(14) Beautiful sounding German Gustav Becker "Trio Gong" box clock with a 4-rod bim bam strike!

Item facts:
-Manufactured in Germany by Gustav Becker in Schlesien (used to be German, now it's in Poland) in the 1920's
- very clean and fully working condition
-harmonic bim bam striking on 4 rods
-2 rods have the same note but have a very slight pitch-difference for a more vibrating and full sound which Gustav Becker called the "Trio Gong"
- Very unusual striking pitch for a Gustav Becker clock

Thank you!! It is indeed in a very good condition, still. I personally love the sound too, one of my favourites. Uses a very unique trick to make it sound even more voluminous!

Has same thing except I switched all 4 hammer to new one and saved the old ones as spare hammers. Mine doesn’t have GB logo on dial and it did have woodworms many years ago since holes were dark.

love the deep and harmonic gonging sound! I like the hammers as well, did you have to replace the felt at any point? it seems like the situation would be similar to that of a piano, would the felt have to be replaced every so often?

Thanks!! All of the felt is still original to my surprise, the 3 lower notes hit softer though since the spring to hold them in place is very weak. I really like the way it sounds though, gives it a more "edwardian home" vibe!

One suggestion, for a more professional video i recommend you film with your phone on it's side for a landscape video aspect ratio, the portrait ratio is a bit narrow and constricted making it hard to see everything in the clock as well.
