A other grocery hack I do now is to bring empty cans to the grocery’s recycle machine then keep the receipt and present it to the cashier for the amount to be subtracted from my grocery bill.

Bonjour ! You're videos are always interesting and helpful. Thanks. I already subscribed to your both channels and I put like. You also help me to keep up with my English skills. Keep up your excellent work. Greetings from Vaudreuil-Dorion in Québec. nb : sometimes I put the speed of the videos at 1.5 or 2 and I still understand everything even if you speak fast at 2x. I'm looking forward to watch your future videos. Merci !

I don't know if this is a hack, but this is something I do.. Whenever there are sales on the personal hygiene or cleaning supplies I know I'll use, I'll stock up on those and I try to keep those purchases separate from groceries. I'll save money on those products, they won't go bad, and I won't be going to the store specifically for those items when I actually need them, meaning I will almost never pay regular price for them. It also means I won't be tempted to buy other things that I didn't plan on or otherwise don't need. I also do that with other items such as socks and boxer briefs. =) The point being, the less trips you make to the grocery store, the less you will spend in general and on things you don't necessarily need.. In essence, it's also easier to stay in budget when you create a budget.

Walmart is not considered a grocery by your credit card. It's a department store so you only get 1% cash back instead of 4%.

I haven't shopped at Walmart using that card, so thanks for sharing that! But that did surprise me!

I have the same credit card if you keep 5K in your account (Ultimate package) the fee is waived, I hope you do this. I also have Scotia iTrade which gives me 5 free trades a year with the Ultimate package. You clearly don’t have a Costco membership you will save thousands,I only buy gas ⛽️ from Costco which is about 8-10 cents a litre cheaper which pays for my membership and they deliver. One example is a rotisserie chicken 1.2K is 7.99 at Sobeys it’s I believe 14 or 15 dollars.

I actually haven't been to costco, as we don't drive here it would be a bit complicated to haul bulk items. But I heard they also deliver. Thanks for the example, that's a really good deal!

Hello, so your budget is 700 a month for two people? I’m asking because I’ve only been 2 weeks in 🇨🇦 and a couple of months ago someone told me their budget for two people was 500 a month but I seem to be spending more 😅 Btw, your video gives excellent advice. Thanks!!
@LivinginCanada
@LivinginCanada 5 месяцев назад
Yes, approximately! Excluding any eating out. But that budget of $700 includes a lot of organic foods and relatively high quality products. I'm sure $500 can work out too if you pick and choose your brands.

What tha heck are you talking about. I pay 1000 cad for a big 1 bedroom apt in downtown montreal. Includes heating, gym. You just need to know how to look for a nice rent.

@@juanesteban8938 He/she is probably talking about downtown Toronto or Vancouver / nearby areas. From what I understand, Quebec is much more economical in terms of rent.

The logical math people can measure their food but they still can't control their eating. I'm rather an emotional person who doesn't track any data yet I can control precisely what I eat and indeed I can eat like a computer, yet even Warren Buffet can't stop drinking cokes and eating candy. 🙂
@LivinginCanada

It's indeed highly emotional..but those who want to make progress in life have to try and manage them :) Not easy, granted! And, good for you!
