14 SECRETS You Missed in Mario & Luigi: Brothership! 

I hope they bring back the intro with Mario and Luigi going "NIIIIIIINTENDOOOOO!!"

The name Brothership is clever since we’re exploring islands

Maybe the Brothership acts sort of like Galaxy's Starship Mario? As in, an explorable hub that grows as the adventure continues and where you choose which world to go.

One thing I also noticed is that Kevin Afghani is voicing Mario and Luigi in this. I was fully expecting them to reuse lines from the 3DS games.

I really hope that the bros attacks are upgradable like Super Star Saga. You can see Luigi get an idea in a similar way, maybe that means after using an attack a few times perfectly, you can do a stronger and more difficult version of the move.

I am so glad to see they've dropped the rule where no new character designs are allowed in the Mario-verse. That's just a stopper on creativity.

The animation looks fantastic, you can see smear frames when Mario is spinning with his hammer and also kicking that red koopa shell is basically a Mario Strikers reference, this game seems to have a lot of heart put into it.

I just realized that the Luigi clip of him thinking of something is probably him thinking of a new bros ability to move around the map with! I love Mario and Luigi games :)

They confirmed that they were indeed bros. attacks.

My guess for the team hammer and jump attacks is this: When the brothers are together, the basic attacks become advanced, the ones we see used. When the bros are separated or one is down however, the attack is either the regular jump with double stomp from the previous ones and single strike for hammer, or just a single strike for both attacks.

The Save Block from Dream Team was also brought into the game as well when Mario and Luigi jumps into the cannon 5:07

The Extension Corps reminds me a lot of the Best Fitness Friends from Bowser Jr's Journey.

I wanna point out the game description on the Nintendo website implies that Bowser and Peach maybe helping us instead, not only possibly returning bowser gameplay, and giving us a playable peach, but also brings back the 4 party squad from PiT!

The crazy thing is that the first videos i saw on GameExplain was a breakdown for Mario & Luigi: DreamTeam. And have been a fan of the channel since. That was 11 years ago now. And I was only years old, bearly could english and had just gotten my first computer allowing me to watch youtube daily. And one of my first memories are from you guys. And it definitely shaped the kind of content i would consume the next five years of my life and also the hobbies I have now as a 23 year old.

I am STOKED for this game. Mario and Luigi dream team was one of my favorite 3ds games ever.

A few extra tidbits I noticed after like my 10th+ rewatch of this trailer, lol: In my native language, the term we use for "electrical sockets" is "connectors" (since they connect the plug of a device to a power supply). Connie's name might be a reference to this, while also sounding like a real name. I'm pretty sure many more characters are going to have similarly pun related names (like Snoutlet being Snout + (Power) Outlet.) And since we're on the topic of "electrical socket" = "connector", the magical hand thing might be because Mario and Luigi are "connected" through their brotherly love, and that somehow causes them to partake in this whole adventure all revolving around "connectors", lol. The jump and hammer attacks we see in the trailer might be a form of enhanced versions of the "solo" attacks, maybe something like... "connection attacks"? Maybe you use 1 socket per enhanced attack, instead of BP, which might be reserved for "regular Bros. attacks". And I've JUST noticed this while watching this video, but the purple Extension Corps. guy in the middle is wearing his cable head like it's one of those long hairdos that delinquents/school bullies usually have in anime. :D

Just noticed the pun on snoutlets name. Literally, his snout looks like an outlet and would fit the whole electronic bits their going for...

I am Very Pumped for this game! It’s been 9 years since the last Mario & Luigi Game and I am looking forward to this one. My only flaw with this though is that both Mario & Luigi’s voices sound a bit iffy to me in my opinion But nevertheless I am just glad to see this Series make its comeback. Mario & Luigi Is Back and it is better than ever!!!

The "Brothership" is enough to make me want to play the game.

It makes sense that Starlow isn’t here. There is probably a bit of legal trouble surrounding Starlow, as she was created by AlphaDream. It’s just like how King K Rool hasn’t shown up in any new Donkey Kong games.

I think the most important part to me is it’s a new Mario game (especially RPG) that has new original characters and races! We’ve been stuck with generic toad, goomba, koopas, bobombs for like a decade Gives hope for a future paper Mario

I would love to see the brothers being split up like in SS, I know Jokes End might not be everyone’s favorite area of the game but I love how well it uses both bros despite being on 2 separate paths, especially the colored block section

This game looks amazing 🤩 The animations and expressions on Mario and Luigi are fantastic! They perfectly managed to translate the art style into 3D so well! A great evolution of the handheld games. Cannot wait to play this game and super looking forward to actually playing as Zelda in a Zelda game 😂

Hopefully I’m not the only one who noticed this, but I noticed that in this game, when Mario is moving in the overworld, Luigi follows Mario further away. Like, in the other games, Mario and Luigi stay pretty close to each other, but in this game, they stay further apart.

The UK website on Nintendo revealed more information we are in a world called Shipshape. Peach and Bowser will also join the bros

Part of me really hopes they treat the mechanic of the bros splitting up like Gooigi in LM3, where Luigi can be controlled by a second controller. Pulling off bros attacks with two players would feel so much more rewarding!!!

Something that was missed, the area at 3:44 appears to be Mount Pajamaja from Dream Team, based on the color of the ground, the fire/ice theming, and the specific design of the railings.

Regarding the Ship it's quite plausible as the Italian localization or the game is " Mario&Luigi: Fraternauti ". Whereas Frater = Brother, Nauti = Nauts, so some sort of vehicle is involved in this case a ship considering the game is taking place in several islands.

What a great surprise! It's nice to see this series back! I wonder how they will handle it in the future. The style of the game looks the same as before, but a bit different at the same time. But I like what I am seeing so far. The Mario and Luigi series comes to life again!

I hope that by Luigi separating from each other it leads to co op multiplayer, with one person doing luigi's part of the attacks, and the other doing marios, as well as splitting up (to an extent) on the world map.

I really hope "brothership" isn't just a clever pun, if there's a galaxy style lobby for the islands that would be AWESOME

When watching the trailer, one of the things that seemed most curious to me was the new animation that Mario and Luigi have when doing the spin jump. It looks quite beautiful.

That spinning hover jump is reminiscent of the Spin Bros. Attack, a secret move in Superstar Saga.

The trailer talks about evolved bros attack when showing the koopa shell attack and it had a more dynamic attack animation so the moves we see earlyer might be normal bros attacks

The outlets at the bottom of the battle screen are probably for a badge-type ability seeing how they're layed out, but looking at the blocks in battle, we can make some guesses based on prior entries Blue = hammer, orange = items, red = jump, purple looks to be flee, yellow has the outline of a shell, most likely bros moves, but red is obscured.

I feel like they basically did like Super Mario Galaxy 2 with the ship being the HUB area, and the cannon launching you at your destination

I love how they translated the style to 3D. Will obviously take some getting used to but the fact that even their moustaches are animated to show their expressions is just one example of the extent they’ve gone to in keeping this series cartoony and expressive. Eagerly waiting to see more of this game, including who the developers are

Maybe that there will be bros attacks like in superstar saga, but we’ll also have the red shell and similar attacks as objects like in partners in time ! That explains why we have both !

I don’t think that the bros attacks are based on which actions you have in the over world but item attacks like in bis. The attacks we see here I believe are stronger variants of the normal bros attacks where both bros would contribute BP to the attack. The first attack is an advanced jump, second one advanced hammer, and third could be an advanced red shell. Just a theory though of course but it would make the most sense given the theme
