It felt like two old friends getting together to cook, and hang out. And each of them were trying to boost each other up, and appreciate the other's talents and ideas. It's refreshing to see people trying to build each other up, and show the mutual love for good food and fun conversation. I also like how they both asked each other questions that they thought that us in the audience would ask!

Just discovered Pick Up Limes. ( My husband's trying to turn me on to You Tube) Saw the plant propagation video first and I was hooked. I have now been a vegan for 5 days. The first real vegan meal I made was Gaz's pasta. Oh My Goodness! So delicious. I'm shopping for the lettuce wraps on Saturday. So much needs to be added to pantry going vegan. I'm excited for this new chapter in life.

Woohoo I'm excited for you! Don't be too hard on yourself in the beginning. The time to adjust is different for everyone. Just figure out what's best for you! A couple good docs are always encouraging. Some of my favs are: what the health, forks over knives, cowspiracy, and game changers. I've heard Dominion is pretty earth shattering as well but I'm still working up the courage to watch it. Sending love from Michigan best of luck 🖤

Have a good journey! Remember it doesn't have to be all or nothing with being vegan. It's ok to stuff up! Make sure you monitor your B12 levels! As long as everyone tries to aim towards eating less meat the planet will thank us.

I love how Sadia was so considerate about the wine, I and my family don’t drink alcohol therefor I was already thinking of a substitute for the wine. Whether to use vinegar instead or plain water. Love you Sadia, my family don’t like alcohol either.

OMG, SO GOOD! Cooked the mushroom pasta last night fir dinner and it was so good. Char grilling the mushrooms made all the difference (I used portobello mushrooms (large flat)). Hubby and I are new to whole food plant based (5months) & his comment was ‘Definitely, remember that one’. Trying your recipe tonight Sadia.. Thanks for the recipes you two, you’ve made it easier to transition to plant based diet ❤️

I know several well-known people and still find this harmless admiring comment strange, sorry mate, my problem. I think Gaz's sense of humourous self-deprecation married to his real faith in his abilities and utterly spontaneous and creative approach to life; yes indeed. Saskia (hope I got name right) is self-assured; has all the qualities you would want in an emergency doctor, plus for those of us who are aspirational and like the Royals she's beautiful happy well-married and enjoying her wonderful well-earned place on the bike paths of Amsterdam. Excellent team.

OMG A creamy (Vegan) pasta That just looks so divine!!!! As a (mostly) vegetarian but not a vegan, and just learning, I had no idea you could buy Oat Cream even though I do use Oat Milk now- Will add it to the shopping list. I love Mushrooms with Pasta so I cannot wait to try this recipe out.

672 Gaz’ recipe for the cauli is fantastic, but a little improvement that makes a huge difference is rolling them in crushed cornflakes before frying, gives them such an amazing crunch

King oyster mushrooms are one of my favorites! To make a super easy, delicious Chinese vegan dish, just stir fry them with sliced bean curd (also known as dry tofu) with some LEE KUM KEE Garlic Black Bean Sauce. Less than 15min for sure and so so yummy.

Both recipes are really flavorful and nourishing. They've become my comfort food staples and I've made them many times. I like to add white beans to the pasta for a boost of protein and their flavors go really well together. I also use the leftover peanut butter sauce with boiled soba noodles for a quick and easy lunch. Just top with edamame and you've got your protein, veggie, and whole grain in! Keep in mind though, they are NOT 15 minutes recipes. Not even close 😂. Prep to serve would take me at least an hour each (1.5h if I double the batch). If you don't want to wash 10 large bowls afterwards, I'd suggest using the largest, deepest skillet/wok that you have and do all the mixing with in.

Anyone wondering about the alcohol: some people don't consume alcohol because of allergies, religious reasons, don't want to open a whole bottle just for cooking (my main reason) or because they react very strongly to small amounts (like some Asians who lack the gene to properly process alcohol). Its totally valid to omit it as *it doesn't cook off completely unless you simmer it for a long time (+1hr)*. For anyone wondering what to substitute: I would use a tablespoon of red or white wine vinegar filled up with water to reach the necessary amount of liquid. Another good substitute would be a dried tomato pureed with water beforehand. You're basically looking for something that is acidic, umami and astringent, which both vinegar and dried tomatoes are.

Thanks!! I never drink alcohol and one time, when I was pregnant.. I ate a risotto prepared with white wine. Right away I noticed that tingling feeling in my legs of when I would drink some sips of alcohol.. sooo, there is definitely alcohol in a dish after cooking.. that night I took a sandwich instead

As a substitute for white wine I fine mirin works really well, I l personally use Clearspring Mirin since it doesn't have any sugar added. Great recipes, thank you both so much.

This is to my mind the best vegan collaboration on the internet and the numbers reflect it. Gaz with his professional chef's background and road to Damascus conversion and dream, vr close of a restaurant and that natural beauty, nothing like Instagram images, with her true professional qualifications a Canadian of multiethnicity (definition of a Canadian) living a story book life in Amsterdam; quiet authority brilliant set; this got my sister back into a vegan program which she always supported ethically but had microbiome issues now solv-ed as Clouseau would say (that would be me). Great demand for more collabs of this caliber. Definitely a force for good the two of you!!!

That technique (stacking rolling then thinly slicing) is called chiffonade. Often done w basil leaves

Ok, so I'm at the 19:16 mark in the video, and Gaz is cracking me up - his rolls of Sadia's dish are so full that I'm sure he won't be able to close them up to eat them! Sadia's are all perfectly portioned out, and Gaz has the post-workout version, where you stuff as much into your face as you possibly can at one go - ha! I've enjoyed your collaborations, both of you. Thanks for sharing them.

I found Sadia’s channel by chance, a few months after she first started uploading and I’ve always LOVED her. She’s so sweet and very informative (as well as a skilled chef like Gaz). Gaz, I found from some snazzy looking thumbnail in my recommended feed. I used to flood their comments section on my other gmail account about them doing a collab and their first one made me ecstatic but a second one?? I feel so spoiled. IMHO, they’re the best vegan youtubers. Love how Gaz is so relaxed and laid back in the kitchen and it’s so cute to see Sadia acting like a little student watching him cook with ingredients she’s never used before. It was almost like seeing a child getting introduced into cooking because of how innocent and childlike it was. Hope you guys had fun filming and will do more collabs in the future. Have to give that pasta a try. 😋

i miss the european markets so much - something about walking around an open air market to get your food feels so much more natural than a big box grocery store to me. I know we have farmers markets in the U.S. but they are inconvenient to get to at times.

the alcohol in dishes does apparently not boild away most of the time, as I have been told by a friend of me who is also a cook, and someone who has quite the profound knowledge on the scientific aspects of cooking. He told me that the alcohol bounds with other elements of the dish, so that it's normal boiling temperature shifts (gets higher)and it does not get boiled away most of the time bc the dish doesn't get hot enough. So it makes sense if you don't want any alcohol in your dish to inform yourself what dish is good to go, and which isn't. I think, tho I am not sure, it probably boils away if you cook a dish in the oven. But like I said i am not 100% sure, but thats what I have been told.
