I think the phrase you're looking for is: Mule Steps or Log Steps. There's gotta be 10,000 of those darn things! Nice job falling on the Black Bridge. If you're not falling, you're not running hard enough! I tripped coming off the the Red Wall Bridge. Was flying, heading down the N. Kaibab, came across the bridge, mis-judges the step-down at the end of the bridge, and went full windmill arms with legs collapsing, right into the rock steps that initiate that climb after the bridge. Fortunately there was a group of backpackers lounging at the end of the bridge, so my big show wasn't wasted. Some great tips. Hadn't heard of the RecPack!!
