mee too lol you can try "mock layering" which makes it look like you're wearing multiple layers even if you're not. I think there are some vids on YT about that.

same omg haha i never last long with a jacket on top of a sweater. maybe if the sweater was more fitted and the jacket more oversized i would survive but i dont normally gravitate towards fitted sweaters so,,, too bad ig. what does help me tho when wearing long sleeves under my denim jacket is unbuttoning the buttons at the bottom of the sleeve!! my arms feel a whole lot less suffocated like that

What I tend to do, is waiting a bit between putting the sweater/zipper and finally the jacket on. Like wearing it for an hour and move around so it begins to settle and becomes a bit like a part of your body. Lightweight jackets are also a quick solution. Oversized Jackets might do the trick as well, as long as they aren’t heavy/ or have an unfortunate weight distribution. Wearing a sweater without a hood also gives you more space. I myself settled on a solution I found a while back, but it might not work for you. I am putting on jewellery (mostly rings ), which is a bit too small. Then I am putting on all my layers. Meanwhile my body tends only to be annoyed by the ring. Then I finally move the ring to a smaller finger and that release typically is enough to not worry again. I have to mention I am not that sensitive anymore, sometimes my clothes still annoy me but that’s it. They won’t overstimulate or overwhelm. The effects of my hypersensitive slowly faded away by age. Your main goal seems to be wearing an layered outfit all day without having to worry about it. Maybe you should test out a bit what feels overwhelming, what’s fine, what’s okay and what’s impossible to get used to. I learned that no other person with any kind of neurodivergence has similar problems/symptoms on a more detailed level, as I have. There sadly is no statistic or scientific method for every unique problem yet. And because of that trying and experimenting sometimes is the only option you might have. :)
