@@teabaggg23 An illegal encampment is not a right. They knew the encampment was illegal when they set it up. They were not arrested for protesting; they were arrested for refusing to leave their illegal encampment. Other students also have a right to use the area.
@@manuel_p537 Free speech does not apply to company employees and to behavior on private property. Regardless, camping is not free speech. Free speech is speech, behavior is controllable.
Private property owned by who. Our universities are not owned by any private parties. They are answerable to the government and to our lawyers, and I guarantee they're going to be paying out the nose for doing this.
Dear students you are morally right and I am so proud in these days there are people left in the world that are brave enough to point out and shout against evil.
Maybe they should have thought about suspension prior to engaging in an encampment! I’m all for peaceful protests, but setting up tents and disturbing the PAYING STUDENTS during finals week and graduation is completely over the line. Good for ASU for not tolerating it!
No. It is a public institution that is there to serve us. The people. It's what we make of it. Laws are written by... PEOPLE! That's US. If a law sucks, we get to change it. That's why democracy rules!
@@teabaggg23 If Democracy rules, then what is your problem? The people have spoken. Just because you think your side is right doesn't mean it is right, and that it's the majority opinion. Most people in this country have put up with this B.S. for no reason other than politeness. They let you people burn down cities, assault people, shut down speech for everyone that disagrees with you, etc. Now, when you get the book thrown at you, your defense is... "Free Speech?" No one takes you people seriously anymore. No one but yourselves. Literal walking contradictions and oxymorons. I can't.
Is it lawful to camp on that lawn? Hey, there are people in jail over 2 years without any charges, just for being in the vicinity of the US Capitol on the infamous “J6”. This seems like equal justice.
It’s called consequences. Students get suspended for far less than these terrorist lovers. Free speech & trespassing on private property are completely different. For example, the hotel you paid to stay can get you arrested for trespassing if they ask you to leave. No questions ask. They don’t even have to allow you back to get your things. Maybe go back to class and learn something.
This IS what they're learning. Cameras in the classrooms and lecture halls. Why don't they want you to see what these sic bastards are teaching our kids. It starts in the K- 12. We should definitely have cameras in those classrooms , but the democrats don't want to expose their agenda. Folks, we've lost a generation to these ideals. Face it. Quit voting for them unless you want this as the new Americans
News flash you actually have to be committing a crime that is a state or federal statute in order to be trespassed off of public property. ASU is not private property it is a public school. The supreme Court has already ruled that in order to trespass anybody off of public property they have to be committing a crime. Just because they broke a school rule does not meet the threshold of a crime. First amendment auditors on RU-vid do it all the time there are policies at some public buildings and they cannot trespass you because you are not following their policy. It has to be a crime.. those students were not committing a specific crime they were trespassed off of public property because of an encampment that the school deemed to be against school rules. Show news flash you can't be trespassed from public property and threatened with arrest or arrested unless you're committing a crime on public property. Like I said the school making a rule that you can't have an encampment does not meet that threshold. Cities and towns have paid money to lots of first amendment auditors for that exact reason. You have a right under the Constitution to protest peacefully. It doesn't say you are not allowed to have an encampment to protest in the Constitution. The campus police charge them with trespassing that is not allowed, they will be paying out judgments to a lot of people for violating their constitutional right to protest on public property. There are lots of videos and then you have to charge each person individually and have proof individually for each person they can't say well the crowd was doing it. And I don't even support these protests on college campuses lots of people have tests and things that they were studying and they were interrupted. They are not allowed to trespass you from public property unless you are committing a crime under state or federal law. So like I said just because the school has a ruler regulation that the students weren't following does not meet the threshold of a crime under state or federal law in order to be trespassed. A simple Google search will tell you in order to trespass someone from public property you have to be committing a crime. It is really really bad and they are going to pay a lot of money to these adult toddlers who were protesting and it's going to take money away from other activities that the school could be funding. Like I said I don't support the protests I wish somebody would have thought about that before they started arresting people
@@sarabrant723 Time place and manner restrictions as well. And they pretty much occupied an area not intended for the purpose of camping. They are trespassed legally. Nothing illegal about it. Go suck on the bottle now little baby.
@@sarabrant723 Lawful trespass was issued. They cannot go back. Time, place, and manner restrictions apply. And they also broke the law by occupying buildings and committing criminal damage. They are law breakers! Go cry in your little corner.
they were on PRIVATE PROPERTY......if ASU SAID THEY HAD TO GET OFF THEIR PROPERTY AND THEY DON'T DO THAT, THEN YOU DESERVE TO BE KICKED OUT OF ASU....TIME TO GROW UP KIDDIES.
If you are the parents of one of the 15 arrested, obviously your child has no respect for authority. They probably have no respect for you either. Cut off the money and let them fend for themselves. They should be ashamed of themselves. They don’t need school they need a good reprimand.
Transpassing and No Transpassing!! I recommend that you read the regulations of the universities ,which clearly describes under what conditions and for how long the students can use universities' territory ! The territory of the universities is private territory!!! Free speech versus private territory!
What "due process" (time line 0:45) did the massacred Israeli babies and citizens get on Oct. 7th...deport immediately. DHS, POTUS and DOJ strangely quiet about campus protests against Israel protecting themselves from terrorists and sympathizers for terrorists.
They aren't silent, Biden spoke yesterday and clearly stated, the protesters have not done anything to change his mind. The house just passed a new bill, of course Maga congress disagreed. On it's way to the senate.
"Not been proven of guilty of anything" -_- My dude needs to give up his bar certification, you would be arrested ANYWHERE else if you got criminally trespassed there instead and the law doesn't have any sanctioned conditions beyond what constitutes a crime in the first place! Bottom line: they messed around and found out! Besides that, the first amendment doesn't apply here because they were stupid enough to camp out in protest ON private property! By default, a college student is already expected to be adult enough to accept responsibility for your own consequences, so if they DIDN'T go into this fully aware and ready for that then oh well-sucks to be them-it's nobody's fault but their own for having weak convictions. IMO anything lighter would be an insult to peaceful protestors of yesteryear ACTUALLY worthy of admiration! History respects many of them as men and women of conviction, not spoiled self-entitlement!
They had no problems pitching a tent IN CLEAR VIOLATION of the campus rules. I'm sure they can find a tent that was left on campus a long with the garbage they left and property destroyed.
@@Tony-fb1gd and people died unjustly on Oct 7. Where are the protests for the actual genocide being committed in Armenia and northern Nigeria? Seems these "protests" only care about protecting Hamas. Just a thought
@@Tony-fb1gd Upon hearing of the hamas october 7th terrorist attack at the Israeli concert including murder, rape and beheading of infants.. ..many so called Gaza civilians were dancing, celebrating and rejoicing in the Gaza streets. There was not one palestinian advocating against the terrorist attack. There was no protests in America on college campuses. The palestinian hypocrisy is self revealing. Personally I don’t condone what is happening in Gaza. I’m simply pointing out the hypocrisy.
You right to free speech should not interfere or limit other people rights. When protesters preclude other students to access university or move freely on campus, such protest is no longer peaceful
They have been taught a valuable life lesson , ' actions have consequences ' . If you are told you will be expelled for breaking the rules then expect to be expelled and don't whine about it when it happens .
They were arrested for illegally building a camp and trespassing. People are entitled to the court’s presumption of innocence. They are not entitled to the university’s presumption of innocence.
GOOD ABOUT DAMN TIME these collages are under FIRE big time over this crap/// the real SHAME is this guy trying to call himself an AMERICAN and pressing the laws to FIT HIS NARRATIVE open borders does it every time
It was trespassing and violation of university policies. University policy doesn't require a guilty verdict. It's like a store saying "no shoes, no shirt, no service." They don't need to wait for a trial and guilty verdict either.
Amerika is a land of opportunities!! Universities prepare students for life !!!! Those students who want to live in a tent camp are not surprised that their wish is fulfilled!! So Fee Palestinian or Freedom for Palestinian, the two do not mean the same thing because a land free if no one owns in freedom means people how lives on that land are independent from others ! So go back to school and learn 😂😂😂😂
So....students that aren't so smart after all. Miss your final, miss your graduation. Start over next year at a different school. Good for ASU, don't play with these students
0:50 that lawyer seems kinda stupid. He claims that they haven’t been convicted of anything yet…………THAT’S WHAT THE COURTS ARE FOR. That’s what comes next. And you can’t “peacefully protest”after you’ve been told to leave their property
