NARCOS MEXICO Season 3 Ending Explained! Amado, El Chapo & Real Life Characters Where Are They Now? 

I wished they would have went more in detail about Amado. Amado was the central character of this season but they barely scratched the surface of his operation. I think they tried to cover too much in one season, Chapo, Mayo, Tijuana-Sinaloa War, Juarez Femnicide, and Amado's story suffered because of it and was real thin.

The circumstances surrounding Amado Fuentes death are pretty sketchy at least. He, alledgedly died during a plastic surgery procedure. They couldn't ID the body from his face because the surgery had altered it. Instead they used a fingerprint to ID him and the testimony of the doctors who operated on him. Afterwards, the body was cremated without taking a DNA sample, so it's impossible to ID him with this method. Soon afterwards, as the video mentions, the doctors who operated Amado were found brutally murdered. Amado's immense fortune, we're talking billions of narco dollars, was never recovered. Also, Amado had very good connections to mex. military & intelligence and to the CIA. During the 1980's, Felix Gallardo made a deal with the CIA to transport weapons for them, to the Nicaraguan Contras and other ''friendly freedom fighters'' in L. America in exchange for intel and protection. He assigned Amado Fuentes to organize the whole operation and Amado worked closely with the CIA on this. If you consider, that Amado was a highly intelligent guy who saw how Escobar, his boss Felix Gallardo & the Gentlemen of Cali all went down, it's not unlikely that he planed an ''exit strategy''. You may think: '' bruh, that's sounds way too crazy, this doesn't happen IRL..'' , well there's so much insane stuff, surrounding the Mexican cartels, it's actually plausible.

imagine how badass amado carillo fuentes - if he's still alive - has to feel watching this series and everybody discussing this ambiguous ending

The guy who played the cop was amazing. It's like he was carrying the weight of the world in his heart. I was really hoping

I was a young woman in the 90s partying in Juarez. Watching this series made me realize how dangerous it really was and I’m lucky I was never at the wrong place/wrong time. I remember Amado’s death, of course all the bodies of women being found. But the thought process of us youngins was if you were not involved in drug smuggling, you were safe, not knowing the very bars/clubs we partied at were probably owned or attended by Narcos. Thank God for my grandmother’s prayers.

This is no ending. It is just another chapter in the neverending drug-war story. The next big guy was the chapo (mexico) and Cartel del norte del valle - Paramilitares (colombia)

This season didnt hit like the previous two. Amado should have more than just one series as the main character. He was called Lord of the skies , we saw that in season 2 but not as much as in S3. Also they killed azul, who is still a wanted man today. Rumours are they wont do another series which would be a shame

They made amado underrated in this series lol , he did way crazier things and his story was much better

It wasn’t anywhere near as good as the first 2 seasons. Season 1 of Narcos Mexico is a top ten season of all time. Season 2 was thrilling as well. Felix really made the show. I wish we could have seen him in prison watching everything he predicted unfold with a smirk on his face lol

Amado is for sure alive, the show hinting it is one thing but the whole narrative behind his death is literally something you’d hear in a movie. The surgeons end up dead, no witnesses, the plastic surgery ruining his face, cremated body, like you’re talking about a guy who ran a multimillion dollar drug empire in a time where technology was advancing faster than ever, I wouldn’t doubt for a second he’s still alive and honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he still has some form of influence behind the scenes. If he truly did get out then he’s one of the smarter ones. 25 billion is more than enough for a few lifetimes

I really did like how they showed the feminicide here in Juarez, they've been killing women here for years. Since the 90s till this day. Very sad.

I’m upset they didn’t show the downfall of Benjamin Arrelano Felix (who was arrested a couple weeks after Ramon’s death) and what happened to Enedina Arrelano Felix. Also the Sinaloa cartel

The ending with Agent Breslin continuing to do his work his job despite knowing that he can't change the system is directly linked to what Andrea Nunez says in her last scene at the journal, "sometimes the truth isn't enough, but if you let that stops you... i think you aren't doing your job". They both know their quest for truth and justice is pointless, but they will still continue because someone has to.

It wasnt Chapo, but Ismael Zambada who took real control over the Cartel de Sinaloa. To these days Mayo Zambada is still running the show and never got captured after 50 years in th drug bussiness.

Amado is still alive, they never id him, he's just chilling somewhere all old

I am very very disappointed in that there will not be a season 4. I was hoping Season 4 will talk about Chapo and the current state of the cartels. I don't care for all of these other movies and other stuff. A season 4 would have given more closure on the state of affairs. Overall, I liked all 3 seasons but a season 4 to get us to where we are today would have really really helped.

Amado never died he is just chilling in Argentina having a rave party with Hitler and friends

I love the show and was def disappointed think they rushed the war with Chapo and Tijuana … they didn’t even show Benjamin get arrested seems like they didn’t even end it and we need more episodes

They really undersold Amado, the man had the notoriety and fortune similar or even greater than escobar and his reach was just as long. It was a shame that they wasted so much time on the journalist story, the juarez cop story and the army. It would of been better focusing on the 3 Cartels, poor juan abrego and the gulf got completely ignored after the 1st episode. Season 4 would really top it off to show us how Chapo overran Tijuana and got to No1.

My heart ached for Victor. He was caught up in a system that was so volatile and evil, he was as much a victim as the poor girls he was trying to help. I cant abide the actor who plays Joaquin/Chapo, he's out of his league, whereas the actors who played Walt, Victor and Amado went above and beyond in their craft. I know that Amado was a bad guy, but something in me was hoping that the final scene with Marta coming into the room and the 2 wine glasses and the toy plane sitting on the piano was a glimpse of hope that Amado made it out and could perhaps find some happiness with Marta in Chile. Narcos Mexico had me hooked after the 2nd episode.

For some reason I always loved those strategic conversations between Enedina & Benjamin…both had a good understanding of each other that was satisfying to watch

I feel like they rushed many important scenes like the capture of el guero palma, the capture of Chapo and the actual death of el azul and amado carrillo

I love how Narcos conveniently left out the CIA’s REAL involvement in the “War on Drugs”. Mayo mentioned him using shrimp boats but they never talked about how the shrimp boats made it to off-shore oil platforms of Zapata Oil (do some research to find out who was the founder 😉)

Victor's compelling performance and story are but gut wrenching, as well as Emmy worthy. I really hopped Victor didn't meet his demise the way he did.

I really feel like they should've spread this into two seasons rather than just one, maybe one season focusing on Carrillo Fuentes, Tapia, part of Breslin's story, some of the journalism plot, and Carlos Hank, while the other season could focus on Sinaloa and Tijuana, Mayo, the other part of the journalism plot and the rest of Breslin's story. This way, they could go into great detail about Amado, El Chapo, Mayo, the Arellanos, hell even Palma, while still having plenty of time to tell the other stories too, and maybe even add some new ones like what ever happened to the Gulf and more about Bad Bunny's character Kitty (since they seemed to hype him up a bunch and then he died pretty fast). I for one liked most of the writing, it was exciting, but they just needed to give more depth, because all of these are interesting characters who should've been fully developed. For instance, Carrillo Fuentes at the time of his death was estimated to have had as much as or even more money than Pablo freaking Escobar, who got two whole seasons of Narcos all about him. Amado deserved at least one detailed season on him.

Borat did an excellent job playing Victor in this season. Never knew he could speak Spanish.

They were clearly setting up a season 4 that’s why they never really mentioned chapo but it was canceled I am so not happy....I would’ve loved to see Griselda and the cocaine Cowboys in Florida

What i didnt really like was the journalist replacing walt as narrerator and the cop looking for the girl.Also the way they made ramon look this season,ramon wasnt a calvin klein model,he was a killer

Just finished narkos and narkos mexico. This show was fucking awesome and i hope they make a new one. I realy liked the storyline of victor, poor guy wanted to do good and it got him killed.

Amado was the 🐐 he knew the rules and also knew when it was time to say NO!

Your video is on the money. Although I really enjoyed this season, it really left me wanting more. It's not the show's fault or Netflix. Nobody told me to watch the entire season in one day. As much as I love being able to binge watch TV shows, the old weekly format forced you to reflect, rethink and dissect one episode at a time. This show is almost as good as Breaking Bad and there is real life aspect that it based on. I said all that to say it's my fault I didn't love this season.

Benjamin wasn’t captured yet, and in real life, after ramon died benjamin was captured weeks after. So yeah I think there is still season 4

Amado is still alive, he was too inteligent to end up dead in a hospital, the most clever Narco of all México.

Victor this season felt like a parallel with Jorge Salcedo in season 3 of Colombia, a common family guy trying to get out of the work that ties them to big drug lords of the city and seeking DEA’s help for it

Really wouldn’t be shocked if Amado is still alive, the guy was way too smart to go out like that, he knew he had to find a way of getting out once Pacho told him it was over for them in Cali, he knew he’d be the next target

There should be a season 4 with El Chapo. Chapo had a helluva run and a crazy story to tell with all those prison breaks.

A few years later. Reminder. The series makes all this looks cool but this guy was a monster, every narco is to be afraid and not celebrated.

I was gutted there won’t be a season 4 - Narcos Mexico felt like it was building Chapo’s character from nobody in S1 to the kingpin we knew he went on to become, and the various prison escapes would have been entertaining.

Amado is dead , I don't think he could of pulled it off going unknown of unseen all these years. The ending is just maybe she waiting for him, because she doesn't know he died in surgery. They should just continue the story, basically showing what happens next , to El chapo and the other cartels. I really love the whole series, they show so much and also how many people are corrupt.

This season was a let down I wanted ACTION! I was hyped expecting a big war between Tijuana vs Sinaloa all we got was a female journalist digging up dirt 🤦‍♂️

There is also an easter egg with Chapo. When he enters prison and meets Neto, they are in the laundry. Chapo escape from prison in box with laundry

I thought this show was about Narcos, not journalists, dea agents, a cop and a kid who's affiliated with the cartel

They never mentioned that Felix Gallardo was an Uncle of the Felix Arellano family, who ruled Tijuana. I believe they did this to better delineate the Sinaloa - Tijuana war. It was a nice touch how they hinted that Amado may have escaped to a new life but I doubt it would stand up to serious scrutiny.

For everyone saying that they need more on El Chapo. There is a series that was made about him from Univision which is available on Netflix called " El Chapo".

If anyone is interested in Narcos France it's called the French connection .. there are movies and shows about it!

They confirmed that season 3 was the final for Narcos: Mexico but they also hinted at another project. And honestly it’s a hard thing to write as of right now. After el chapos escape he of course went into hiding and it’s hard to write a show about a man that didn’t want to be found. All we really have left is the violence that he caused. Even el Mayo has never been captured. I think the last season made it pretty clear that this was no longer a war on drugs. No matter how hard they try it’s not going to stop. Every time one leader is taken down another takes his place. If you really can’t wait for another season than I guess you could always travel down to the shady parts of Mexico for a few months and experience it for yourself lol

I hope they do more seasons. Especially with El Chapo. I know they are done with Mexico but maybe they can turn there attention to the US like in Chicago. They could use the twins who ratted out Chapo as a story line and go from there. It's time for El Chapo to shine on Narcos.

I thought this latest season mirrored so much from that movie "Traffic". it was a great watch, but dont feel it created anything we didn't already know.

I really enjoyed The Whole Series of Narcos including season 3

Loved this season. Walt was convincing, Viktor was an amazing edition and Amado was played very well (though more emphasis on his rise to the top could have been added). But the highlight for me was the acting, every character was on another level.

This was a good season. I was wanting to see a season 4 with Chapo battling the Tijuana cartel. Hate it got canceled.

I like that unlike the other Narco kingpins, Amado wanted to quit while he's still at the top, he knows that it's not going to last.

If they choose to continue El Chapo’s story then I’ll be hyped af if they include the Los Zetas Arc, El Mencho and the CJNG arc, Los Chapatos vs El Mayo arc, and how they’ll direct the Battle of Culican

Netflix already has a show about el Chapo, called “Chapo.” I think its a Mexican production.

Haha and i thought felix was smart af. Then Amado pulls off the best disappearing act. Although it is possible for anyone to die from plastic surgery considering it was in it's early stages that time and it happened in Mexico.

Many people say that Narcos is completely over. Apparently Netflix said that its not planed to continue the show. However I really hope they do. El Chapos story has to come next. His story could easily fill 2 seasons. Even if they don't continue with Mexico they should move on to another country. Maybe Bolivia or Peru or Brazil. There are plenty of drug lords who's stories could be filmed.

For me I lost interest in the show the moment Felix was arrested (but continued to watch anyways 😀). Actor who played Felix was perfect casting. Great acting. Vulnerable, confused, arrogant and supremely confident at times! Camarena another good casting

I think you did an excellent job summarizing this season. I had a hard time with the reporter’s narration and acting but over all great acting!

What a fantastic season! So many stories on so many different levels. Too bad it's not being renewed for season 4, would love to see the rise of El Chapo. Didn't think the Tijuana cartel would have survived, but they did among other season ending surprises along with Victors finding out he didn't solve the murders and then his death as well. But as mentioned, this is top level drama when so many stories can be told in a way that the viewer can keep up with them at the edge of your seat. It never became convoluted or boring. Got to bring us season 4.

Missed the opportunity of show a bigger storyline on Amado Carrillo, I was born in Juarez and growing up in 80’s and 90’s I remember he owned almost everything..but he was more private individual compared to Tijuana and Sinaloa’s eccentric narcos. Season 1 is the best, season 2 it’s ok but gave way too much tv time to Acosta..too much! I was hoping a better season for 3… I got disappointed ☹️ I do believe the subject of the girls killings should not have been throw in the mix… not enough time to even scratch the surface on that really…

Very thoughtful analysis. I thought this was the best season of the Entire Narcos Franchise. I was born in Tijuana and relate personally to the story. I think the Femicide subplot is especially meaningful because there hasn’t been much coverage. For people unhappy with this season, they need to appreciate the majority of thing portrayed this season are true . The subplot about the journalist highlights the dangers faces by journalists in Mexico. It is one of the most dangerous places in the World for Journalists. The best “stories” are stories that need to be heard. That is why I think this is the best season.

I saw all season’s of Narcos..And Narcos Mexico this year include the 3 Season’s of El Chapo.. imagine how Much I would have wait for this end If I had saw the first season of Narcos in 2015 . Impressive Show ..wish they do more

I’m sorry but they cannot end Narcos like this. They need a part 4 to continue with Chapo and then it can end properly. As for Amado, someone with 25 billion dollars ain’t just going to cheap plastic surgery. I really think he’s still alive.

To break down the questions: 1. Do I think Walt is with Dani? I don't think so. I want him to rekindle things with her. Watching that last scene felt like a dark reflection to the ending of Narcos, where Pena sees how the work in Columbia didn't make a change. Walt's look feels jaded but resigning to that work in a new battlefield. 2. Will there be a spin-off series? While I won't hold my breath, there definitely is potential for it. Perhaps one about the Mexican Drug War and how it erupted in the 2000s. 3. Thoughts on the final season? I feel like there should have been one more, but they covered things as much as they usually did; and I'd say they did a solid job. Amado's stuff is interesting, and I love seeing how he learned what Escobar or Felix couldn't learn. And watching the scene where Amado learns about Pablo's death had me intrigued at the contradiction; a competitor is gone, but the Cali deal is on the horizon. While I wasn't as immersed to the stuff with Victor, I like the idea of it. I read the femicide as showing the drawback to NAFTA; yeah, jobs will be made, but the workers (especially the women are commodities). I also would have like to have seen the activists who pushed for change be the focus as much as Victor was.

Instead of rushing this potential story, i think they should make Narcos : Tijuana, Narcos : Juarez, and Narcos : Sinaloa
