1) introduce yourself to people when you enter a room 2) try to remember people’s names 3) fix your posture 4) always stay busy 5) if someone disrespects your time, don’t be so readily available for them the next time 6) replace sorry with thank you 7) take accountability when you actually do something wrong 8) stay in your authenticity 9) avoid emotional reactions 10) start regarding yourself as a highly respectable person 11) look at peoples actions rather than the role they play in your life 12) stop taking disrespect so personally 13) surround yourself with people you respect

Yes, this is a good quote. But, alas, we live in a loud world. Very loud. In all ways!! Thus, one can keep silent or quiet as long as possible, but if a situation doesn't resolve itself after a long time, years sometimes, then one must put things and a fist on the table and also be loud and clear about what's going on. This does ask for a good deal of energy and righteous self confidence, but it's important to break miscommunication, corruption, etc. One can only do this the loud way. And either walk away afterwards, or if things change then continue in a more harmonious way. Not easy but efficient.

@@dlemmon1276 Who gives a shit about people in a group that believes everything the "leader" is telling them about other people? Do you think these people are smart? I dont think so. They need control of other people because they are actually weak without the influence. I rather be surrounded by people who actually have a real talent instead of only being able to influence other people who cant even question what someone is telling them. Real talent to me is something like singing, painting, teaching important knowledge, if you are only a "leader" that can influence people and manipulate them, that doesnt mean you have any sorts of talent and you arent respected by me nor are the influenced people. I had a big realization a while ago when someone asked for my name and he immediately called me by it, and did it several more times that day. I realized that he was saying my name a lot in an effort to remember it, and that it isn't a bad thing if I can tell he's doing it. He even said the wrong name once and I corrected him, but it's okay because he was trying and that is polite.

When you're a respectful person, you attract respect from others, it's that simple. However, when you encounter a clown that doesn't respect you, it's not your fault, it's their up brining and bad attutide. Those you avoid like the plaque, because they will never change.

I think taking accountability has been one of THE MOST liberating things I've learned on my 3 decade long spiritual journey (right up there with practicing radical Truth/Transparency). There's something about being able to be human and make mistakes and show that you can and will make the effort to correct them that is both humbling and empowering!
@sophiashekinah9872
@sophiashekinah9872 6 месяцев назад
Respectability is SO NOT about how other people view us! Respectability is about how we show up. Do we keep our word? Do we respect other people's time and efforts? No amount of affirming "people see me as respectable" is going to "make" anyone respect us if we show up 20 minutes late and make empty promises! If we're having lunch with our friend and we tell our boss that we're entertaining clients, can you expect your friend to believe ANYTHING you tell her after that? The only thing we Truly own in this world is ourselves; our behavior; our word... If you don't respect your word enough to speak Truth then how can you expect anyone else to respect you? If you don't respect your word enough to do what you say you'll do, then what does your word really mean? Respectability is about personal integrity.

Me too.😊 I’d rather be alone & have no friends in my life than several of the “pretend friends that are always there for me when they need something from me but when I need something from them for a change they never make time for me or seem willing & happy to reciprocate with any help for me unless they benefit somehow. Reminds me of the song by Janet Jackson: “What have you done for me lately ?” If the answer is always nothing from people in our lives it’s time to let them go & make space for people who know how a healthy relationship can work- Give & take -balanced not people always : •Taking us for granted • Taking advantage of our generosity •Taking everything they can get from us Never Taking time for us I’m finally done being a doormat that has “Welcome Users& Losers” written all over it. This is me standing up for myself & changing how I allow people to treat me. I haven’t watched this video yet but when it came up randomly in my feed I saw the title & that was perfect timing.

My immediate thoughts when I saw this video’s title. (which is great info btw for someone who needs to hear it). Once you’ve established your identity & self-worth & go into the world as a good person w/ no ill will towards others (be optimistic & understand that everyone is flawed as you are too)…more positivity just naturally comes back to you. Seeking respect from others is basically seeking validation from strangers-respect everyone but expecting something in return is going to leave you w/ some disappointments. Be forgiving of others. Entitlement is annoying AF & not everyone will be able to follow these tips successfully because of who we are innately. Some ppl continue to go into the world blind as a bat despite seeking positive changes. I personally know some ppl like this so this is based on my own experience.

Could you please give me some advice. I’m a new manager and I’ve had a lot of trouble with my team. I’ve been working in my position for a year now and have already had several incidents at work because people were disrespectful towards me, in particular two women that grew to dislike me and I feel that they are jealous of me and aiming for my job. I think the biggest issue is that I am the youngest one in our office and my looks don’t help either, as all issues I had were with those same two women. Another problem is that they all have more experience than me in this particular field of work even though I have advanced degrees that they don’t and experience in other similar areas. I don’t even know what I did wrong to begin with other than probably be too nice and approachable. Brother is a manager of a bank and he’s one of the most disrespectful people I have ever met . He is a complete narcissist and only respects himself and wants control. A lot of people don’t understand how to be in leader roles .

I found journaling helps me a lot more than I thought. School for me has been a huge struggle not just with work but with friends and teachers too. Being misunderstood and alone. Just writing my day and thoughts down no matter how bad or depressing they are it genuinely helps. Had a little cry after and I’m good now, still sad but atleast I’m not holding all my emotions in yknow

Nice tips, I feel like the “sorry” one is super important. How we talk to ourselves matters the most. Remember your conscious only knows and can reflect from one person YOU. So even when your bad language is aimed elsewhere it’s truly impacting only yourself. Use words wisely🙏🏼💫

My son-in-law totally disrespects me yet I truly love him. He actually says he’s going to take a “ Cindy” when he’s referring to a bowel movement. He never says hi to me when I enter his house and finds fault with everything I say or do. My daughter laughs it off but it’s extremely hurtful. I’m 74 yrs old and treated with no respect.

Why does he feel like it’s okay to speak to you this way? Take accountability for yourself as well. Does he speak to everyone this way? If so, speak up and set a boundary and tell him he’s being disrespectful. Him and your daughter are not a package deal. She can go over to your home (alone) to speak with you and if she’s bringing him tell her she can’t come.

I burned bridges with someone that disrespected me, if I just avoided and distanced myself from this person the result would be much better. Now that person knows that they have the power to hurt me and use it to their advantage. I'll remember your words for next time "accept the person for what they are, place them where they belong". Thank you so much! ❤

i hadn't thought about that last advice i think i have to let go of people that don't help me to improve myself and it's hard because sometimes we are so attached to someone that we think we'll never find someone better,but you're right,we have to surround ourselves with people we respect i love your videos ,thanks Natalie Greetings from Nicaragua 🇳🇮

Yep I really got out of the sorry thing. And I specifically will say “thank you” like *thanks for bringing that to my attention so I can make a more informed decision if the opportunity presents itself in the future* . Bc I heard somewhere we need to stop saying sorry for existing. I’m not sorry I’m here and I’m happy to learn how to be better going forward, gracefully and w/ dignity. And reducing your attachment/ level of engagement to ppl who clearly don’t fw you is very rewarding bc you dont feel taken advantage of bc you have given way more of yourself to someone who doesn’t care as much for you.

@miyriam3613

Fake it until you make it. Some people have learned from life how to have a good character and have not succumbed to circumstances or a difficult childhood, while others have succumbed to life and have not learned its lessons, so they must strive to reach the strong personality that suits them. That’s why you need to fake it until you make it and it’s not about being fake or lie! How do you think actors perform their roles professionally? They don't just act; they embody the role, feeling and behaving based on the character, emotions, movements, and actions that we see especially in the series, since they are all realistic, and the actors truly cry in sad scenes.

I loved your approach and your way of talking about these uncomfortable situations Proud to see someone so young, so clearly explaining /teaching other people how to deal with disrespectful people that sadly happened to be the majority cause there’s a lot to do with envy (about what????) or jealousy when actually they want you to feel as miserable as they feel about themselves - bravo, girl 👏♥️😍🤩🤗😁
