it´s true that waddles´ german name can be translated into 'flab' but the actual german word is 'schwabbel', which sounds very similar to waddles and is very fun to say. befitting for a fun character
Jesus. Didn’t realize this show was censored so much. My daughter and I used to watch this show constantly when she was 4. We laughed like crazy. Never once did she try and stab me with a gnome or donate 7 bags of blood. She did call me a butt face once though.

You could only find the episode on the web. Nevertheless it was dubbed to Russian somehow when I found it
Actually they only cut the symbol from the first season. Since "Boss Mabel" they changed the symbol a bit , so that other countrys don't have to remove it.

Pretty sure "Miners" was cut because it doesn't have a dual meaning in other languages. The joke would make no sense to non-English speaking countries, since minor and miner are likely different sounding words with no relation.
Also the part when Dipper shows Wendy his mark. In English it makes sense since Dipper doesn't sound like a weird nickname, but in my language Big Dipper is literally called "Great wagon'. Can you imagine all the characters calling him the Great Wagon all summer? 💀 That's why I like watching American/English stuff in the original language, you come across a lot of jokes you missed and it's like special easter eggs

In Romania "Mystery Shack" is called "coliba misterelor" ("the hut of mysteries" or "mystery hut") There is also a second name for the building is "Mystery house" or in Romanian "casa misterelor" However, the first name is the official one

The guards in Gideon Rising were most likely just paralyzed. The area the gnomes hit is just around the place on the spine that enables movement. For example, that episode of Rick and Morty where the car must “Keep Summer Safe”, and shoots a laser into a guys back which paralyses him. A similar action probably happened to the guards, just with gnome hats instead of lasers
Also the well known "I GOT SOME CHILDREN I NEED TO MAKE INTO CORPSES!" was translated to "I have to cach two children" or something simmilar in the greek dub
Hello, im from Mexico where the name of Waddles is also Pato (Duck). This is a deeper joke than you thought: Waddle means: To walk with short steps while moving the whole body which is the way ducks walk. So joke´s on you sucka!!!
*Sigh...* The problem isn't really about what's "safe" to show. Outdated traditions, and their equally outdated adherents are. If a show can be viewed as is by kids in one country without negative effects, it likely could everywhere. Can't imagine the adults who are applying the censorships never did things they where technically considered too young for by their elders when they where kids, and now as the older generation have literally always done, they want to place the same restrictions they themselves hated (and ignored) as children on the next generation.
I'm French and watched the show in english but after seeing your video I was curious about how my country called Waddles. His french name is Dandinou. Dandiner is a verb meaning "to waddle", and the "ou" at the end makes it cute, so basically he's still called Waddles. But it sounds really silly in french!

i'm Dutch and when you said it was called the riddle shack, i was like "oh yeah, that was the name" cause i always see mystery shack on it i always refered to it as that. also we call waddles ''waggel'' which translates to waddle so it's very close
