They took ankles broken to a whole other level, all jokes aside I'm glad she's okay and recovering I hope she feels better.

I hope she will fully recover fast.

You never climb back down a rock wall... you sort of just hang on and float while the safety gear is lowering you. This means if she were to have mis-stepped at any point she wouldve fell straight down! Obviously the gear wasn't working or attached correctly... the spokeperson made it sound like she stood on top of the thing and just flew off! Seems like she got to the top and began to try and descend down while depending on the safety gear to carry most of her weight like it should have. I hope the family wins!

Ouch. Hopefully she makes a speedy recovery.

Poor girl! I went there once, on this parkour thing up in the air, and got stuck. Me and my friends were bawling our eyes out and I was the only one that actually finished the course without having to be rescued.

OMG!! i broke my leg at an urban air in illinois 2 years ago. i’m so happy she’s recovering and healing well.

I'm surprised because most facilities like this force you to sign a waiver, meaning they aren't liable if your child gets hurt. I hope in this case the litigation is successful because it's the staff that messed up.

I've taken my kids to places like this including urban air here and I always see teens attaching the cables. People make mistakes not making excuses but especially teens make mistakes so I always watch and make sure stuff is done properly when my kids precipitate

I always hear about these things happening at urban air. Something even happened with my cousin where she got stuck in their ball pit and went under it. She also got a concussion from it and was barely breathing when they pulled her out. I really hope they hire more responsible employees that know what they’re doing, then this place wouldn’t be such a nightmare. I wish a speedy recovery to her and hope she recovers

I’ve been to urban air before. Usually at these locations a large foam pit is right under the rock wall, with a small walkway of padding around the edge of it. I’m not sure if this location has the same design as the ones I’ve been to, but if so idk why she jumped on the padding instead of the foam pit

She's still young hopefully she will fully recover. My right ankle is never the same when i injured it playing basketball

She got to the top and jumped off thinking the ground was soft. I'm not sure where this is the business' fault from what was described. Half ass reporting or a nothing burger story

I thank God that she is damaged worse and she is recovering well but I can see a lawsuit from this because someone was not paying attention to all safety protocols

As someone who’s had about 4 years in a similar industry(Ziplining) you should always be aware of guests climbing at heights and not trust anyone but yourself to make sure they’re safe. There’s a waiver of course but these little adventure parks obviously need some serious training put out for their locations which consist of staff that is mostly high schoolers.

Right as I saw this I immediately thought of Urban Air and bursted out laughing when I found out I was right, That company needs to be shut down. I nearly fractured my knee there.

I broke 1 leg and I thought it was more painful than child birth. It took me 2 surgeries, 3 plates, and 23 screws to fix it. It also took me a year to walk again. I can never wear boots or high heels or wedges again. I cannot climb stairs or go down them either. It completely change my life cuz I cannot hike or run like I uses too. She lucky she survived that drop. Hopes she has a better recovery than me.

Firstly, can I just say her mother is STUNNING!! Seriously, she's drop dead gorgeous, wow🙌💖 2ndly, I'm so glad she's ok n pray for a full recovery n that they win their case!! I've been to a similar rock climbing place in the past, and they PUSHED safety and what to do if we let go mid climb, etc! We had a partner on the ground essentially strapped to us, so if we fell/jumped etc, we wouldn't actually fall to the ground. The ropes were secured and the other person was an added precaution, and the staff would slowly lower us down, even if it was a planned descent down. There is literally no excuse for this girl's injuries!! She should've been suspended in the air regardless of how she was coming off the wall, and slowly lowered down!! This company is obviously negligent, this is truly insane. She could've died! As well as so many others!!! Shameful

I used to work at urban air and everyone knows after we strap you in your supposed to hook it up yourself it has instructions on the rock wall so idk why she thought it was a good idea to just start climbing with nothing attached that’s completely her fault or the moms fault for not paying close enough attention but either way Urban air is not safe the amount of injuries I saw there because of parents not paying attention to their kids is a lot they put me on the zip lines on my first day and I barely knew how to work them the franchise should have more safety control

I went there for a birthday party for one of my little sister’s friends and was being very protective of her. Of course I know both of us wouldn’t dare to do the rock climbing.

“I’m going to a urban air for a birthday party tomorrow! I’m definitely getting a membership.”

Last time I went to urban air there wasn't any older adults on staff almost all were teenagers

It's almost getting to the point where establishments will have to have parents sign a no fault waiver when they allow their children to visit such places. If an accident is because of negligence, then yes the facility is responsible. However, if the child ignores the rules of the facility and becomes injured, then the parents shouldn't be allowed to sue.

These places need a contract that says "at your own risk". Sick of seeing foolish errors turn into lawsuits. Everyone is just "pay me" after a tragedy, it's sickening. Lifeguards get sued too when responsibility is on the adult or supervising parent. It's nobody else's job to watch your kid.

Oh my!! I wish her a speedy recovery. I just had foot surgery today. I don't recommend breaking anything. Anyways yes no jumping off anything other then the trampolines. But how about the safety equipment? Never was used. I would like to know why not. Dose not matter if she has jumped or not. That has nothing to do with the case at all. The case is where was the safety equipment! Nothing else is part of the case. I FEEL FOR HER SO SO MUCH!

Not surprised- I went to urban air not too long ago and I saw fights breaking down, people waiting in long lines and kids running around everywhere. The staff sucked too, it was a bunch of teenagers on their phones who decided to ignore anyone who wanted assistance with the equipment- a little girl was just there waiting to climb while the staff members were just talking amongst each other and eventually the little girl started playing around with the ropes, figured out how to disconnect it from her harness and walked away 💀

I personally like going to Urban Air because of the climbing stuff, zipline, vr, and laser tag, and sometimes the trampolines but seeing all these bad things happening to people there because the employees don't do their jobs right and making sure everything is safe and secure really worries me and makes me not want to go anymore. I really hope the family wins and that all of the Urban Airs will finally learn their lesson and make sure everything is safe and secure before opening and right before a person does whatever activity it is they want to do.

I broke my ankle at a trampoline park a few years ago. Never been on a trampoline since. You gotta be very careful when jumping around in a place like that.
