Lich bane does damage based on your amount of ap ;)

Quite a few patches ago riot made it so that ap champions do some magic damage to turrets based on the amount of ap you have. so a fully stacked veigar can do that. at around 1200 ap i can take out a turret in 4-6 basic attacks. add some earth dragons and a sorcery potion and you do TONS of damage to a turret. th lich bane of course helps with that.

Guys the passive is unique but it still gives 120 ap, if for example you buy boots + 5 magic items, death cap, morello, ludens, lich bane and voidstaff for example. 120 + 100 + 100 + 80 + 80, that's 480 bonus, *0.35bonus ap = 168 ap where as if you got 5 death caps, that's 600 bonus ap, which is extra 210 from deathcap's passive, so you'd have 648 ap vs 810 ap, didnt matter too much in this video since veigar's passive scaled AP anyway... but if you ever play in a bot game or you wanna go for max AP for any other champ aside from veig, building mejais + multiple deathcaps is the way to go.
