i wish this was more aware. so many millennials had parents that were workaholics and we ended up with emotional and attachment issues lmao, but i really wish people were there to say this type of stuff to them. i just remember waking up and seeing my mum leave for work before school started and then not seeing her until the next morning as she's leaving again. just wished more parents took time off from work here and there and just relaxed at home for a while. it's stressful as a child watching how stressed out your parents are. i wish living was easier.

Dark humor is very common coping mechanism and certainly not something to feel ashamed of. As a victim of SA by myself, it’s part of how I, and many others, gather the inner strength and courage to face the days of recovery ahead. Humor also lets us talk about societal struggles people face, especially the uncomfortable topics like SA/suicide/inequality/etc. When communication, not silence, is what’s needed most.

The beauty of this is assuming that suicide or humor aren't the sanest options to reality. Universal public health should start with: if you can laugh, if you can't kill yourself. Because there isn't anything unfunny about a world ruled by people with daddy issues and murdered by those with mommy ones and where videos of sleeping horses farting exist.

I have a debilitating chronic medical condition, and one thing I found is because you can't see any outward signs of it most people think it's in your head or fake. It can cause serious issues on and off, but very few acknowledge my problem even when I explain it to them. It's caused me endless distress and anger throughout my life. I can't get ahead on jobs or careers because of it, and I usually get pegged as being lazy or giving up. It's really made me hate the world many times in life. Now I have the opportunity to avoid people, and am going to use this time to not hear the negative people constantly putting me down and ignoring my problem. Personally I think this condition has caused the majority of my mental health struggles.

Watched this 11 months ago, liked and thumbs up for as many comments as I could. 5 months ago I shit hit my fan, I'm lucky to be alive. It's still awesome that we can have real people taking about real issues with a tweak of humor. Laugh or die, just my moto, when I can laugh again I know I'm going to survive. Good luck every one, life is hard, we're going to die one way or another. Qualifying, I'm 53, been though alot, laughter is good, it means you're getting though and going to be OK. Till the next time, sa la vi

I love the way these comedians joke about mental health issues. I think it makes it easier for people to talk about those issues. I love what that one guy said. I agree. I think social media does contribute to depression because you're always seeing everybody's glitz and glamor their best self, you never see the real shit that's behind it that we all have.

I agree with these comedians and their words are comforting. I hate it when people who don't understand depression call it "Self pity" or tell you to start listening to Britney Spears cos Marilyn Manson is too dark.

I accidentally caught my hair on fire at a friend's wedding! I was leaning over a table to sign the guestbook and my long hair swiped one of the votive candles on the table. You are soooo right - the smell of my burnt hair throughout the wedding venue was horrid and embarrassing! 🙈

My alcoholic mother made me late to the wedding of my half sister at 12 yrs old where I was to light some union candle. I missed the rehearsal and naturally lit the death candle instead. Wax and wick are wax and wick its only the name we give them that makes the difference. But tell a 12 yr old girl in catholic school that. I would have rather been getting fondled by the priest outback while smoking a cigarette and putting it out on my flesh.

When people say “life is hard” or “the world is hard” what they’re actually talking about is other people. We are not on our side. Almost every hardship and difficulty in moderne life actually comes from other people. If we were all on our side, life would be a hell of a lot easier.

Thank goodness I saw this video. I needed to hear how I've been feeling is normal. That it's ok to lay down once in a while. I honestly saw these wonderful comedians' eyes and it felt wonderful ❤️ 💖. It's after 8pm and usually I feel I'm SUPPOSED to be active and DOING something until 10pm, but I just wanted to lay down 😁

Oh man, so refreshing. I really appreciate you all being so out and open about mental health struggles. I was glad that the audience seemed to relate. My mind convinces me that I'm alone, or that no one else is suffering at these rock bottom levels. I'm on meds, and they've been helpful, but what a cost. My drive and ambition have really diminished, along with my cognition in general. However, I was grateful for the laughs! Thank you, I needed this today.

Honestly it's exhausting sometimes how serious people get when talking about suicide. Like, we who've attempted or considered it know it's heavy stuff but it's tiring to always be sincere and serious so joking about it or just being light-hearted is really liberating
