I enjoyed this video. I was writer/director/designer for Road to Wrestlemania mode on SVR 2009, 2010 and 2011. Here are a few fun facts from my time making those games: - We had to pay $10,000 to license the Chicken Dance because I wanted Vince to wear a chicken suit in the CAW storyline in SVR 2010. - Comedian Paul F Tompkins (Mr. Show, Bojack Horseman) voiced the trainer in SVR 2011. - In a cutscene for the Rey Mysterio storyline in SVR 2010 (the club scene), Austin Aries did motion-capture for one of the Bellas. - Other motion-capture performers included Colt Cabana playing Triple H and Cesaro doing Jack Swagger. Cheers!
so my sister comes in my room an says eddies dead im all ya i buried him alive yesterday, she looks confused then serious an says he had a hart attack hes dead. im atheist but 11 years an that day still creeps me out thousands of gamers probably all on the same day, experiencing that iv probably never been more connected with humankind before or since.
Everyone probably already knows this but big show got cut out of WWF no mercy and was replaced in the story mode by Steven Richards. there's a GameShark code where you can unlock his face and create him. Show was also cut from Smackdown 2 and if you play the Royal rumble match he appears with the name Unknown.
That does make a lot of sense and FFNY should get a sequel. Because I used to play that for hours and made D-Mob my bitch on several different occasions, Including tossing him out of a window.
There's actually another Chikara game being made, called Chikara: Action Arcade Wrestling Made by a developer who also made Action Arcade Wrestling 1 and 2 on the Xbox 360 indie store, they're pretty damn good games with infinite CAW slots. The new one is PC only I'm pretty sure though
It was, Still one of my favorite matches from that storyline. Ironically though, I played through The Undertakers storyline in SvR 2007 the night before Benoit's Double Murder/Suicide... It was a very strange week for events afterwards. Still get goosebumps playing it.
they still haven't beat the playability/fun factor of the N64's THQ's various titles up to WWF No Mercy. it amazes me with today's tech that they can't match those.
The earlier SmackDown titles are way better. I hate the simulation style game play and always loved the faster pace and arcade feel of the first four to five SmackDown games.
yeah, I noticed that with the PlayStation they were keeping the SmackDown name. With Xbox they started a Raw series and Nintendo consoles had ppv titles.
Raziel Talos WCCW Had My Fellow Countryman -Gentleman Chris Adams. I Only Started Watching Videotapes of The Territory in The Early to Mid Nineties and Instantly Became a Fan.
Yup. The Von Erich family has quite the death curse on them already (they're the Kennedys of wresting), and it'd be insane if the one who survived fell victim to the Taker video game curse
@@futuregohan4837 Just to be that pedantic wrestling nerd (and because I did some research since my original comment) I'll point out that he wasn't in WWF European Rampage Tour, which was released after WWF Superstars 2, the first game to feature Taker. So technically he hasn't been in every game since he made his video game debut. But that's me splitting hairs; on missed game out of dozens is still pretty much every game haha.
What about the other cancelled games?? such like: -WWF Backlash -WWE Smackdown vs Raw Online -WWF Survivor Series -WWE RAW 3 (Became Wrestlemania 21) -WWE '13 for the Wii U
actually taker was in superstars 2 which was released in August of 1992. Steel Cage challenge came out in September 1992. So please edit the video and repost it giving me credit for that. jk good video man. I enjoy your channel.
I can't help thinking there were some scams going off to make sure rival WWE products were made to look worse. Look at WWF on the Amiga, then during the PS2, Gamecube and Xbox era.
Only 4 Super Stars have been Present in the Main WWE Series (SmackDown!, SmackDown! vs Raw, WWE and WWE 2K). Those 4 are: Triple H, Edge, and the Brothers of Destruction (The Undertaker and Kane)
There was also a barbed wire ropes match and a match in a car park cut from Legends of Wrestling. And an early announcement was a Texas Scaffold match, which would have been a first.
number one, why is Mark talking more like Big Evil than the Deadman in that voice over? Number two, after knowing what happened with Benoit and his family, that line sent a shiver down my spine.
dude like right around the time this video came out, Mike Quackenbush was on Taz show, and he announced a Chikara Video Game. I think it was the same name as the one in this video, but it basically is going to be more like an old school arcade WRESTLING game, with slight comic book style, slight fire pro wrestling style. seems legit enough
anytime I see one of these countdown list I automatically click on it not because I'm interested in seeing what the countdown is but because for the first minute I want to hear the guy introducing the video tell me about how much he likes facts....
It's odd that AKI (now named Syn Sophia) is now behind one of the animated idol franchise known as Pretty Rhythm and Pripara along with Takara Tomy where at around 1990s they're synonymous with good wrestling games.
***** kinda off topic, but try to watch those series that I mentioned. They look cute and deservedly so. They made a wrestling related game last year, but only for mobile, and it's for japan only.
Arcade version of Royal Rumble - you could beat anyone with Big Boss Man if you knew what you were doing. We (like 20 people) used play this between class at the U of MN student center basement. Ah the many days of class missed playing Mortal Combat 1 and 2, Street Fighter 2 and 3, Tournament Cyberball 2081 and WWF Royal Rumble. Heck we even had a CyberBall tournament against U of Cal Berk for 5K
Supposedly, almost every single cover superstar (or at least one of them in those with multiple people) has been injured around the time the games has come out since SmackDown vs Raw 2006. Heard this somewhere a while ago.
Didn't WWF make Owen Hart their World champion in Attitude's Story Mode? I only played through it once & was amazed to see him as the defending champion. It was shortly after his death
WWE SmackDown!: Here Comes the Pain's roster is very interesting and I would love to have those wrestlers in the game. I could make 3 Minute Warning the world tag team champions, Hulk Hogan the WWE champion, Jeff Hardy world heavyweight champion and even form a tag team with Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio. But unfortunately, they got removed.
I remember the Eddie/Undertaker storyline but I played it with a CAW I remember feeling a bit weird about since Eddie was dead by then. I didn't know about the Benoit/Undertaker story though and I played both games.
WRESTLELAMIA very true. You the only one so far I feel that can do these videos Properly. You do so much research. Those behind the titantron videos are very good too.
I know there have been some attempts, but I do want a real big alternate wrestling game option other than WWE. I'm just looking for something different
Dave Knows Wrestling not that long ago i read about some kickstarter of sorts that was gonna have a couple of indy stars in them.i saw joey ryan, young bucks, and a couple more.hopefully it will not be as disastrous as 5 star wrestling..
I just wish instead of having to download this and modify that (which to this day I still can't get right) that the modders could just release the No Mercy mods as separate roms.
I hated Playing the Eddie storyline in SVR 06 as I got it after he died. It would have been interesting to see what the PS2 WCW game would have been like if it was exactly like Def Jam vendetta we would have been in for a treat.
