Espeon and umbreon problem wasnt the hapiness mechanic, You could still evolve other hapness pokemon like crobat and blissey (after getting the National Dex) . The problem was there was no time system in FR/LF, so there was no day and night cycle to determine which of the two it should become.

I think the biggest let down or Gen 3 was getting rid of the day and night system. Like why did they do that I mean it was literally in every after gen 1 BESIDES Gen 3 games. Like you even set a time in RSE but it seems pointless

Waaait a minute! Friendship evolution is possible in Firered and Leafgreen - but there's no day/ night cycle, so you can't evolve Eevee into Espeon or Umbreon. But, you can still evolve Golbat and Chansey! 😅

I think Kangaskhan's baby becomes Cubone when it's mother dies and it can only evolve into a Kangaskhan if it stayed with it's mother otherwise it becomes a Marowak. The changes in the look of the baby and Cubone are just because Cubone has to survive on it's own and adopt to not having a mother

Marowak was supposedly the middle stage, so it would have been more of a never ending cycle. Baby cubone is born, grows up into Guardia, had babies of its own and dies. That actually implies that's part of it's natural reproductive cycle, some animals do die shortly after giving birth, fish and insects mostly.

The issue with Espeon and Umbreon is time of day, not friendship. Regular friendship evolutions - such as Golbat to Crobat - work just fine in FRLG, though you need to have the Nat'l Dex for it to actually complete. Espeon and Umbreon don't work simply because FRLG don't have an RTC, so there is no day or night.

@@SharkWitchMeruna RSE has an RTC, so you can trade Eevee there and evolve them. Aside from that, they're available as starters in Colosseum, and XD changed the way they evolved (basically, it's friendship plus a Key Item in your bag, either the Sun Shard or Moon Shard) so they can be evolved there as well.

You can't get Umbreon and Espeon in FR/LG because there's no day/night cycle not because they were worried you might be able to raise their friendship too much before getting the national dex. This is evident if you look at Crobat. If your Golbat's friendship is raised enough before receiving the national dex, the evolution animation will start and then suddenly stop with a question mark.

I've always thought that was dumb. I get that FR/LG wanted to be a pure remake (outside of the Sevii Islands), but at the very least they should've included the friendship evolutions in the Kanto dex. The Golbat thing happened to me when I was doing a Mono Poison run and it bugged the crap out of me.

12:30 just because Chase beat Sabrina, doesnt mean they're a "trainer like you". If they are also talking about a nod to Gold/Silver. Theyre referring to GOLD being the trainer in those games, not Red. I assume this, especially when theyre also hinting at a reality of gold/silver existing with Archers inclusion / reforming Rocket

Master balls appear on the poster in the Arcade because the events of lets go pikachu/eevee take place after the events (a couple years I think) of red/blue/yellow. But considering how rare masterballs are, its still weird that so many would be on a poster

I have to say THANKFULLY my dad was into pokemon back with gen 1-3 so when-ever I did not have internet yet, he would at work print out a dex and a walkthrough on how to glitch mew for pokemon yellow. So I was spared those playground rumours! And goal achived, there was at least one thing I didn't hear of! (Never bothered to get a Melmetal. So I didn't have it interact with crystals either.)

The Triangle that Deoxys is in is explained in the Adventures Manga. Its called a Delta Shield or Delta Barrier, can't remember which one, anyway its a special combination of Light Screen and Barrier that Deoxys uses to defend itself when injured, weak or defending from attacks like the one that destroyed the meteor it was in during the Delta Episode

In Japanese there's one word for the entire blue-green segment of the color spectrum (so blues, greens, and cyans) and it can be validly interpreted as either "blue" or "green" into English but there are also specific words for green that isn't blue ("midori", derived from their word for the corroded layer that forms on copper as it oxidizes) and a word I forget that means "indigo" (and thus what many of us would first think when hearing the word "blue"). So characters whose names in Japanese are Blue and Green getting their names swapped isn't too surprising in any way, even if it is interesting trivia.

@@Dredd181 Bruno makes the most sense. Bruno is tanned (Chuck is not and we also know his wife isn't). Bruno has black hair (Just like Hau), while Chuck and his wife both have brown hair. Hau's eyes are black (So are Bruno's), while Chuck has brown eyes. Everything leans to Bruno (However, most likely explaination is that is gonna be someone we will never meet).

What would also be interesting is if instead of being Hau's father, if Brawly was the father of the main character of S/M and/or US/UM. It could help explain the surfboard that seen outside of their house. Other than that, I feel like the only fathers we'll ever get to uncover are Norman of Hoenn and Giovanni, the father of Silver.

Brawley looks a few years too young to be Hau's father. I think that Chuck, the gym leader in Cianwood is Hau's dad because he seem to have a similar personality and body-type to Hala, Hau's grandpa.

About the Master Balls, I guess there is an issue with us players wrongly understanding the statement of the Silph Co President. What he hands to us is, like he said, the prototype of the Master Ball. But we assumed that this has to be the only one then, which I believe is not true. Why? Because auf Giovanni's sprite in FR/LG. He holds a ball clearly resembeling the Master Ball in it's color scheme. For me this is proof that Team Rocket already had the plans to develop this ball and they just wanted the Silph Co to mass-produce it for them (or maybe the Silph even stole the plans from Team Rocket?). And as Team Rocket owns the Game Corner/ Arcade, they could (of course) plan to give out the mass-produced balls as prices, like they do with Porygon (which is also produced by Silph). This could even explain why the color scheme for this specific ball is like the poison color scheme in the games in general (which is the preferred type of Team Rocket?). In short, Team Rocket and Silph are closely working together since a longer time (established through Porygon in Let's Go at least) and the Silph President is just a stingy old man who doesn't want to pay you in money (maybe even because you ruined a great deal he was about to make). Plus, there is that "special Pokéball delivery" that Oak receives at the beginning of the game, which could possibly be a Master Ball as well.

This is not an easter egg in the kanto games but in sun and moon(or ultra I don't remember) a guy gives you a nugget. His dialogue matches that of another nugget guy from sevii islands. When you talk to him again, he tells you that he used to dig up nuggets in the sevii islands.

I just battled Sabrina in Crystal in where she says to you afterwards that three years prior (most likely right after her battle with Red), she foresaw a battle against another strong trainer (Gold). This Let’s Go dialogue is probably a retroactive nod to that line of dialogue.

Regarding the Espeon and Umbreon point, even though they are obvious “Kanto” and “Kansai” regions in Japan, I think they’re part of one big region in the Pokémon universe. Here’s why: - Every region you need AT LEAST 8 badges (Gary had 10 in Kanto), and other Hoenn and Sinoh and every other region clearly have more than “8 gym cities”, and realistically a region would be bigger than the limitation of a game. - Johto has no league of its own; Koga from Kanto got promoted, Lance became champ, etc - Kanto and “Johto” being one big region but two different leagues could be something like “Eurocup” and the “Champion’s League”. - A big chunk of the Pokémon introduced in Gen 2 aren’t “new” at all, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Pichu, Espeon, Umbreon, Slowking, Kingdra, Politoed, Crobat, Steelix, Scizor.... all the base Pokémon exist in Kanto so why wouldn’t their baby forms and evolutions NOT exist also? It’s basic logic. Also in the first movie we see the pirate using Donphan and we see Marrill in the short, further proof of them being one big region.

Did you know, that in Pokemon Fire Red and Leaf Green, the attendant in the Vermillion gym refers to Flying-type Pokemon as Bird-type Pokemon. Also Pokemon Red and Blue the same NPC refers to Lt. Surge Pokemon are strong against Bird and Water type Pokemon, but was fixed in the Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee.

The presence of the sylph master ball tells us that it was not quite so secret and that at the very least the outwards design of the pokeball was being already used in advertisements, maybe intended to be a slightly better pokeball than the ultra ball so they could edge out Devon by having a non-situational pokeball with 3x catch rate.

I know im a bit late, but... In the original Kanto story (RBGY), the Masterball was only in production as a prototype. Since the events of LGPE do happen a while after this, its not hard to believe that by the time LGPE has begun, that the Masterball is an official pokeball that is produced by Silphco and given away at big contests or tournaments or other situations like this

i've always been under the impression that cubone and kangaskhan are connected but not related. my theory is that marowaks have a high chance of dying after giving birth, and cubone wears the skull of its dead mother and learns to live in the wild with the skull being used to defend themselves from other pokemon. however, some cubone aren't able to do so: maybe they're premature, too small, or otherwise unable to thrive in the wild (since cubone aren't early route pokemon). kangaskhan is a very maternal pokemon and are known to even care for human babies. thus, the babies in kangaskhan's pouches are skull-less cubones that kangaskhans care for. it works well for explaining the SOS chain without making it too complimented because putting them in the same evolution line would be way too difficult to justify.

Toby! I've had a theory for Gen 5, it's old I know. But it's that N is the descendant of the Player Character of Pokemon Conquest. At the end of Conquest, after you complete the Player Character's second story quest, the Main character is said to leave the Ransei region to spread the message of treating Pokemon as equals, similar to Plasma of modern Unova. Which ties into the "Twin Kings" story in Unova

Sun/Moon/Ultra little secret: TL:DR Hau'oli City Mall Janitor has a "worthless" grandson that is likely another character present in Alola. The janitor in the Hau'oli City Mall who forces you to help him clean up Pokémon "trash" references having a grandson who is worthless when he gives you the TM for Round. The janitor says that working is always a little easier when you have a song in your heart. Who is the Janitor's worthless grandson, though? Well, we know that on Ula'Ula Island, up at the recycling plant, there is an incredibly wishy-washy boy who is the son of the owner of the plant. It's true that the kid is pretty ineffectual until his dad uses you to teach him a lesson in grit and responsibility, but is that flimsiness enough for your own grandfather to call you worthless? While this boy falls pretty well in-line with the lineage of janitors who all use Alolan Grimers or Muks, I have a different candidate in mind for the Mele'mele Janitor's grandson: Guzma. Guzma is one of the few characters in Alola who shows an active interest in music. In his room, there's a nice stereo boombox and stacks upon stacks of CDs, which would certainly be nice gifts to receive from someone like a grandparent who sees the value in keeping music close to your heart. However, with Guzma bumming it up on the beaches (mantine surf, Big G), failing to become a Trial Captain, beating up his dad before leaving without a word, and then joining the remnants of Team Skull as their new leader, it's no surprise that his relatives would call him Worthless. Bonus points for the Hau'oli City Mall being really close to Guzma's parents' house on Route 2.

Now you got me thinking about Time Lords in Pokemon... There is the dragon clan... and Dialga is one of the dragons of legend. According to Time Lord history they became the way they are because of the Time Vortex... could faithful follows or Dialga, maybe a few who were regularly exposed to time vortex like energies because of him become like akin to Time Lords, but only in the pokemon world? Honestly, between Dialga, Palkia and Giratina making a Tardis isn't hard. Mind you, apparently the most recent series has tweaked things slightly with the regeneration but but... Theory for Thought XD

I hate to um actually, but the friendship mechanic IS in FireRed and LeafGreen, as Pokémon like Golbat will evolve once you get the National Dex (and you get a Togepi on the Sevii Islands that you can evolve). It was the day/night cycle that prevented Eevee from evolving into those two Pokémon

In Gen one if you already had the as Anne set sail you can go back to the burned lab on cinnabar and read the Mew books in order, then go talk to the old man who teaches you how to catch Pokémon. After that the ss Anne should be back. Once you leave the area, the ss will set sail again. I’ve accomplished this myself years ago. It was how I got to the truck. But I could only get it to work once.
