Mixology has been one of my favorite summer activities! Last summer, I learned how to make myself fancy iced teas with lychee jelly etc. This summer, I want to experiment with shrubs, which are vinegar-based drinks (I love vinegary foods, may not be for everyone haha) 😹

This might sound like a stretch but doing this many habits is really good time management. I love hobbies but GIRL I can waste 5 hours just like … on my computer browsing on nothing. 😅 so pop off! You rock at time management 😂
Hammock. My hammock is my spot to read and color. I even have a drink holder set up for my sparkling water with mint and lemon in my mason jar. Lol. Such a simple thing but omg good. Also, Alexis Nicole is awesome. I love her TikTok! And, I’m training for a half. I run almost every day.
I am so so with you on the outdoor activities 😅 I also love the “become a regular”. It always feels good to be greeted kindly by the coffee shop people who know I will forever come there an get the lavender latte with oat milk 😂
As a former foster coordinator thank you for mentioning fostering! Even day trips with dogs help them so much like taking them on a hike. Fostering kittens is also super addictive and great for summer AKA kitten season when all the stray kittens appear who cannot go to shelters and require fosters!
My drinkie drink is: one part lemonade, one part nonalcoholic rosé (Welch’s makes some), half part club soda, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Can easily be made a Drinkie Drink by using real rosé!

Hey, Ken! I've got a drink recommendation that my mum makes - it literally carried us through lockdown. It's a hibiscus tea with lemon, ginger, and honey. Then we like to add a can of 7-Up and it becomes a gorgeous lemonade. It'll last you for days 😋 Only add the soda when you want to drink it. Otherwise just store it in the fridge in a large jug 😊
@@CozyK You can buy the leaves from any local east or south asian store. To make the drink for a 2L jug, for example, you will: Add water, but half boiled half cold to bring out the colour of the leaves Add 2 tbsp of dried hibiscus leaves/petals Both halves of a sliced lemon, squeezing the juice first then leaving the halves in the jug 2 inches of a piece of ginger 1/2 cup of honey (or sugar, but I prefer the taste w honey) Leave to refrigerate for a couple hours and serve whenever you feel like it! When serving, you can then add the 7-up (diet I use cuz the drink is already sweet) to your glass and then pour the drink using a strainer (or omit the soda altogether!) It's the perfect summer (non-alcoholic) drink. Enjoy!! 😁😊
Ahh love seeing watercolor on here. I quit being a dentist to be a watercolor artist full time after I had a major health event. Watercolor is amazing and so healing, it helped me move past perfectionism too ✨ If you aren’t super artistic you can get a cheapy palette, spray water on a paper, drop in some colors and still make beautiful art 🤗
Disc Golf, Fishing, camping, BBQ with friends and family, hiking, Jeeping, reading in the hammock, there are so many things I plan on checking off my list this summer. Summer drinks I like would be Ice Tea, Matcha and Margarita's
My favorite summer hobby is sitting in my swinging egg chair with my dog outside and just chilling. Also, my summer mocktail is watermelon juice with a splash of lime and club soda. It has to be in a beer can glass with a bamboo top and a glass straw..literal perfection.
Painting minis is something I'm trying! I'm sitting out in the sun with a fun little drink and painting my little guys. I am going to try looking for meetups!
Thank you for adding a note about fostering dogs! I work with a rescue and have fostered for years. This has been the slowest adoptions have been in years. Shelters are overcrowded everywhere. We need fosters!!!!! It saves lives. A good rescue/shelter will provide you with everything you need to foster so there shouldn’t be a required $ commitment from you, ever. And be honest with the rescue about your experience so you’ll be matched with an appropriate dog for your lifestyle & skills!, Again, thank you for adding this to your list ❤
My summer drink has also become my regular spot haha, its called a mandarin blush, i think its raspberry syrup with soda or (british) lemonade over ice with a splash of orange juice maybe and a slice of dried orange its so yummy and i just keep going to this place to sit in their beautiful garden and read its so lovely!

I love the idea of a summer bucket list! Today I made grape ice cubes and I had a little jasmine green tea with them in my favourite straw glass - I ✨LOVE✨ a fancy lil drinky drink. 💛
I have an ice cream maker attachment for my mixer, and I've been loving making small batches of ice cream! I found a good recipe to make cereal flavored ice cream so now I make pints of my friends favorite childhood cereals to give to them 💜

My fave summer drink is making my own Starbucks refresher and coming up with new flavor combos. They're surprisingly easy to make and customize. I've really been digging Strawberry basil. I grew the basil in my garden and made my own syrup for the refresher. ❤
One thing I love in the summer is a mud mask, the goats milk ones are my favorite atm. And like put on a twitch stream, put on a podcast and just chill

I'm so jealous of all the people that are enjoying the summer!!! Right now it'sthe middle of winter where I am and we don't even get any snow here. That's not to say I won't be trying these hobbies out lol ❄
I love all of these, especially fostering a dog! doing volunteer work is an excellent way to make friends with similar interests. Also, as a suggestion I would highly recommend horseback riding! (A lot of state/national parks have it available) if you’ve ever wanted to feel like the protagonist in a fantasy novel there you go 😅😊
My summer drinky drink... Omg too many to choose. I'd probably say cherry limeade - 1 pk cherry starburst drink flavor, lots of lime juice and like 32 to 40oz water. Sooo yummy. Can also make it caffeinated by using half a pk of cherry and a pk of citrus 4c energy drink mix.
Yessss to dog (or cat) fostering! So so needed in LA. Also the meet ups! There is a BIPOC craft meet up that I’ve been wanting to join, this has given me more motivation ❤
That is soooo crazy you mentioned Mixology. I have been watching alot home cafe videos and have been making my own tea cocktails and iced coffee beverages. I have two cocktail shakers lol.
I like that you included lots of activities that can be done indoors too! I live in a tropical desert, and we actually have things flipped where late fall and winter are the best times to be outside and summer is the worst. Most of us try to stay inside as often as possible, and if we do go out it’s best to do it in the early morning or the evening. It gets above 110 degrees Fahrenheit here, so I’m happy to have lots of suggestions on indoor activities too!
My current fave drink is matcha lattes and shirley temples! But I also want to try Sparkling Matcha Yuzu, which is matcha aprkling water and honey yuzu syrup!

I absolutely loved and needed this video! I find summer a bit of a struggle usually as I don’t cope well in hot weather and pollen allergies can be pretty miserable too, so it was really nice to hear some new ideas that might be good distractions. And YES let’s normalise parasols! You’ve inspired me to try growing some plants and to take up painting and journaling again. I don’t really have a go-to summer drink but I do enjoy something from my childhood - my grandfolks called it an ice cream sundae but it’s not (I think it’s a lemonade float) - two scoops of vanilla ice cream (preferably the violently yellow variety) in a glass topped up with lemonade. They used to give me these cute little spoon-straws with characters on them. The nostalgia! Stay Cozy! 💚
I love Alexis Nicole! But just really follow her lead if that's something anyone's going to do. Or my favorite: If you don't know, don't try it! Also just be very aware of park rules. Some don't allow foraging/collecting for various reasons (like the park I work at we're supposed to leave everything for the wildlife). Never take more than you need and always leave plenty! Also my favorite thing to get into in nature is learning plants, and then learning their chemistry and how Indigenous groups in your area (or wherever you're hiking) may have used that plant. I just love the chemistry x human history angle of nature!
I do really want to try water color, but I've never been good at it! But I did recently try turmeric portraits (where you paint a page with turmeric and then it's sun sensitive and you can put leaves and flowers on and it creates like a permanent shadow!). It's super cool!

Okay, adding to my comment: when I moved to Chicago, I was a regular at two restaurants. I loved being known; it was kind of nice. One of the places would give me a free drink here and there. Since I dined alone, I would sit at the bar and got to know my bartenders.
I live in Tokyo and I hate summer here... I'm originally from Switzerland and summers are the best picnics, swims etc... in Tokyo it's so humid... you don't want to go to the park... you just stay inside... and every year I miss swiss summer really bad😢
Okay, please bear with me - my new signature drink is coffee-tonic! 50% cold coffee (black, no milk/syrups/sugar) 50% tonic water. A friend at work recommended it and I thought it sounded revolting, but I tried it and O M G. Life changing. Refreshing, citrusy, blessed drink of the summer.
I love community gardens. I also blog and write so charging the environment is helping! I have one of those mixologist certificates and though im on the alcohol side i will do a mocktail for friends but add stuff to my drink. lol Now, since. you mentioned it,I guess we will have a picnic with the new drinks I have made up lol and we do the whole smashing the watermelon thing its fun. Also i love bokksu !!! It gives me a snack high before I got to Japan.

I love all of these, definitely going to make a summer bucketlist! I love your suggestion on fostering a dog. It can make such a difference for dogs that otherwise have to stay in a shelter. We have three cats and no room to foster, but in the future when we hopefully will have a bigger house I definitely want to foster kittens! Last year I learned how to make flavored simple syrups, it is super easy and so fun to mix little drinks. You can find tons of tutorials and flavor combo's online. Great reminder also about the summer events, one of our local theatres organizes garden concerts and campfire story-nights every summer, I should really check the program :)
