Just remembered his name....James Hilston! It is a shame, as he had a lot of talent for sprinting. I wish there were some sprint comps in the UK over 250/300/1min.
I keep reminding him to stay retired. He needs to hit 14 w/kg to match me now and he was languishing around 12. The welsh champs just had a 100m but they had no weight categories. I think I was the only lightweight brave enough to take on those with extra fat cells. A bit like asking Pacquiao to take on Klitschko. It would be good to have 100m at the world champs.......
nick molloy What was you're time for the 100, and the winning time? Strange they had no weight cats, the other issue for me IF there was a sprint champs of some type, is the PED usage. Think I will stick with powerlifting and all round weightlifting at the moment!
I did 15.0 but when you take the reaction time out it was 14.5/14.6. That's faster than any lightweight so far. Despite this I could only come 4th against heavyweights (I think about 30 entered). PED usage is rife in every sport. What makes you think endurance rowers aren't using ? They will be equally bad and already amongst us.....
For me over 100m it needs to be 210+ (max). As I'm light I start to tire over 1 min so I drop it to around 190-200. The heavier you are, in theory you could get away with a heavier drag factor. However, if you are less explosive you may find the heavy drag catches up with your lack of speed and slows your overall time. You may need a bit of trial and error
