@@TRC19999 I miss Yuke's. Still pissed 2K took them off developing the games to develop it internally. It's the same way the UFC games have been utter crap since EA took over development.
Superfly shifted 3 inches mid air to do his frog splash, the ref stands still and wobbles after the 3 count. The entire game is a load of 3 gen ago dogshit😂
And the PS2 WWE Shut your mouth if you play anywhere falls match you can literally go to backstage, boiler room, car park, underground railway tunnel, so many hidden areas also where you can fight in that game!
The old one didn't cheat you out of a counter the old one had an immersive branching franchise mode and was fun without the need of universal mode and all those other Bs modes that are thrown in in spite of its horrid gameplay
Sad to see the career mode is still so barebones. Kinda wish you had the whole branching storylines that were in the older SvR games. Going from point A to point B and talking to NPC C over and over gets very old and it doesn't feel like your decisions do much aside from steer you in one direction.
@@leonardonotdicaprio853true if you like an old game you should........ Never play the new games?? Huh, that sounds kinda strange when I say it out loud
The WWF attitude era will always be my favorite. I had a WWF N64 game that everyone in the neighborhood played. Just bring your N64 memory card, and it's on! Things changed with introducing Smackdown, then the name changing to WWE.
Coming back to wresting games since not playing since SmackDown vs Raw 2007…it is refreshing to come back to an upgraded franchise with the new graphics and mechanics 17 years later.
The reversals are definitely harder this year. Multiple times I had where the reverse button would pop up, I press it and it says too EARLY like how. But I’m getting better with it
It’s getting there hey. The realism is starting to happen. But it’s always the animation that catches up with the high standard of 3D models. Still a bit jittery. But I know why. When you get two separate animations which are about to interact, they need to align, then execute their action. Not easy to get right. This why sometimes you see the models of the wrestlers floating towards each other.
Thanks for the info. Just made a comment wondering why the animation seemed so stiff and not fluid. Weird that they can often get it right in one-on-one fighting games and not this though (which this essentially is).
Also worth mentioning, most of the if not all motioncaptures are not done by the wrestlers but by a smaller group of actors/doubles, who may have a different physique than what the wrestler has. LA Knight used to do the animation captures for a ton of wrestlers and he is a pretty big guy, so they all sort of moved like him, even though they should be more nimble
@@WraithHeartNot to be too blunt here, but you really think just about anyone could get in the ring and wrestle without hurting themselves or others in the process?! That's just idiotic thinking. Also, just to let you know, there are so many things that you learn from anime, there are very realistic animes about cooking, judo, ping pong, bullying, etc. which actually simulate real life pretty well, there exists anime other than just the mainstream anime.
My issue with showcase mode is the constant cutscenes interrupt the game play every 2 minutes there’s a cut scene & if you take a look at all the objectives on the side you must do you’ll find yourself pausing & checking out the control screen more often then not to figure out how to do certain moves. Show case feels more like a chore than anything
i had alot of fun with 2k23 last yr after not playing a wrestling game in quite some time. Glad to see continued steps in the right direction. Those Smackdown HCTP/SVR days as a kid are long gone but its nice to have fun playing wrestling games again !
@@hypn0298facts I didn’t come back until wwe 12 lol. I loved that game especially the universe mode truly one of the best If not the best. Don’t know why they won’t simply make the current universe mode like it
I doubt they would ever do it but I would love to see the green shirt guy in the crowd where he always is I think it would add another small layer of real life to the game
@NewJerseyNets11 throwing weapons feature is so overrated and doesn't even justify the game either. Only used it like twice and forgot it was even there.
these games really need an AI overhaul. you need to have distinct personalities. too many wrestlers feel exactly the same and its just their animations that differentiate them from each other. some wrestlers going to the top rope, being hard to lift, and some just leaving the ring to grab a weapon isnt enough. fire pro got this better so many years ago
I’m replaying Here Comes the Pain atm and even back then you could feel how distinctly different the characters feel I.e. Brock, RVD, the Rock, Goldberg, Angle etc etc. Kinda crazy that they haven’t been able to capture that in recent years
This stuff was already figured out during the 16-bit era and was perfected during the PS1 era especially with the Fire Pro Wrestling games, that even left the whole AI portion of the game wide open for you own edits to fiddle with (there are really long and in-depth yt videos just about Fire Pro's CPU logic settings). Some Fire Pro Fans even simmed and finetuned their creations to mimic the real behaviour of wrestlers when controlled by the CPU without actually playing the game itself. But this also shows the priorities of the devs of the current generation, when essential (and well documented) features like realistic behaviour is neglected in favour of micro-transactions and other predatory schemes instead.
That and opponents are pretty general and dull minded. In stipulation matches they automatically gun for the objects after putting me down, or prioritize getting another weapon when there’s multiple already around. They definitely should consider those little quirks more often, it’s what makes a match feel less mechanical. Also throwing me out of the ring just to throw me back into the ring, that one makes me want to cry every-time
in hctp, chris benoit did always his taunt before going to the top rope for his finishing move. undertaker had always his streak combo and goldberg made his taunt when the opponent was down and then gave him a spear when he got up
between the massive roster (possibly the biggest in a wrestling game ever) and all the improvements and new match modes this is the best wrestling game I've played in years. Everything else is just the cherry on top and I for one am very happy with this game.
I'm still playing smackdown vs raw 2006 on ps2. 2k24 looks good so far. I'm glad to see some classic wrestlers. Hopefully, they will continue with more classic wrestlers. Also, hopefully, they go all out on the customizing ability.
Just bought it . Currently downloading. Looks so good me and my wife are gonna have a blast. We been playing battle grounds on the switch not the best but still load of fun
I really feel like I’ve got my moneys worth with this game. We were all hoping fight forever was going to be great and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t feel like they were ripped off and not listened to who purchased it This is a great wrestling game that has a lot to do both single and multiplayer
I think these are the best they've been since the PS2 days and I highly recommend them. The amount of content on community creations alone will keep you busy for hours.
I feel like I'm going to react the same way to the WM Showcase. Overall i enjoy the mode but I loved the Rey Mysterio focused one and the John Cena one last year was cool. The environments are lackluster bc they are still pandering to last gen! I feel like it's passed time for the yearly games to let go and push the current systems to the limit. I'm glad I'm hearing good things so far about this release tho. This might be the first before you buy that I haven't bought yet lol
the wrestlemania concept is a good idea as it allows more legends from previous years to be in the game and by changing things up from the normal story mode not concentrating on 1 wrestler this time round.
I was in the same boat as you... It sounds like this years game is building off of last year, which I thought was fun and I played through a lot of it. I am excited for this one this year. A lot of the wrestling youtubers have said good things as well.
it depends what you last played. if you have 2k23 then 24 is a waste of money for you. its like buying a iphone 15 after saving up for the iphone 14 the year before.
So weird that they would choose to use so much footage where they had to blur out key figures and information. Like, I know they've had to edit out all the appearances of the old WWF logo (because Vince screwed up in his dealings with the World Wildlife Fund, a story that never ceases to amuse me), but why use footage of Hulk Hogan being interviewed, but blur out Mean Gene's face? Paul Orndorff walking to the ring with Roddy Piper, blurred. Referees and announcers from the past, blurred. I fully understand that it's most likely due to the fact that they don't have the rights to use their images, but it just looks so messy to have so many instances of this blurring in the game. One of the screens I saw in this video was just a static shot of a crowd with the words "Wrestlemania" and "Madison Square Garden" on top-and the MAdison Square Garden part was blurred out! Looks so low rent, amazed they chose to use so much of that.
They made this all before the allegations came out. A similar thing happens with the roster every year where by the time the game comes out some of them aren’t in wwe anymore or some new ones didn’t show up in time to be in the game
Start playing since w2k22 and each year it gets better, and they listen to the players, My Universe is a really cool mode but it will need a little more improvement focus in the next years to be a great mode, probably combined with MyGM or sort of, but is a really fun game, and creations are the best
I'm waiting for a content creator to update us on Universal mode. Also the submission animations. If the DL and UL features got any better, so the created characters I download aren't losing their attributes. In rival matches are the scenes randomly generated or do I still have to pick what I want to happen via R, P, S style. Everyone is talking around those things.
@@knightmare716 the best to be honest, no mercy was a close second but WrestleMania 2000 just got most of my time. I was a huge WCW fan but unfortunately the WCW games weren't that good sadly.
The biggest improvements they did was they fixed Cody Rhodes theme with alternate attiers and secondly this first cm punk game sense wwe 2k15 but as dlc
I’ve basically played every wwe 2k game havin 100’s of hours in each game really looking forward to seeing how 2k24 shapes out to be one I get it I have a combined 2576 hours on the ps5 and 4 of the wwe 2k games over the years I really like the games it’s my go too
I still can't believe these games peaked in the decade of 2000-2010 how is that possible that it can be still making games, 14 years later that can't even come close to ps2 and 360 games. You have the easiest blueprint in the world to copy from.
Like every year, its a Gamefly rental for me. 2K22 and 23 weren't much different. Besides new match modes. It looks like this one is no different. And they update the current roster and sprinkle a few more legends in. These games will never be anything without the legends!
IM NOT BUYING ANYMORE UNTIL I CAN FREELY ROAM AROUND BACKSTAGE AREAS LIKE YOU KNIW WE COULD DO IN A 1999 WRESTLING GAME I CANT STAND WHEN FEATURES AND MODES ARE REMOVED
I want to know if they've fixed advanced entrance from last year, to be more like the previous years. I want to be able to time my pyro and lighting change to the music, plz.
@deandrenicholas2545 Imagine if you haven't played any in over a decade since the SVR days and then jumped into 2K20. It wouldn't have made a very good impression on the rest of them
this game is great. feel like anyone saying otherwise and some people in the comments saying older games are better truly are just stuck in the past or hasn't played those games in a long time. nostalgia is a hell of a drug
True man. I've grown up playing the old games too. But 2k24 is a pretty great game too. Most people are too stuck in nostalgia or just follow the herd like sheeps.
I need 2K to add a MyEra mode for this game like they have for NBA 2K. I want to play in the Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression Era without having to download every wrestler I can think of.
The only big bug I have to complain about is on showcase it was the Rock vs Steve Austin 2002 I believe and it worked for a while but I noticed right off the bat there were two refs and two after a while when I went for the pin the ref would hit the mat twice at a time and wouldn’t count I was being pinned and I kicked out at like 8
That Macho man, steamboat match, do you need the 40 years of wrestlemania package. I am mostly interested in the classic characters, which edition should i get. I haven't played any 2k wrestling game
Really? Because that is what they doing now THQ made good games and 2k struggle a lot to find what works and they finally cracked it really late with 2k22 and they keep innovating it add new match types adding new features this is what THQ did and that is what 2k to doing now
@@PlaystationConnectBS complete 2K didn't innovate by adding new match types those match types existed in older WWE games made by 'THQ Yukes' Until WWE 2K19. 2K own debut game WWE 2k20 made by 2K themselves was the most buggiest and glitchfest game ever. They copied and paste the ideas from older WWE games from Yuke's nothing more!
No comments on the MyGM mode? I feel like that's going to be the deciding factor on whether or not I buy this game or stick with Smackdown HCTP and Smackdown vs. Raw 2006.
After playing one season, it’s amazing! The new additions make it a lot more fun. The only thing I don’t like is that trades can only be made the week after a PPV.
these new wrestling games looks visually better but the animations seems abit wierd despite of the current technology, it still has that feel of there is a hidden wall everywhere where characters like to stragely float awkwardly or turn in a unnatural way like jumping on the top buckle characters homing is wierd unlike the old games
