This was definitely a good one for me as regards to finally understanding what opening the chest feels like.. I now get why I kind of hunch over, and I definitely need a block to achieve the lifting feeling. Thanks Tim 🎉
It was so harsh to get onto the mat, but when I did and started doing this session. Knowing it will be only 18 mins long, I didn’t want it to end. Great session and here I am done with day #12 . I am doing this 30 days challenge on my own pace. 3 weeks of exercising every week is the goal!
Thank you for this lovely practise - I love the feeling of the inner spaciousness and freedom, the use of props gives me. I really feel the energy flowing, when I allow it space to do so by using props when needed instead of jamming or sinking. It is a constant inner dialogue between what my ego says versus what my body says is best for me to do in any given pose. That’s is important part of one’s practise too, - to reflect upon whom of the two one listens to. When I put my ego aside my practice feels so much more free and full of grace and lightness. Thank you also Tim for the short preaching in the end. I love your preaches! It gives the whole practice - and life off the mat - a deep meaning 🙏🇩🇰☀️.
Today is so cold here, I would have been stayed in bed for hours in the morning, if I was not introduced to yoga. What feels better than the blanket is- stretching up with your classes, feel the 'prana' along with the practice. Today it felt amazing, many thanks Tim!
terrific session! i once attended a workshop at which the instructor said, “ if you don’t use props when you need them, you will always need them. if you use them when needed, one day they won’t be needed.” i always found that so useful! thanks you for reinforcing that!
Loving this year’s challenge. Shout out to encourage people to join the CMC to help support Tim in what he does and get access to so many great videos. Worth every penny!
Love your wholesome & handsome image; love your calm & gentle guidance through the practice and love your clear message to us all in the end. Learn to stay calm and change what we can control; ignore all external distractions. ❤👍
Hi Tim, thank you another short & wonderful class using the blocks. I am a yoga teacher & really believe in using blocks to open up & bring more stability to the poses. I still use them in certain poses myself. Repetition in practices certainly help. Much blessings🥰
Feeling really good today. My body is responding better to these poses after just a few days. Love how we get to see the sun setting and rising over the Pacific!
Such a great point about using props for the build of your body versus your flexibility. It's not a weakness, it's a strength to use the tools we have to get the best experience. Kind of a life-mantra too. Thanks for another great class.
Hi Tim, This is the BEST 30 day challenge ever! For starters it's been a breeze to get to. Previous challenges were a challenge just trying to find and get connected. This time the link has arrived every morning. One click and I'm there. Yea!! Also I'm finding this challenge much more user friendly. I've been practicing yoga in one way or the other most of my adult life, but I have a total hip replacement, and used to find myself sitting out portions of previous challenges. This time you're offering plenty of alternatives in a way that is not demoralizing and gives me time to make appropriate adjustments. I'm really feeling the benefits. Also loving the setting. Hearing and seeing the ocean is calming and inspiring.
Another lovely flow. I am now combining the 10 minute warmup with the daily challenge. Thank you. Yes I have missed one or two days and had to go find them on. This challenge has definitely refocus on my yoga practice which was not daily.
Really enjjoyed this class also Tim. I am approaching this 30 day challenge not as another task to check off and that has made a world of difference. I typically do another workout prior to your class (not always but sometimes) and I find the classes to be the perfect compliment. I often will play your 5 minute Savasana video after a class or the class you've created for the neck and shoulders as that's where I seem to be so tight. I want this to become a daily practice and am noticing my flexibility improving along with my balance. Thank you Tim
this was a great class Tim, I also did the 10 min warm up beforehand. I didn't push myself so far and really felt the benefits of opening up my chest and heart - really peaceful (and thanks for the reminder that we can control our reactions to things! I needed that reminder this morning too). x
Wow, after following you for the better part of a year, this is the first time (that I've noticed) where I was into a pose (folding forward with legs crossed) without my mind anticipating what's next or trying to force something. IDK if that makes sense, but whatever - I'm viewing it as a bit of progress! Thanks Tim! 😊
Enjoyed this flow and clarification/explanation of the use of blocks. Interesting how even with the use of blocks one side of half moon pose feels serene and relaxing; the other side causes me to move me into 'fight or flight' mode. I'll keep working on that. 🙏
Hi Tim, I love the classes and the set up of this year's challenge! Just wanted to let you know the emails have been somewhat wonky - some days I get doubles, some days I don't get them at all. Not sure if this is the case for everyone but wanted to bring it to your attention
Same here. All good until day 10, I got day 10 twice and didn’t get day 11 at all. At first I thought it was a rest day, but he usually does a short breath work class on rest days. Thanks for bringing this up @mmajor24. I am absolutely loving this year’s challenge, the short classes are perfect for my schedule!
On the Day 2 email, Tim mentioned that he would not always been sending out daily emails (he created a Challenge calendar link and a RU-vid playlist to follow) 🙂
@@yogawithtim thank you Tim! I didn't get day 1 or day 6 but I have already completed the videos by following your channel :) I just wanted you to be aware that the email system is a bit flawed.
A Loverly lil flow. I'm a huge fan of props... I like thinking about them as you might props for a play. They can make the play so much more interesting, engaging, and really improve the whole shebang...and can make it easier to access those hard to open places...so why make it harder? Why NOT make it easier? yoga is a balance of effort and ease =) Was great doing this post mobility routine. Feelin good and open. Thanks, Tim!
Thanks Arielle. It's not so much easier or harder, but that the body will never learn the pose if it isn't introduced properly. So for many that will require modification and then gradually moving toward the "full expression of the pose".
@@yogawithtim Thanks, Tim. I think we are saying the same thing in a different way. I struggle with the phrase "full expression of the pose," as I have had many beings express how alienating this can be as it can imply that what they might be doing isn't THAT, because it looks different from what the teacher is doing, or because they are "still using blocks". I don't believe that is what YOU are saying at all (in fact, you speak often about how our unique proportioning may make blocks useful or not) but because it's become such a loaded phrase, I say "easier" because it helps "ease" the body into the correct positioning for that unique body. As someone that has been practicing for 17+ years now, there are still poses that I relish the use of blocks in because for me, without them, I can't get into the "full" expression. Every body has unique limitations, and while we may be able to soften and open and deepen and move through some of them, not every one will shift with practice (for example, my arms probably aren't gonna massively grow or shrink) =) Thanks for reading my diatribe =) And thank you for your thoughtful responses!
Hi Tim ! Back on track. I am really motivated this year 🤭. I like the way you talk... Thank you for giving from your time. Regarding the emails, I used to receive 2 with one empty, meaning that when I clicked on the link there was nothing. Since Day 10, everything is back on normal.
This class was great. I used to think the same thing that using blocks meant that I wasn't very good at yoga. That just isn't true. Thanks for affirming that.
