I always wanted to ask this: Does that windows key work legally globally? I’m in Taiwan and the only legal way to get windows here is to buy from authorized retailers. At least that is what Microsoft and retailers said.

Windows licenses are worldwide, they do not region lock keys, that’s why these are so cheap, they really come from countries where MS sells windows well below normal prices.

Just so you know, Albania is located in Southeastern Europe. It is just across the Mediterranean sea from the "Heel" of the Italian "Boot". It has Montenegro to the north, North Macedonia to the east, and Greece on it's southern border. Now, you know where it is.

ngl im on a 8600k right now. i built my machine during the height of over priced PC parts. but had to be done because i hadn't upgraded in over 8 years. if its within your budget 14th gen intel or even the recently released 7000 series CPU's from AMD are looking decent in terms of upgrades. might wait till some of the x3d chips come down in price tho

Agreeing 15th gen or Ryzen 8000 would be the better wake up time to upgrade chips. I do feel a smoothness from 9th to 12700KF though, it doesn't stutter on current games since the upgrade. Beast Lake should also be epic for the longer term. We need to hop to the newer process nodes but have another year or so of smaller theoretical sleeper upgrades for those all ready on a current platform. 7800X3D has been ranging about 380 lately with sales/shopping around.

Nice to see the 14th series will be up to 32 threads, I wonder how AMD will respond. 64? I'm not really a hard core gamer - I'm more interested in productivity and development. Too bad VMWare still struggles with eCores.

I’ve heard you guys say 64GB of DDR4 ram is only $100 now. I can’t find it anywhere for that price. Not even 2666 which I don’t think anyone buys.

if youre in the USA that seems roughly believable. 64GB DDR5 5600 here goes for £154, and DDR4 its £117 thats with no sales on currently. there is a sale for DDR4 from crucial for £99 right now.

Think I saw a kit the other day on Newegg around 106. Some sales on Newegg/Amazon etc put it around 100 for 64GB. Would wait on the next Prime Day soon and Fantastech possibly around the corner again.

Got that 12700KF back on Prime Day. 14th is a refresh. I think we will see 14600K for gaming recommendations, 14700K looks promising with 4 more E cores, higher clocks on that and 14900K would be the ones I will look at but I'm probably good until Ryzen 8000/Beast Lake. Only time I think about wanting to upgrade are during raid time, but it's smooth and runs fine. The gains drop off after a certain point unless the price is phenomenal. I'm kind of content just trying the new games with what I have. Am still at 1440P for gaming though.

I just noticed that CPU-Z 2.08 has the reference for the i5-14600K 14C/20T CPU as 868 single, 10249 multi. My 5700x is 621 single and 5964 multi. Wow.

The 20 core i7 surprised me, to me it looks like Intel uses the design space of a P core to fit 4 e cores, so this would be 8+3 "core spaces". I've never seen an engineer who likes assymetrical designs. I'd wager they went for the 8p+12e due to yields or artificial product tiering. Either way, my P core needs are relatively minimal (although more is always nice), I welcome all the e cores I can get my grubby lil mits on.

I literally just got a free $500 given to me. It's burning a hole in my pocket but I know if I don't eat the marshmallow right now, if I can just wait for the 14th gen, I'll get a much better marshmallow. It's so hard but I'm doing it; I'm waiting for the 14th gen being released today. I'm a winner! Not like everyone says!

I have a question; building new pc for my "midrange/long-term" need's. Bought used zotac white 3060 12GB gpu ( was good price ). I do want ddr5 platform ( last pc was I5-750 ddr3, got it at launch.... Long ago ). Say prices stay the same ( USA one's ), is it worth waiting 3 months for 14700k or getting now 13600k, and call it done. Plan to use single FHD 1080p monitor for another year or two. I'm not streaming, and I'm living in Croatia, so it might be 4 months waiting instead of 3. ❤❤. Thank you ❤❤ 🌟🌟

I currently have a 5800X paired with a 4090 and 32g of ram. I game only at 4K ultra settings. Would going to the 14700K from the 5800x be a good upgrade?

Yes probably. Alot more sc & mc performance. If 4k@120hz locked is a the goal then it makes sense. The 5800x can´t maintain a steady 120hz in some games that require alot of single core performance. But it´s still a good cpu which you have already paid for. It performs well in all games. The choice is in the grayzone. Depends on your standars.

I was planning to get the 7800X3D but instead got the 12700KF for 215 $ in the future IF i need the faster CPU i can get the 14700K in a couple years probably for 300$ or less than that. That's cool.

I dont gamew and my usage is mainly single core performance. I also dont want something that runs really hot... easy to cool... I5, I7, I think the i9 runs very hot no?

Dayum, and here I was considering upgrading the 7700k in my other system, now I just feel like I should sell it hahah edit: Having had some experience with enterprise machines from Dell (and the likes) those things tend to be locked down af, they are built with chips and bios'es (biosi? plural of bios...) that is hermetically sealed from a user to do any tampering with them at all. I dont know if its defective chips per se, but theres certainly some binning going on. Im more convinced it has to do with the systems they are going in being made tamper proof so they rip off/ disable/ dont produce integrated graphics, support for voltage control and everything else deemed either unecessary or a liability for the market they are going into. But I dont know, just guessing.

Unless you are a hobbyist , enthusiast and have the money to spend waiting is prudent. Just ask yourself what tasks are you performing on your current machine and are any of them having performance issues? -- This exercise slows me down and calms the FOMO every time the new hotness comes out.

The value of 13700k comes to content creators or for people who builds sff workstations. As we all know, 13900k needs the best cooling possible so you will need larger cases. For pure gaming, intel isn't even a recommendation. Just go for 7800x3D and still be able to upgrade next year. So ruling out 13700k makes no sense.

Tell me you’re an AMD fanboy without telling me… The 7800X3D is nice, but the 13700K is the same price and demolishes it the minute you do more than “launch game” Also, the 13600k exists for $100 less Also, the Intel boards cost less

The problem with intel its y a few years and thats it. If you like to chase the newer tech then dont buy the best use the savings to buy the new motherboard : ) 2-3 years. if your going to keep it for years to come buy the best and forget about it.
