The thing about this place is that only a fraction of its value comes from practicality. Most of the objects here are only valued highly because it’s either old, traditional, or rare in some fashion. Barely any of this is interesting to use and see outside of its spiritual nature. This apartment is more akin to a museum than an actual place to live. It definitely looks amazing, but the price, in my opinion, doesn’t fit. Note: The kitchen is the only area in this house where I would like to be.

As a retired furniture maker, this is my take on the furnishings. None of the seating is comfortable for more than a few minutes, the dining room looks like a corporate board room, and after you have smashed your shin on the platform bed frame for the third or fourth time, you will hate it. Also, the kitchen faucets are identical to Ikea Ringskar faucets. Too generic for a high design place like this.

I can tell the slanted chair would be so uncomfortable in a person that like to lean my shoulders on chair and a slanting chair would just ruin my back and the chair look so closed in that my legs would have to be glued together along with the dining table I just hat long dining table I much prefer circle tables I'm just imagining the movies with long tables long tables have such a disadvantage however I do see a advantage with the cabinets the one with the holes in them and I'm a person that likes to swim so that an upside but minor don't like the couch unless it unfold into a futon

Judging by the looks of the apartment, it's worth no more than $10M. I'll even add another $5M because it's on Park Avenue. If you pay more than $100M for an apartment than you have F-U money. This apartment is probably meant to attract American and foreign oligarchs, you know, wealthy undesirables.

@Elon Musk We all know it's about price gouging. It's all about the hype. It's all about marketing. Look if you got the money, more power to you to buy something that'll make you feel like a big shot. Some people are smart enough and discipline enough NOT to fall for that trap. It's like a Ray Ban that probably cost less than $10 to make in a Chinese sweatshop, they sell it for $200 or more in an American market.

Most of the “Wealthy neighborhoods” Are actually just ghost towns that are rented out. The wealthy citizens in the U.S. and many other countries as well, Usually live a normal life like a middle class citizens and most actual middle class and lower class citizens don’t know this and it’s sad. All advertisements to keep the wealth for wealthy people and too make the middle class stay middle class and the poor too stay poor, They label the wealthy as “You need this and you need that this that and the third blah blah, Most of the expensive things on sale currently aren’t actually expensive and aren’t worth what they’re “claim to be” because 95% of the price goes more towards the ads and the logo rather than the product itself because those companies that sell all these “marvelous magnificent outrageous unnecessarily expensive things” Will simply never be consumers of their product.

The problem with this listing is that it's too niche. You have to be way into the Japanese culture to be able to appreciate all of this and actually live in it. Who does Japanese tea ceremony? Nobody knows that even if you are that filthy rich. The dining area looks too corporate. The kitchen is beautiful although I don't understand why aside from the French oven, it also has two more wall ovens. Why? Are they opening up a Cafe up there? The whole concept is so clean I don't think it would work with a huge family with lots of kids. They will ruin everything including those white sofa and that specialty Japanese plaster wall. It's good that the artist put in wood. It gives the place character. With a very steep price and a very specific interior it looks like it's been listed in the market for sometime and no takers still, that's why they commissioned the media (Insider) to help them so they can dispose it.

So much of this isn't practical, or superfluous - for example, rich folks wear more stuff that's not machine washable but dry-clean only, and the answer is to give them MORE washers and dryers??? Those white sofas are screaming for kids to draw on, and forget about being relaxed while having a glass of wine there, lol. And are there any detachable showerheads in the bath at all so you can wash your hair over a tub or sink? The lounging couch in the bedroom is pretty but lacks a decent backrest, you can't actually lean back to relax there. I do like the wood floors though.

This is ghastly. All these artefacts and natural wonders should have been left where they were found, or put in a museum for everyone to experience. Instead they were plundered for the private enjoyment of someone with more money than they could spend in a hundred lifetimes. Someone who has spent their whole life surrounded by luxury and has probably become totally desensitised to the beauty and wonder of all these things. Meanwhile, in the city below 80,000 people sleep on the streets. Truly horrendous. It's a crime against humanity that something like this can even exist.

What a load of pretentious nonsense. For people who have more money than inner peace. The apartment is in a lovely spot but is it really necessary to have a 1000 year old cedarwood 'bridge'? It's as disgusting to me as wearing an endangered species coat. If I was rich and bought that place, there would be carpets, deep sofas, darker colours, a fireplace, a fourposter medieval bed and lots of cosy blankets. Somewhere I could retreat the European way, and forget all about the outside.
