Good luck and let me know how it turns out! Cheers!

Love your videos, and it looks like you're getting good use out of your tractor investment. I just purchased a Kubota BX2380 earlier this year with a front mounted snow blower and a mid-mount mowing deck. The dealer was surprised at my choices (specifically the snow blower) until I told him I lived on a sixth of a city block and just wanted something that fit my frame (I'm a big guy) that I could mow with in the summer and move snow with in the winter...and hopefully be able to grow with me if I ever am able to get the property I want. What I ended up with is probably too much machine for what I have now, and not enough for where I'm going later...but I do love it! Never had this much fun doing chores before. I guess that in itself made it worth the investment. The wife just shook her head (that must be a thing with wives)...but quit giving me so much grief when a neighbor about five blocks down got one too!! Keep up the good work on your channel!

Good evening Michael. That's a great story. Loved reading it. So funny. But congrats on the BX. It sure does make doing work a lot more fun. Plus you are going to find a dozen other uses for it that you never even thought of when you bought it. She will be super happy when some of those new projects are for her. And there will be. :)) All the best and be safe!

So many people around satisfied with a B2601!!! It's indeed a great machine. It has most of the capabilities of the larger series and yet the agility of a compact one. I am glad you enjoyed Tractorman's channel. I hope I can get more time to watch more video between a few flights and welding projects! Thanks!

Awesome video. I've watched a bunch of videos on compact and sub-compact tractors, and most of them just have a guy walking around and talking about knobs and levers. I want to see the tractor in action. It really gives me a much better sense of its capabilities. Not sure I'll be able to afford a Kubota, but maybe a Kioti or New Holland with similar specs.

Here's something else to consider, I have an M6800 on the farm but it's to big to work in the wooded areas and it's more difficult to trailer. I want this B2601 with the grapple bucket to clean the woods plus with a mid mower I can use it at my house. I think this will be a perfect fit, thanks for the review. If you're not on the Kubota payroll you should be.

Hi GP, I've followed your channel pretty much from the beginning. Your upgrade to the LX2610 came with lots of comments about transmission whine. So I decided to watch this episode again. The difference in whine between the models is significant. With the B2601, the sound of the engine was always dominant, with a slight whine in the background... that's in every segment you shot. I'm ready to finally get my new tractor. The choice between these two models has been most difficult. I am giving the B2601 a second look. Wish I could get the deluxe seat on that model. I love your channel and your unbiased reviews. Keep up the great work!

Good stuff simpleton. I have to say, that to this day, I still regularly am surprised how much capacity these compact tractor have. Probably just my own pre-supposed opinions but they pack a punch. For a small property like my 4 acres, it does it's job, but for sure , if I had more property I would have looked at an L or M series. Cheers!

The temptation is always "Go Bigger" so you have more capability, but people don't often think that by going too big, they actually start to lose usability. Climbing on and off, less ability to maneuver in tight spaces. Everything getting more expensive and so on. If at all possible, try borrowing or renting something first and trying it out. Should help you see how much you actually need.

Great points made each tractor is made to fill its nitch. Looking at what you're doing you had a good salesman who directed you to the right tractor. Anything bigger you would have had trouble going in among the trees.

Thanks for the video. Pricing of Kubota tractors in Australia pushes one towards an L series tractor. They start at around $23k. That would be for a basic one without a front end loader. $31k will get you a L3800 with a 4 in 1 loader. Meanwhile BXs start at around $17K without a loader and go up to around $33k with a loader & backhoe. The B series start at around $21K and stay around $2K lower that the equivalent L. I’m looking at the L as there are some attachments I’d like to get that would be too big for a compact tractor. I do like the smaller Kubota tractors. They are so good looking & so useful.

another informative video, I live on 5 acres with a nice mix of woods, yard and a small pond. I purchased a Kubota BX 23S with a 60" mowing deck and brush hog. It comes with an integrated backhoe. So far it does everything I've tackled and is maneuverable enough to get my chores done. Your suggestions are spot on. I did find the limit for my FEL when I loaded a 660 lb wood stove on my pallet forks and transported it to my front door. it got it done but would not lift it another inch. lol. Have a great day. We are supposed to get our first snow of the new year this weekend here in Ohio, Cheers.
