Hey Brittany, instead of the placemat definitely look at walmart for contact paper in the kitchen section. You can recover the whole top of your vanity & it's so easy to wipe down & keep clean after! It'll make it look like new & they have cute patterns. I also started to put them inside all my drawers around the home.
@@sassyfras4085 Not sure but cocunut oil lasts a long time. I've had one about 5 months once and it was fine. If you use a real small container then it will be gone before you can worry about it.
For the small tins: I keep some of my round cotton pads with micellar water in it. much like a baby wipe for your face. Thx for the great ideas! Carter it's sooo adorable! 💋
Awesome idea!! I've stripped up/cut up fabrics in empty bottles with home made cleaning mixtures but the idea of cotton balls soaking in micellar water in those tins is ingenious !
Instead of the napkin holder, you could also use a mail organizer that has 3 different heights, found in the poster board section of the dollar tree for palettes! Also, I think Wal-Mart sells glass dishware that is usually cheaper than the dollar tree, or I go to garage sales and DIY a 3 tier organizer for about .50!
For those little storage containers at the end, you can take a piece of foam packaging ( like the kind that comes in boxycharm) and cut it in a circle to fit the container. It can be used to quickly wipe your brush off when doing makeup
aluminum storage containers can be used for powdered spice storage by gluing some magnets on back ok it,or can be used for some craft supplies like pins and stuffs like that, by the way Moving to my first ever studio apartment,😍 and Time for me to do some vassorganisation😂🙌
I used those containers when I made a gift set/ spa basket for my co-workers last Christmas. I put my DIY body butter in one and bath salts in the other. I labeled them with a chalk board sticker label on the top then twisted juke twine around it (like you would a box so have ribbon on all 4 sides) then just tied a regular bow at the top. It looked so cute, and it reinsured that it wouldn't spill in the basket. The body butter is pretty thick so it was fine, but I used a different jar for the body scrub I made. They all loved it! I also have one in my glove box that has the toothpick/floss things in it, and another one holds my bobby pins.
To protect vanities I think it's so much better a clear acrylic cover made to fit the exact size of the vanity. It doesn't dance around as much as those small plastic covers and it's super easy to clean. I have it on my vanity and any furniture that may need protection, like my shoe drawers which have several potted plants on top of it.
I just did a Dollar Tree run for this exact purpose. I use the Card holder to hold my three go-to foundations (matching, highlight, and shadow). Also, they have silver gray tins like you showed at the end with plastic windows and magnets on the back in the stationery section. You can see whatever you put in there, and bang it up on any petal object like a mirror frame or tray if you like. I love how you went through the store with a creative eye and found a lot of great problem solvers!
You can get circular magnets at the dollar store. Attach the magnets to the back of the little circular tins and use as storage for product, cotton balls, whatever, and you can attach to a mirror or magnets you put on the side of your vanity.
It's so crazy I was literally already using those decorative display bowls for those exact uses! Sooo good for sponges! And I need to hit up the Dollar tree to get a napkin holder now lol
great tips!! Those little tins are cute, so I'd say paper clips, push pins, etc. Any small things! Carter is so adorable!!! So glad I got to see him and that melt your heart smile!!
Hello Britanny! New subscriber here and a first time mom. After watching A day of life with a newborn video, I immediately fell inlove with you, your videos and your family! You really inspired me to become a better mom. Can't survive a day without watching your videos. So obsessed already! Thank you for everything! You really helped me overcome my postpartum blues. I hope you could upload your weekly vlogs I really love watching them. Love you so much! 💕
Holy crap I never thought about flipping the metal baskets upside down! I bought them hoping they'd hold my make up but everything kept sliding out. Now I can finally put them to use. Thank you! Loved this video!!!
These ideas were so clever! But, I have to say, my favorite part was Carter!!! He steals the show with those precious cherub cheeks and huge smile❣❣❣ Love and Blessings❣
I use the small (and large) containers you spoke of for all my kitchen spices. Mine were magnetic so I spray painted a dollar store cookie sheet and now my spices are easy to get to and look great. Hope you like the idea.
That was a very nice idea to do the upside down basket as a lipstick holder, and I would even take it a step further and spray paint it the color I want
You could use those tiny tin containers for storing your wedding ring, or just rings or earrings, or cotton balls and q tips, or you could use them to store tylenol in your purse
I have been using the white sturdy containers for makeup organization for long time. Theyre awesome. To keep mine from sliding around in my drawers I use the double sided tape at Dollar Tree to keep them still. You can use that to keep your placemat still too. Thanks for your videos, I love them. Carter is gorgeous. Like his parents. Beautiful family.
The basket idea for the lip glosses/liquid lipsticks is amazing. And you could probably fit most make-up brushes in the holes too. Love your channel

For the small Tin you can store home made deodorant or you can make your own lavender candles or to store the extra buttons and thread from new clothes
You could pour different skin care products in the little containers when you travel so you don't have to bring big bottles. Or if you have limited space in a bag you could put sun screen if your gonna be outside
Bobby pens and tiny clips and rubber bands for the small aluminum containers. Also try putting Velcro patches on the bottom or magnetic strips and sticking them on the wall for more convenience and space saving
Nice & creative ideas.The small tin containers can be used to hold candle wax,or store candles,hair beads,hair jewelry,tiny rubber bands,cotton balls,petroleum,lotion,tiny batteries,pencil erasers,ear buds,etc. They could be decorated.Thanks.
I would probably use the little metal containers for stuff like nails, screws, earrings, rings, make them into candles, pill container for your purse. Tons of uses for those.
Boxes can be used to store diy organic lip balms, lip sticks, etc. Also can be used to store Vaseline or such for keeping in purse or another place where you might need it.
You could use the little circular tins for homemade face treatments such as eye gel, facial lotion, or masks. And also homemade sugar lip scrubs and lip balms!
The little containers at the end, you could out falsies, Bobby pins or hairties in them. Or you can out spices in them and Velcro them to a kitchen cabinet.
You could use the small containers for diy makeup products! Lip gloss in a popular one, and blush, but you could do like "travel" sizes of anything! Pressed powder, eyeshadow, nail & lip salves, etc. Great for makeup on the go!💄🚘
Love ALL your DIY storage ideas! Thanks for using The Dollar Tree for those of us on a budget. Dollar Tree projects are my favorite! I see cute things and you have shown us how to use them. Ingenious!!! Keep ‘me coming!! I love them because I have NO space. Thanks again!!! 🌺
I use their oval plastic tray from the Dollar Tree to display my perfumes & it is high quality plastic. Regarding the paint chipping from your vanity, you can just buy nail polish to camoflauge it. I use nail polish all the time for quick fixes & it works awesome!
You can use these little storage containers for loose tea, if you are a tea lover, Or any spices, or even for your rings. As for me any loose tea is great when I can fit it from the big box to a small container
I use the little round magnetic containers for spices and I put magnet strips in my cupboards it really helps keep them off the counter and still not take up too much covered space and keeps everything organized I also use them in my office 4 paper clips thumbtacks rubber bands stuff like that
Aluminum containers can be for earrings and/ or drill holes in them and you can use it as a little brush holder. (Of course you’ll need to put it in a vase but it makes it easier to find what brush you want)
Loving you more and more!!! I'm a Diva on a budget and I Love the dollar store.. you just made my next trip so exciting!!! Project!!! I Love your DIY's! As a Pro Makeup Artist I value these organizational BEAUTY tips!! 😘😘😘
Those little metal storage containers you could use as a dry brush cleaner. Pop in a bun form that you can get at the dollar tree hair care section and there you have it. It isn't an organizational thing but still works in the makeup realm. :)
if your vanity gets beat up on top, you can always cover it with vinyl wall paper - it won't move around like the mat, and it can also be wiped down with baby wipes!
Those cute little tins you can use them for putting some small rings or earrings. Also to put seasoning in to store them better and you can even add a label as well. I would personally used them to put my small jewelry! Love this video!!!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Another idea for the organizer basket - use it to store pens, pencils, and markers! I've been trying to find a way to organize my art supplies without buying an organizer using the same concept, but this will save me some money! Thanks so much for the idea!
Thank you! These are so helpful for my dressing table, I will definitely be using some of these ideas. Oh my I didn't realise how big Carters teeth are, he has a beautiful smile. It always brightens my day when my daughter smiles at me, hope your all okay ❤
I bought a magnetic board and magnetic tape. Stuck the tape on my beauty products and put them on the board. I know it's not related to this video, but it's a great way to store all of your products. Also it works with those little tins. I put the tape on those as well to hang stuff on your refrigerator. Great video btw!!
Hi Love the organization tips I agree the little tubs would make great magnetized spice containers or would fit a panty liner and tampons for your purse for those just in case days!
I have the makeup I use the most in one of those pretty decorative boxes that have magnetic lids from the craft store. Put everything inside and your counter looks pretty. Now I need to go to the dollar tree to buy things to organize the inside. Organizing is one of my favorite things to do! Of course always putting things back in their place later doesn't seem to be haha
For the round aluminum tins you can make your own makeup removal pads for like on the go, or you could use them if your lipstick breaks and you want to turn it into lip gloss. You could also use it if you want to take some foundation with you on the go but you don't want to take the whole glass container and risk it breaking.
