Dude, i thought about this too. Or putting an .sm57 mic on it to get tge resonance. I wish there was more of a musical application to chime rods.

Funny thing is that Japanese school bells work like that. They use a motor to turn a chime barrel that makes hammers hit chime rods, but each rod has coil under it like an electric guitar which turns the sound into an electrical signal which is sent to an amp and over the PA system

Thank you! In my opinion it sounds very nice in pitch. Still needs minor adjustments to 2 of the hammers but it does the job at the moment. Trinity chime is unfortunatly too expensive if they ever happen to apear here, mine was a real bargain for 45€ (about $56). I'm glad you like it though.

Thank you again!! They made their clocks with a big eye on the sound. It has indeed a very nice tuning. I'm mostly into clocks and music boxes because of their sound. Anything with an electric speaker is absolutely not my interest. I love listening to their sound.

@@V.G.F. Some mechanical winding clocks play melodies for each hour on built in music-box and count the hours on coiled wire gong only at the hour. Some mechanical winding clocks mark every quarter hour by 1/4, 2/4, 3/4 and 4/4 of the sequence of chime melodies like Westminster, Whittington's, St. Michael's or Schubert's Ave Maria in addition with striking the hours as chord strokes on tuned set of chiming rods. Such clocks are costly and rich people can buy them. Some poor people too wants to enjoy the quarter chime sequence with hour strike and some poor people wants to enjoy 12 different melodies of music-box followed by hour strike on coiled wire gong at every hour. Battery operated clocks that contains electronically recorded and programmed circuit board of sound chips connected to speaker that imitates such sounds are manufactured for the sake of such people.

This one is not for sale but if you're looking for others it depends on where you are located. Here they're arround $300 (converted) but in some places these are $500 or more. Just look up some websites or go to antique/clock stores and you'll see!!

Well, that's how I started too. Just save up some money and get an old mechanical clock and you'll get to experience of the magic they spread :)
