I think in the whole Narcos series universe Amado has all the perfect attributes of being a Narco. He is vicious when necessary, calm, confident, most important a great observer. Also a perfect snake. 1. He entered the cartel and start gaining trust from Felix making Rafa zealous and perfectly won Felix trust till Felix was in power. 2. Despite Felix betrayed Neto, his uncle and Rafa he still worked under Felix till he earned boss status. 3. Became close to Pacho as he knew Pacho handles day-to-day operations the more close to him the more power. 4. Maintained close ties with the Sineloa cartel members mostly with Palma and Chapo cause he knew the Arello Felix are inpatient. Also one day the Tijuana will rival others for routes, which they did and Juarez allied with Sineloa. 5. He partnered with Rafael Aguilar Guajardo so that he can take Juarez. When he saw opportunity he killed and took over Juarez for himself. 6. He could have killed Felix, but he knew he would be seen as threat so he waited till the last moment. 7. Betrayed Pacho, when he saw future with North Valley cartel. I think these reasons are enough to make him perfect successor to Felix also second richest druglord in history worth over 25 billion us 😍.

Amado M Amado Carrillo Fuentes was the one who set up his boss and killed. For him to take power of the Juarez Cartel in early 90s but the whole set up in Narcos Mexico where Gallardo set up Cara Quintero was just fictional. But you can always look it up and do research.

So not the romantic figure portrayed in Narcos, I'd say Mexicans hate the series narcos, the country with all that beauty, culture, history and all most know about it is narcos. My niece was there a few years ago as a tourist and she loved it and wants to go back, she said the people are great.
