I always use to think it was exaggerated until I went to a small tournament in Wales. Which is a small country in the UK. So we're talking super small time. Like it was a side attraction at a convention basically. I went with two mates and my girlfriend and we had every intention to enter solo and doubles but when we entered the largish room the smell was SO bad my girlfriend turned to me after a few minutes and said "I'm really sorry but I can't do this". I couldn't even blame her. TLDR; It really is true. On like a global scale I think.

On the first frame of your jump your hitbox is still touching the ground so if you do any inputs it will cancel your jump and do them on the ground. i.e. While running if you do any A attack, it will do dash attack, but if you jump, then on the first frame of jump hit the c stick up, you up smash. So you can run up and up smash people, when you would normally just dash attack

bthonk who do I main? Robin, then my next best characters are Falcon, Sans (lol, but this according to in game stats), Byleth, then Mewtwo. If Lucario had a more consistent play style that didn’t rely on him having so many gimmicks I would probably main him but at the moment I’m unsatisfied with how he plays

@@karmad.twelve6613 I’m the type of person that I’ll try to learn how to beat any Level 9 CPU as any random character, so I did put some time into learning Steve and he is pretty funny. I probably will not be maining him, but that doesn’t mean I won’t play him often, if that makes sense And I did play several matches as Lucario against my friends after the patch: it is noticable enough that several of his moves are better, and therefore it is easier to get consistent kills (for example, when I as Lucario only had 30%, aka Aura was not yet active, and then I got a kill on Pit with an uncharged F Smash at 50 (before the hit). I still wish Lucario had some moveset reworks (such as giving the second hit of Dair a Meteor effect, or potentially changing how his Up B controls so that it goes less weird and more directly in that direction, similar to a teleport; or even maybe making his Down B not work as a normal Counter but instead work almost like Meta Knight Down B, so you can just kinda warp around without getting hit or activate an attack whenever you want, regardless of what your opponent is doing). In spite of how I wish he had reworks to some of his moves though, he at least feels more viable and less reliant on Aura alone since the patch. I’m not sure if it’s enough to have me main him consistently, but the difference was noticable enough that I am satisfied with the buffs he just got.

Are people actually against pro controllers that much?

Jacob Wheeler problem is you can't unpair it. You have to pair it with a different switch to not accidentally pause other people's game in a tournament.

@@jacobwheeler8827 People who use pro controllers but don't know how to properly unpair them can legitimately throw off matches, sometimes to the point where a TO actually does have to get involved. You can disconnect a pro controller from a setup but the controller will still remember the last system it connected to internally and pressing any button will cause the controller to try to reconnect to that system even after the controller's been "turned off." So you get someone who plays a set and then disconnects their controller, but then the people who start their round on the same set afterwards get literally interrupted when the guy's controller in their bag or pocket grazes a button and starts doing accidental inputs like pausing and whatnot. The only way around it is to actually pair the controller to a different device between sets. People who are used to tournaments will usually be experienced enough to have a personal solution ready like pairing the controller to their phone via bluetooth or even bringing their own personal Switch to pair between rounds. Sometimes if a TO is conscious enough of it they'll have a particular Switch setup in a corner or something that isn't used for any matches but is specifically designated as a "pair your controllers to this station between rounds" thing. But even with all that sometimes newbies show up who don't have some personal equipment to pair it to or just don't know how to properly unpair it, or even experienced people just forget and make a mistake and a match gets interrupted which causes a TO to sometimes have to get involved.
