@@mariotheundying If you have 99 Mushrooms in your storage box, and 10 on hand, maybe it's time to stop footling around the Forrest Maze, picking them up. The game expects you to sell them, or feed them to the Mushroom Boy before that many pile up. Either way, 109 of most items, and 102 Croaka Colas really is more than you'll ever need.

Yeah, McDonald's settled a case out of court against Bobby Darin's son Dodd who claimed McDonald's had unfairly used his father's work for corporate promotion, specifically their pastiche of "Mack the Knife," "Mac Tonight." This happened a while after Mario RPG had come out, so they may have changed Mack's name to avoid a frivolous lawsuit.

The original intent was always to have weapon puns. Claymorton was Kenzōru in the Japanese, with Ken being sword or blade. Mack the knife was a pun, but unnecessarily reference based and yaridovitch was the other extreme, just copying the Japanese name without translating it. So the pun wasn't even noticeable. Ignoring the nostalgia side, I'm glad they fixed that, though I suppose they could have gone with spearyari or something.

​@@OtakuUnitedStudioThe original song was a German song from the Threepenny Opera play "Die Moritat von Mackie Messe". I believe the suing came because of McDonald's song sounded similar to the Bobby Darin cover of it.

@@OtakuUnitedStudio Your timeline is off. Mac Tonight started in 1986, with the lawsuit settling in 1989; which is also when they retired the character. The original release of Super Mario RPG was in 1996, and never uses the phrase "Mack the knife," or ever refers to his 'pogo-sword' as a knife, or even refers to it at all. However, it could still easily have been changed due to copyright concerns.

- I guess changing "Mack the Knife" to "Claymorton" makes sense regarding the reason why McDonald's Mac Tonight becomes obscure nowadays (outside of his popularity of vaporwave). - The name changed from Yaridovich to Speardovich is understandable. It's funny that Yaridovich fits better because I thought has anything to do with the pirate theme (like "yar" is a battle cry for pirates and not just a Japanese term).

Hot Shot is just a retranslation. It makes more sense, too, as the move never drained health (it only deals damage) and in Japanese it was always Fire Orb. No idea where Woolsey got Drain and Mega Drain from.

It's much easier and faster to complete while only new boss rematches are postgame. It's tough to recommend unless you really need a nostalgia trip and don't want to play the countless modern games with timed attacks (paper mario, sea of stars, another crusade, mario and luigi rpgs, even the bootleg touhou shoujo tale of beautiful memories). Cris tales also has timed attacks and voice acting (play on ps5/xbox series as loading sucked before), which adds a lot, that sadly smrpg lacked when they could have just done Mario, Peach and Bowser, or have Mallow sound out crying. You also don't have any type of customization to tinker with (like ff6 or ff8 which remasters benefit tremendously, with esper stat/setzer fixed dice level growth quadrupled as needed in ff6, and ff8 triple speed for sluggish drawing magic for junctions, as well as long summons while having infinite turns to get diablos early), nor a hard mode/new characters/playstyles. FF6 has Gau break the game early with templar/Stray Cat, but the chainsaw can kill regenerating undead, regen is faster and Cyan doesn't clog the menu with slow bushido, so his endgame oblivion is a time bomb to auto win regular encounters in PR (console exclusive boosts for earlier auction and hidden esper purchases, and turn off encounters in crazy fanatics tower). I feel super mario rpg made the lazy grandia 2 HD hard mode that buffed enemies with 15% more hp try harder. At least g2 didn't add a splash/triple attack and obvious indicators for timing cancels when it's already fairly easy. And don't get me started on mid battle character swapping in smrpg.

That boss has always been two entities, both of which have eyes (in both versions), so like is one Mack and the other Claymorton? Which one is which?

NokNok Shell was just a failed transliteration from Japanese though, where Koopa Troopas are known as Nokonoko.

Claymorton is better. Mack made no sense when considering all of the weapon names for Smithy’s gang.

Naw. Claymorton is better and more in-line with the original version. Mack never made any sense.

@@Vanessinha91Pucca if Nintendo releases their games in another platform then a Nintendo console would be useless, Nintendo wouldn't give up their consoles at all PlayStation gets sells because of their advanced hardware Xbox gets their sells from somewhere (idk they vibing) Nintendo gets their sells thanks to their games, that's also prob why their hardware is always outdated or why they didn't improve the switch since 2017, because they can get a good game out of it anyways if they do the attempt to even make a good game

I thought it was just a term for an underhanded lawyer, and it was changed to avoid confusion with the newly renamed "Snifsters" which get their name from Booster.

This is a questionable statement based on the assumption that Shyster is derived from Shylock (The Jewish villain of Shakespeare's "The Merchant from Venice"). There is as much claim that its derived from the German word Scheißer. Ultimately, its a term meant for scamming lawyers or just scammers in general.
