Imagine having 14 weeks to defend a murderer so he doesn’t die. What a job.

I could never do that job. You try to save people who aren’t innocent, by finding loopholes in the system. You could also lose while representing an innocent person, and I don’t know how I could live with that. I guess we just have to hope that the truth will come out and justice will be served.

Is anyone really losing any sleep over this man? He had a tragic upbringing and I feel bad for him, but at the end of the day he is not a good person. Good people don't kill people in cold blood. Most people are never truly sorry (him). They are just sorry they got caught.

I worked that prison for 2yrs and you can still see the blood stains on the cement where this murder took place ..who is fighting for that officer and his family who won't ever get to see him again why aren't these college students fighting for the officers life he was an innocent soul just trying to make ends meet with the job he had and lost his life to some to some decitful inmates whom been lying from the get go ..and probably deserve to be in prison .

There are plenty of people in this world , who have had an abusive childhood , who have come from poverty , who have always have had to push THAT bit harder in life to strive forward in a positive way - they don’t go around murdering other innocent people because of it .

As someone with mental help I’d like to say that if you have no form of support then it is VERY easy to slip into a situation where you hurt yourself and or others. No this doesn’t change the fact that someone is murder, but did killing the person who did it solve anything. No! Especially after the victims family could even see the wrong in this, it’s just not ethical. Killing him put the people who in there own bad mental state where they have to deal with a murder they did and they are getting paid to do because it’s their job! I just think overall this is a lot of psychological shit that no one is considering and it’s damaging to everyone. That’s my rant

I cannot understand people who are against the death penalty, it boggles my mind. Or inmates on death row who keep appealing, saying, "Please don't kill me!" Isn't that what your victim said to you right before you shot them, stabbed them, strangled them? They begged for mercy and you showed NONE? I'm not talking about an inmate claiming innocence---if an inmate says they didn't do it, the case needs to be examined thoroughly. I'm talking about admitted, 100% guilty killers. They wait decades before they are executed, they know the date they will be killed---the innocent victim didn't get that. They woke up not knowing they would die that day. And I would say a lethal injection is quite humane compared to what the murderer did---you commited some gruesome, violent crime, but you get a cushy injection that puts you to sleep. Oh and don't forget, they get to select a last meal of steak and lobster, call their mom to say goodbye, and meet with a chaplain/priest/rabbi/imam to get spiritual guidance, all the things their victim didn't get. I would say that our death penalty is pretty fair considering what most of the people who receive it are guilty of.

Guys there's more to his story. And there wasn't dna on the weapon used to stab the guard not on the paper nor in the room where the officer was stabbed.

When they were trying to figure a strategy, mitigating factors, dna, and clemency all I heard was excuses. Millions of people have a horrific upbringing and they make the choice to be better. Before the guard murder he was already serving a 99 year term for a murder he participated in at 16. He is not a victim.

Well you shouldn't of killed that prison guard. Shoot, that prison guard probably have family too. You killed that man and that criminal derserve to live? No.

I disagree with the death penalty. Just lock criminals up & people are safe from them. No need for such a severe punishment.

Your past doesn’t excuse your present actions... If they haven’t had a good upbringing, by no means does that mean they can murder and get away with it. Sympathy shouldn’t be a common emotion when it comes to dealing with criminals.

I'm sick of their childhood being used as a reason for being a murderer, I had abuse in my childhood and even throughout my teenage years but I would NEVER even think of harming another humans, thousands of people are brought up in abusive, drug filled homes, but guess what? They're not murderers or even abusers, it's an excuse to get an evil person, who has already murdered previously, off the death penalty and get to live while his victims have no life anymore and his killers gets to laugh at the fact he got a stay, Im glad he was executed

These murders are always looking for a way out they want sympathy,,,oh my father use to beat me,my mother was on drugs but what about the persons they killed took their lives and now they have no voice, there life on earth has been robbed by some mean wicked evil person what right do they have to deprive a person of the little life they have!!!

People are talking about he deserved to die but here is the thing, the first murder occurred when he was only 17 and he didn't actually do the crime his dad did Robert was convicted under the law of parties and second of all is that the murder of that guard didn't have enough evidence on him but he was still found guilty he had a unfair trial because they wanted to close the case as soon as possible

The death penalty needs to be abolished federally and all 50 states.

The death penalty serves a primal urge for retaliation and closure. Does removing the punishment of incarceration seem like an appropriate action? The debate over the death penalty is broken down into categories. Moral and financial arguments seem like the main ones. Is there a moral argument for preserving life so that punishment is served? Dead people feel no pain. Is there a moral argument for keeping an inmate alive in order to study and understand the psychological characteristics of a murderer? If we base an argument on financial grounds what does that say about our willingness to pay for justice?

Anyone who is caught red-handed, provided due-process, and is convicted beyond reasonable doubt relating to the murder of another human being, whilst being of sound mind, should be sentanced to death. The deterrent for a crime should always be worse than the crime in order for the deterrent to be effective. And to commit murder of the first degree should be met with the ultimate punishment of death. High-risk behaviour should be just that, and the chance of life should never be in the perpetrator's mind when committing these crimes.

Ive seen soo many death row inmate interviews! And every single claims to be inoccent or have been set up or not enough evidence!

i believe if you intentionally murder someone a life for a life is fair. But what i don’t get is these people are being sentenced to death because they killed someone which yeah is fair enough, and yet they don’t sentence serial killers and people who commit mass shootings to death when these guys commit one murder. I feel a bit if irony here

Personally I'm strongly opposed to the death penalty under any circumstances. I don't think government sanctioned murder has any place in modern society, regardless of the crime.
