I feel like this stuff shouldn’t really matter on a controversy level. I would like a world where we can just see something like this in the game and appreciate it for the storytelling and character development rather than some insane war online against a small group of insanely loud trans people and an even smaller group of insanely loud transphobic people.
I dunno what's so "right" about missing out on some of the best games made every generation simply because you can't run it. After playing Nintendo-only up until the end of WiiU I had to build a PC and move on. Now I emulate all their games and get to play everything else. Another overlooked factor here are the devs. This video has major flaws as it seems to insinuate console manufacturers are simply choosing to be "drunk on power". It's developers that want to push the boundry of THEIR craft, and they have meetings with the big 3 over what sort of hardware they would need to realize their ambitions. Console makers don't pull these specs out their asses just to be edgey. You likely know this too but once again you're out here making sure the Nintendo crowd doesn't get educated on basics. Both devs and the other 2 console makers keep driving the industry forward. It's actually due to at least SOMEBODY doing it that Nintendo has the convenience of falling back. And it's not like they don't have the exact same red line either. Taking years to catch back up to the same boundry line ANYWAY that everyone else keeps expanding for you is smart, and sly, but not really anything to be impressed by. They're just slowing their walk to the same destination. Thankfully they keep not hitting the wall because everyone else keeps pushing the wall further back. It's been years since I left the Nintendo-only club but why am I not shocked to return and see that my brethren are all still suckers.
"There is no instance of a nation benefitting from prolonged warfare" - Sun Tzu, the art of war Nintendo saw this, Microsoft and Sony did not. while Microsoft and Sony are off waging their console wars, Nintendo is the one doing the growing.
The even easier time is to just save right before fighting the adonis twins and then go into the fight and run immediately to see what color you got. Then you can just adjust timewise from there in the 20 minute interval by waiting in the adonis fight.
Finally some people start speaking out about this. I’m so sick of everyone always saying “does your switch run 4k 500fps? Didn’t think so!” Like bro I don’t care, Nintendo releases really great games that are fun to play and they are completely visible so why do people act like they so desperately need these stupid high graphical abilities. There’s a point where you just can’t even tell and all you can do is brag on your fps.
The gamer culture of “4k 60fps gaming” is just stupidity, while PlayStation and Xbox suicide themes selling expensive machines under their cost with the hope you will buy games a level the gains, Nintendo sell cheap machines with a revenue margin, Xbox sell software, Nintendo sell toys, they sell toys since a hundred years ago, that’s their philosophy, consoles are toys for them, they don’t look to create a subscription model, they just sell toys.
To be realistic, 66% of the US households main TV is 4K. The Switch successor needs to be able to upscale to 4k. Graphics aren't important but compatibility is.
Iwata truly was a man who valued company culture and creativity. He is a man that we need more of but sadly few are like him these days. He truly cared for the fans despite not taking fan feedback.
2:43 damn it still 8 characters for the naming I always named mine “Kid Yosh” since I rather not name him KidYoshi, just bump it to 10-12 Nintendo it won’t be hard
not watching the video as i am not here yet and want to experience it for myself, but im so happy to see this "change" to the game. Vivian was always my favourite partner, i remember around 08 or 09 finding out about the regional difference, i was pretty bummed that we missed a large part of the character development due to how different censorship/localisation was at the time. its not a minor plot detail at all, its one of the major characters of the game, and its a central part of her identity (pun intended). chapter 4 in general has such a cool aesthetic, so im soo excited to play it for myself!
First off it is a minor plot detail because if you remove that detail from the game, the game doesn’t change one bit. Therefore, by definition, it’s a minor detail. It’s also easily miscible because if you skip over the dialogue too quickly and chapter 4, you’ll never know about it. Nintendo made it ambiguous on purpose for a reason. And with all of this strange gender debate that is happening because of the remake people have done some digging online and over on Reddit and Twitter people found an old forum with developers from the original game discussing development with fans, and they confirmed that Vivian was never intended to be transgender and it was just a mistake that localizers made outside of Japan. Simple as that buddy. Stop pushing misinformation!
Gamexplain really made an entire video about this just because Vivian is allegedly trans? (Still up for debate with the ambiguous dialogue) like Jesus way to push a narrative
@@Thecoolgamer-cx9tj you missed the point by a WIDE margin buddy😂😂 it’s kind of ironic for you to tell me it’s not that deep when gamexplain as now made five separate videos about Vivian alone. Sounds like it’s pretty deep to me!
@@Thecoolgamer-cx9tj correct, I could just ignore it. But where’s the fun in that? I’m allowed to speak my mind and put my opinion out there, same as you. If my opinion bothers you that much, you could always just take your own advice and ignore it.🤡
@@Thecoolgamer-cx9tj take your own advice. You sound incredibly hypocritical because you’re currently crying and whining at me because I’m vocal about my opinion. If you don’t like what I have to say, ignore it.
wow it really has the charm and humour of the original in its dialogue. i can tell already a lot of care went into this, i was scared of changes but they all are for the better and improve upon the original, though i will not use the warp pipe in a certain chapter as i liked the backtracking!
The hypocrisy is crazy. When the Mario vs. Donkey Kong remake removes a lot of the custcenes' charm and personality with Mario's unique voicelines and expressiveness, turning them into just Mario running after DK basically, as well as the score system and fall damage which offered a great challenge for the people who wanted one, "it's not a big deal". But when this remake changes some of the dialogue in order to be inclusive and show some representation that was always there in most versions of the original, it's the end of the world. Well except for the Shadow Sirens name. I do admit it is a bit of a shame.
Over on Reddit and Twitter people have done a lot of digging in regards to what was really intended to be in the original games and somebody found a really old forum with a couple of intelligent systems, developers talking with fans and they admitted that Vivian was never intended to be transgender, and it was just a massive mistake, made by localizer in the Italian, French, and Spanish versions. With that becoming more widespread knowledge by the day, people are getting pissed because now technically Nintendo just changed a preestablished character to fit some sort of a narrative. That’s why people cry about things going. Nobody likes it when an existing and established character has their gender or race or something changed about them for the sake of diversity. It’s lazy. People would rather see companies come up with new games or new TV shows or whatever the case maybe and then include their new transgender characters. Stop changing stuff that we already knew was the exact opposite.
The ONLY thing i hate about the Switch Pro controller was paying $75 out the door, other than that its absolutely perfect and i plan to use it for Steam as well if i can.
What is really interesting is how new powerful hardware is treated. Like Resident Evil 2 and 4 remakes. I consider 2 to be one of the most visually impressive games ever, and sure 4 may look technically better, and is a much bigger game, I don't know how necessary the jump to the next-gen really was. On the other hand, I've seen people argue that Bayonetta 3 was held back by the "switch's training wheels". Whereas I think the overall direction of the game, with larger enviroments to accomodate bigger battles is more at fault for the "lesser" graphics. But the game still feels great to play and looks good in it's own way. And many games have proven that a timeless artstyle is way better than trying to push realism.
In the original the character was an Otokonoko, which is a male with feminine traits (female appearance, cross-dressing). In Japanese culture this is NOT a trans character. That's a VERY different and separate thing in Japan. The confusion arises because people in the west will insist "well it's obviously always been coded trans". This is a reductive and low-information view of Japanese culture. To be clear, I don't care if every character in the game is trans. All of this is old hat at this point. I just want to point out that this isn't a "restoring" of the character as the character was never meant to be trans. I suspect that in the coming weeks places like wikipedia will have their Otokonoko page changed to say it includes transgender people, further diminishing the west's understanding of Japanese culture, which is a shame at best and cultural vandalism at worst.
The only one to refer to her as such was Beldam, who openly bullies her. The words of a bigot does not matter. By game's end, everyone that matter refers to her as a woman, even Goombella, who had previously called her a man, states she's a woman.
@@rickymcn1 That info is only coming from bigots, who keep using one screenshot from Goombella's first description and early game text. They always conveniently leave out where it directly contradicts their bullshit.
Just for fun I tried out the loading times on the GCLoader on GameCube. uh boy! hey are near instantaneous, going through the pipes the screen barely turns black before you are out again. The only minor load time is going back to the main area of Rouge Port with the noose.
Nintendo doesn't need to directly match Sony or Microsoft for hardware, but it should keep up some for performance what the main games Nintendo puts out to keep up. I don't need realistic graphics but would like if Nintendo can at least make their simple graphics crisp, textures clear, and animations smooth as with some of the bigger titles like Pokemon SV and even BOTW had me wishing for better. The thing Nintendo has going for it is a dedicated and loyal fanbase, even if they glaze over issues to get the next game.
