We're back at Dandy Engines for the next installment of our Ford 7.3 Godzilla testing. In this episode we we take the combination up a notch, building the bottom end for boost, as well as test our prototype 115mm throttle body and 12PK drive system!

Honestly as a coyote guy I'm disappointed by 1300 from a 7.3 I was hoping they'd be something closer to 2k with that much displacement it's not weird to see 1300-1500hp 5.0 stangs

@@GhostlyGhillethey also have DOHC with all kinds of tuning abilities due to multiple different factors. This is a pushrod engine and very different when looking at HP per cube. You will never see a 7.3L DOHC engine be produced by any American car maker.

Awesome stuff Heath. I just stepped up to the new 110mm throttle body on the 2650 on our 7 litre build. Can't wait to see one of these combos in a Mustang or late model Falcon on the strip.

@@thomasstott527 Man, 1300 with a *blower*... that's more than any LS I can think of. I think going forward the 7.3 is going to be the swap of choice if you have the extra money. Then again, you could just go with an LSX at that point, but still.

@@SoI_Badguy well if you only mess with ford motors that's understandable... we built a hellcat... stock blower ( ported) stock bottom end... 1150 hp to the tire... these guys are making 1300 to the fly wheel with a 7.3... we have made North of 1300 with a 6.2 and a "blower"

@@SoI_Badguy Ultimately Bryan Neelen and his crew from LME were the winners of LS vs Coyote 2. They were able to put together a 427 cubic-inch LSX engine that produced a staggering 1,784 horsepower and 1,422 lb-ft of torque with the help of a ProCharger F-1X supercharger with a 10-rib serpentine belt.Jun 27, 2019..... 🤔 I believe a 427 is smaller then the 7.3... 🤣

Weight and fuel consumption... but, fuel consumption for this application is a non issue. Weight? I don't see many ways to get power and torque like that without high displacement.

Maybe you better find some old copies of Mustang and Fast Fords magazines from the early 90s where guys were using a Boss302 block as a foundation to build that Windsor engine to 1200 HP with a power adder. By comparison, this 7.3 is weak sauce

reading this im curious, are you talking about current gen 5.0 L when you call it a Windsor? Guessing youre not from North America as I have never heard it called that before. I live in Windsor, Ontario Canada where those engines are made, my uncle is an engineer there actually.

@@WeekendWarriors87 In Australia, a 302(5.0) version of the Cleveland was available('71 to '82), as well as the 351(5.8)C that was also in North America, so the need to distinguish it from the Windsor variety of small block in the same displacements.

Borowski Racing Engines . 427 cu inch. Smaller cu inch than yours . 4.5 liter Whipple with intercooler 1290 hp on USA 93 which is 98 octane here . 1138 TQ all @ peak boost of 19 lbs

Displacement and flow. This is the first big block made from the bottom up in like half a century, the potential of this engine is insane. Coming from a huge chevy guy.

@@SoI_Badguy. Absolutely, there is so much potential with a big block💪🏻. Anytime you have heads flowing 300CFM’s and 10:5:1 compression factory you have a lot of potential. 600hp N/a will be easy with a 230’s/XXX cam. And you will have tons of bottom end torque with the displacement.

Too bad these upgrades are so expensive. That motor was made for a truck to pull heavy weights. The torque looks impressive after your upgrades. If someone was willing to spend the $$$, how good would this engine be to use in actual towing situations?

No not no more, if your options was to upgrade a coyote 5.0 or a 7.3 Godzilla it would be cheaper getting the Godzilla. 7.3 you get longevity depending on boost levels and reliability vs a 5.0. My 5.0 blew a rod out the bottom through the oil pan and the 7.3 is going to be the new engine that is going to be placed in the car, since a upgraded coyote is going to set you back 20Gs minimum. Yes you can get cheaper but my build needs to handle 1,000hp daily and that becomes pricey on the 5.0 coyote.

I noticed that too, however that nozzle is an oil squirter. The rod head should never come in contact with that section of the cylinder. Sometimes if you do not remove the squirters while assembling/ removing the rods, it could damage the cylinders as seen there.

@@Matp345 a guy a follow has an RCSB 5.0 with an 18 mustang manifold, E85 tune, and a PMAS intake. Truck went 12.4 and 12.2 I believe. That’s impressive as hell for an NA truck if you ask me since I think they run mid 13’s stock.

Probably won't matter for you purposes, but on that long down section of the belt, you are getting a lot of vibration. Might want another idler pulley to stop that if you plan on long runs.

Hook up the PCV system and see where the "power" and "boost" go and how long Godzilla "lives" with at least half as much crankcase pressure as it has manifold pressure. "Blowby" is an "emission" and releasing it to the atmosphere even with a "catch can" will get you a big fine in "America" and you can kiss ever "exporting" any of your "products" or "technology" goodbye.
